I am truly inspired by you owning two jaguar XJR’s I have followed your TH-cam for the longest because of you jag and also in your jaguar Facebook group. I am only 17 and own a 2001 Jaguar XJ8 and have became a self taught mechanic because of the car 😂. I truly love these cars and wouldn’t want to own any other car in the world than these x308’s. My naturally aspirated v8 might be power to me at the moment but I can’t imagine the supercharged R’s power. I really hope you save your 2000’s xjr because it don’t look that bad of condition and with these cars getting more rare it’s sad to see them get parted out. Love the videos! I’ll stay tuned in with my support.
Ethan, do me a favor and send me a FB friend request please and yes, this is my real name.. You are an incredible man at a very young age. I so much appreciate you and your thoughts and comments.
To remove the plug for the light you simply need to press on the straight length of the wire retaining clip, the two ends ride up cams and off the plug comes!
Thanks Scott, after working on the other side, I realized how these clips work which I wish I showed. These clips just snap in the door cards and when they break off which will happen. All you have to do is remove the broken one and replace it, so simple and they are like 8-10 dollars for I think 25 or 30 of them. I think there are actually 10 clips per door. I had broken ones and did not know it..
@@Checkthefineprint listen close, you will need to totally remove the door card from the car to see all the pins, the broken ones are hidden and you can only see them when you have a full view, study the pins, they just snap in and you just get a flat edge and push them out.. If your door handle screw is not properly screwed in, than your door will not line up with the pins when replacing.. Do not do anything until you get the clips.
Those tabs behind the wood colored paneling were throwing me off. Thank you so much just what I needed.
Bruce, you are very welcome, they through me off as well. question, what car do you have?
@@MitchGrooms I have a 98 Vanden Plas. I’m still having trouble installing the rest of the door card. It doesn’t want to fit 😭
Thanks! I’m 17 an this helped me take out my speakers without another person! ( I have no mechanical experience lmao)
I am so glad, and I do not have mechanic experience either
Thanks for video, can now remove my door card easily.

Great instruction for removing the door panel! Do you recall how many door retainer clips there were it appeared to be 5?

Oh and how do you keep the door handle steady when you put it back on mine keeps moving when I try and put back the plastic surround
just keep working at it, it will go back in but you have to hit it correctly.
Still have the parts car?
I friend purchased it and he got it road worthy
Good video
This video came at the perfect time my speakers are blown. Is the second x308 confirmed dead
thank you,
Are the speakers 5 inch or 6 inch
Oh my gosh, I do not remember and I have nothing here to measure the grill with
You didn't even show how to remove the panel
Go back and watch it again,, I pin pointed EVERY SINGLE thing to remove or pay attention before removing . I wish you well!
