Sometimes you have to engineer your own solutions to problems! Stay tuned for part 2 where I will show a new GPU and Ubuntu Install! Thanks for watching!
Nice. The TH-cam Algorithm Overlords threw this in my suggested feed. Good video Kid, I Do love the Optiplex line, have two 790 Towers myself with the i7-12600k Variant myself. One running Linux for TH-cam/Anime/Ect ect. the Other, i tossed a 650W Cooler master Gold PSU in
Thanks for this video. After this and a few other videos I've found the following Dell Optiplex Mini Towers take standard ATX PSUs: 380 745 755 780 But I can't find one for the 760. It seems exactly the same but there is a tiny % chance they decided to use some custom motheroard pinout or something for the 24 pin connector. Again, very unlikely but I want to try it with my 760. I also have a 380 MT, 380 DT, and 745 MT to upgrade!
buddy, be extra careful with cutting wheels and die grinders and use safety glasses, its best to do it outside and fully dis assembled, the metal shavings causes a big mess and can cause shorts and they can get into ur skin, dont ask me how i know LOL
As a once buyer of Pre-Built PC's, I know first hand that the PSU's that came with these builds are bottom of the barrel. I used to have to buy a name brand PSU and ones with more wattage to replace those pieces of garbage.
Living the Optiplex life 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

Part 2 coming in a few days. New GPU and a Linux install. Then we see if we can play some games.
Really appreciate the kindness. You’re why I do it!
@@TrippTech With the specs on it, even with Linux, prob up to 2015 games
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ who knows!
Also.....
Can it run Crysis?
@@O5-XIV if I can play fallout 4 at 720p 30fps, I’ll be good. We shall see!
Q: How do I get to where I want to go?
A: Well you don't want to be starting from here.

Additionally, thank you for covering the dual slot GPU issue.
Update: 760 takes standard ATX PSUs.

I had gloves thankfully!
Although outside, ventilation, and glasses all would have been nice.
