Love, love, love the Bee Gees. I am a black female, 67 yrs old, grew up with them. (A bit lengthy, but a must read.) The Bees Gees: (from left to right) Robin, Barry and Maurice (pronounced Morris) Maurice (Dec 22, 1949 - Jan. 12, 2003.) Robin (Dec. 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012.) Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins. Barry's voice is a bit more mellow since he is older, but he continues to perform to sellout crowds!! Andy Gibb, the youngest brother, had his own successful career. He was 12 yrs younger than Barry. He and Barry looked so much alike, that they could had been twins! Andy passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. @@NAIATHEDRAGON The Bee Gees were huge in the 60s also. They were successful in Australia first- they had immigrated from the UK. Barry Gibb and Michael Jackson ruled the late 70s for Falsetto type vocals too.
Your generation should bring this beautiful music back to popularity. These were good vibes songs. They relax your mind. No bad language, no machine mixing or speaking instead of singing. 😊
Wonderful! I couldn't ask for a better reaction, and I appreciate so much that you want to show respect to the old-time artists by allowing the full video/ track to play out before commenting. The Brothers Gibb -- Oldest Barry (middle) flanked by fraternal twins (not identical as you can see), three years younger, Robin (beardless) and Maurice (pronounced "Morris") --they've been singing /performing since they were pre- teens, with Barry age 9 writing songs until the twins were 10-12 to contribute to the composing. They are UK British-born, with 9 years as pre-teens and teens in Australia before returning to try their fortunes back home in England in 1967 to big success and international mega-stardom.
Born on the Isle of Man so originally Manx. They then moved to Manchester, then Australia, returning to England in 1967 smashed a few hits out then moved to America and thats where the whole family settled. I like their music more than the Beatles and Rolling Stones. Im more a Janis Joplin, Canned Heat Jefferson Airplane, Deep Purple, Led Zepplin, Bee Gees to Nightwish kinda girl. I have every Bee Gees album. Their list of hits is stupendously huge. Not only for themselves but also for other artists such as Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion, Dion Warwick, the lists are endless. Their harmonies are simply superb everything is perfect in every song. Their music is not just one genre. You think you know them then they amaze you with something else.
Well said. Lot of soul there. Just beautiful. They had 100 top 10 hits back in the day. Cant get better than that. Barry , lead singer, is still going strong at 75
Unfortunately Barry is suffering constantly with arthritis and back pain, he's finding it almost impossible to even hold a guitar. He even thinks that he's not got long to live. Saw a recent video enough to make you cry. 😎🖐🦘
@Spud Johnsonn No. I LIVED IT!!! Before the early 70's movie Saturday Night Live, they were starting disco, pop at times, even wrote for country artist. They wrote a song for Otis Redding, but he died just before recording it. They recorded it, but the name escapes me. So, R&B as well. 50 years and over 100 songs in the top 10. PERFECTO!
Thank you SO much for letting this play through before commenting. For us 60 -somethings, this is PART of what we grew up on. Disco era stuff that is GOOD Don't forget good ole southern rock, as the other genres from the 70s and 80s
Keep in mind. Singing live. No auto tune. No pitch correct. Insane talent. In fact if you can name a group or human that did it better, by all means. Just incredible. Much in the same way you could never say a soul did it better than Michael Jackson, you have to give The Bee Gees the same props. Unequaled. Great reaction man… also you have a unique speaking voice bro. Interesting to listen to. (Compliment)
Those of us ‘of a certain age’ have had the pleasure of this music for the past ~50 yrs… it’s a deep deep dive if you choose to make it, but worth every minute spend enjoying it!! Pure, pure talent.. both writing and singing!!
One of the most beautiful things, aside from the Bee Gees music, is watching someone new to them suddenly seeing and hearing the amazing talent these guys had. From someone old enough to have heard them from their beginnings, always a joy to welcome someone to the magic.
It is a masterpiece ,Vocal harmony, incredible falsetto... a lot of soul, life and heart put into this song that I think Barry dedicated to his only wife and lifelong companion... and who have already been married for 52 years, that's why his face looks relaxed, it reflects peace, joy but above all it reflects the heart, love, feeling singing to his wife...!!! amazing....
The Bee Gees, The Carpenters, Neil Diamond, Linda Rodstadt, Olivia Newton John, John Denver, & Cat Stevens were some of my childhood favorites. Absolutely pure, beautiful vocals.
Too Much Heaven. That video is from the Bee Gee's live performance at The Music for UNICEF Concert: A Gift of Song. It was a benefit concert of popular music held in the United Nations General Assembly in New York City on January 9, 1979. It was intended to raise money for UNICEF world hunger programs and to mark the beginning of the International Year of the Child. The concert was videotaped and broadcast the following day on NBC in the U.S. and around the world. The Bee Gees gave UNICEF rights to all royalties from the song. It's raised about $11 Million for UNICEF thus far. Keep in mind that in 1979, things like auto tune had not been invented yet. This is just raw talent.
Actually, the above video is not the one used for the UNICEF concert. That video has a purple light around them. th-cam.com/video/dP4HhEJ7Qtw/w-d-xo.html
I'm a grandparent now. The 60s, 70s, and 80s was my time. My grandchildren are all teens now. I have been trying for years to introduce them to the greatest era in music history ever. My 15 year old granddaughter has had her eyes and ears opened. While the other rugrats are playing video games and are on social media, she spends hours every week with me listening and singing along to classic rock, soul, blues, and some jazz. We will even FaceTime each other and listen to the greats as I try to give her the history of the musicians as well as trying to tie the music in with a history lesson. I believe it's important to teach our children what was actually happening in the world when a certain song was written and recorded.
I'm 47, and this is one of my favorite songs from them. This just melts my mind, body, and soul, delivering me into a state of pure bliss. When I was younger, my precious mother would put Bee Gees music on and hold me; sometimes she would comb my hair. I'm blessed to still have her with me, and I now play this music on my phone, and we watch videos of them while I comb her hair. Beautiful, nostalgic memories. This song gives me the feeling that everything is going to be okay in my life. That's what their music does to me. For me, this music is heaven on earth. Thank you for your honest reaction to a classic from True Legends. God bless you and all who are watching and listening. Enjoy everyone!🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼🥰
OMG...SUCH MEMORIES!!💖💖👍 They had SO Many HITS!!👍👍 In the 70s you couldn't go to a Party without the BeeGees to dance to....they were Great!!! THANKS!!🙏🙏🙏🥰

In an old interview Barry (n the center), once said that the brothers could not read music, and that their harmonies just came naturally! Seriously their music just puts you in a mood! The Saturday Night Fever tracks make you wanna move!!! Great stuff!
Brothers Gibb. They had hits over 5 decades. You likely heard the song “Staying Alive” and just didn’t know it was them. So many try that one next. Thanks for opening the BeeGees deep vault!
OMG, grew up in the late 70's with the Bee Gees. Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. A bunch of bangers on the soundtrack. Jive Talkin is another good song. They have hits for days. 😊
Jive Talking is a great song!!! The late 70s /early 80s were the best. We had Funk,Punk,Hard Rock, Disco, and early Rap was just the best. Run DMC :) I think Raising Hell is one of my fav albums ever. I am struggling to think of a great band that has appeared since the 90s? The 90s were awesome for music too,of course. Nirvana etc.
Wonderful reaction, I believe you got a bit emotional....welcome to the amazing Bee Gees. No autotune just pure talent, their live performances sound exactly like their recorded ones.
“When you’ve got brothers singing together it’s like an instrument nobody else can buy”. - from their Broken Hearts documentary. They’re simply fabulous!
Kathy here - almost 69 years old and love seeing the younger generation appreciating the music I grew up with. 3 Brother, one mic and no auto tune. Will never be duplicated ever! Thanks for not stopping the video and loved your reaction! They caught you off guard with Barry's first solo riff. LOL And yes, hearing their music does bring back so many memories, of slow dancing to this one, shaking it from some of songs from Stay Alive Album.
A perfect reaction. You get it! How Deep is your Love, One, You Win Again, Jive Talking, Fanny be tender with my love, For Whom the Bells Toll...50 years of hits in this rabbit hole! Enjoy 😉
There are literally thousands of songs I love and adore and will never tire of. Then there are the select few songs that I would label as perfect. As this is one of them. It is absolutely flawless. For all of the thousands of times I've heard this, I've never not been moved by it. And astounding piece of art. And all of the royalties of this song went to charity. They've never earned a penny from this song.
The Bee Gees first tried out the falsetto in "Nights on Broadway". It's very much worth a listen, and a great look into how they developed their sound and where they came from. Incredible track. ♪♪
Yes the vocals where in the upper registers, but not falsetto. It is called 'head' voice, which is much clearer and has the power falsetto cannot deliver.
You don't know the music you missed in 70's -80's!! The Bee Gees we're incredible..The most harmonic group of guys in music! Who didn't love these guys?
Hi! I'm portuguese and I've watched several reactions videos especially about this divine song. Bee Gees were part of my adolescence and youth as well as Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye and the immortal Michael Jackson and in Europe the Swedish band Abba. It's hard to describe the harmony and peace that this song has always caused me. Their voices were of an absolutely divine degree and the orchestrations of their themes exquisite and sublime. The lyrics were also fantastic because they always found an echo in our lives. I have a brother-in-law who in the 1980s often told me that the Bee Gees were amazingly good and would last through the decades. Their music sweetened our ears and warmed our hearts. Greetings from Porto, Portugal.
If you are just discovering the Bee Gees you have so much beautiful music to enjoy. They were, and are still, incredible. I can only imagine how much Barry misses his twin brothers. By the way thank you for playing the whole song before speaking.
Imagine how we felt in the 70s when they were REALLY popular..We lived for a BEE GEE'S album..And when they did the staying alive soundtrack..We were really in Heaven ❤
These brothers had over a thousand songs written and sung by themselves from the 60s to 2003 when Mo passed. They also wrote for many other artists. These 3 and their younger brother Andy who passed away very young just as he was about to join the BeeGees were all phenomenal talents with craxy vocal range.
I'm 71 now, but I remember seeing the Bee Gees in 1968 in LA at a fantastic concert where they sang their early songs which I love to this day. Really great memories of their amazing harmonies!!
I turned 70 last month. 90% of my iTunes library is music from the 1970s. I can’t believe it was 50 years ago. There was always somebody having a party or discotheques where you could dance all night with women in dresses and men in suits. My,my, my, things have changed. And not for the better.
Welcome to the glorious rabbit hole that is the Bee Gees. There are too many songs to recommend - the Bee Gees, brothers Barry Robin and Maurice, made gorgeous music like this for more than 2 decades.
The BeeGees where amazing. They will forever be in history as one of the best artists ever. Dive into more of their music. You will be surprised. Thank you for reacting to them.
Paul McCartney and indeed the middle dude "Barry Gibb" the best falsetto of all time - from the Bee Gees. The most talented songwriters in music history - their songwriting is simply from a another planet - quote by Elton John 🍾🔥🪐
@@MischaGER - That's wonderful BUT look at the LP liner notes and see whose names are on 90% of the song credits. Everyone seems to think Barry wrote everything and his brothers were some kind of back up act which upsets me. Even songs like "Guilty" and "Woman in Love" for Streisand, ""Chain Reaction" for Diana Ross, "Islands in the Stream for Rogers, "Emotion" for Samantha Sang, "Immortality" for Celine Dion, etc. either Barry and Robin Gibb or all three brothers. Maurice was by far the best musician and did most of the arrangements. Barry wrote most of the songs when they were young because the twins were over three years younger but they soon caught up. The other brothers also wrote for other people eg, Robin and Blue Weaver wrote the big hit "Hold on to my love" for Jimmy Ruffin. Mo and Robin wrote songs for Robin's several great solo LP's. I find Barry doesn't always make great efforts to dissuade people from thinking he wrote everything. Meanwhile he gets knighted and is "Sir". 😒 What about Robin's musical and philanthropic work? What about Mo's? All did philanthropic work. All sang and composed. Note - Elton said "Their songwriting is simply from another planet". THEIR SONGWRITING. Was Barry great? Sure, but so were Rob and Mo and where is there recognition?
I agree ... the best falsetto at the time and for a long time...but...a new voice has taken "Emotion" from Destiny's Child, recorded all the parts and blown many away. Gabriel Henrique of Brazil he does not speak English but is learning. Tell me what you think. th-cam.com/video/AEdGV86XpcQ/w-d-xo.html
Ooooh So many Bee Gees songs to hear. "Staying Alive" gets my vote, and "Jive Talking", and "I Started a Joke", and . . . . Wait! You haven't done the Righteous Brothers yet? You have quite a musical journey to come.
Bee Gees were so consistently successful as performers and writers with fabulous musical arrangements and those harmonies ... nothing fabricated. Sadly Maurice and Robyn have passed but Barry still performs with family members and they have left a legacy of hit after hit both for themselves and other artists. Truly phemonemal musical talents. British born but spent many years living in Australia appearing on early Australian television shows. Their first hit was Spicks and Specks, which went #1 in Australia just as they left to return to Britain for a greater chance of international success. They achieved that in spades! They do have a sister who was not part of their act and she still lives in Australia.
Mom and dad had them playing in the house ALL the time with : Bee Gees , Earth a wind and Fire , The Carpenters , Anita Baker , Jodi Mitchell. Flood many memories when I hear it . You see , all the 80’s movies .. it really was like that . Incredible and soo much beautiful music .

Hey Tex-Tess N. I'm excited for more ☺️
Listen to an album. You will love it! They changed their sound each decade. I love nights on Broadway
The soundtrack for Saturday night fever is the one to listen to.

LOOK FOT THE "LIVE" PREFORMANCE
This was live no studio just raw talent. Those are some bad boys.
Well said. Lot of soul there. Just beautiful. They had 100 top 10 hits back in the day. Cant get better than that. Barry , lead singer, is still going strong at 75
Wow 100 is insane!
@Spud Johnsonn In the 70's we called that time of songs "DISCO". After Saturday Night Fever. They even wrote country.
Unfortunately Barry is suffering constantly with arthritis and back pain, he's finding it almost impossible to even hold a guitar. He even thinks that he's not got long to live. Saw a recent video enough to make you cry. 😎🖐🦘
@@justinthyme5382 I saw that also. Made me so sad!!!
R.I.P. Andy,, Maurice & Robin...Thanks For ALL You Gave Us...Gone But Definitely Not Forgotten.🙏❤
We had the BEST music! Nothing today comes close!
A lot of soul and a lot of love....no hate, no negativity, mediocrity, vulgarity, etc., etc., etc.
I appreciate the fact that you wait until the song is over to react.
If everyone in the world realize that”Love is such a Beautiful Thing “ maybe, just maybe we all can make this world a better place.
Those of us ‘of a certain age’ have had the pleasure of this music for the past ~50 yrs… it’s a deep deep dive if you choose to make it, but worth every minute spend enjoying it!! Pure, pure talent.. both writing and singing!!
Thx ...so well put !!!
I love 'of a certain age" 😅
STAYING ALIVE is a must!!!
Thank for listening without pausing. Really makes your reaction beautiful and real. Good job!❤

Never will there be another Bee Gees!!🎶🎵🎶
WE LOVE THE BEEGEE'S. SO SAD GOD TOOK THEM SO SOON, WHAT A GIFT
Enjoy everyone!🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼🥰
bee gees love you inside out
I am 70 and the Bee Gee’s were my all time favorite and pretty much still are! They were fabulous and be sure to listen to all their songs.😊
BEST GROUP EVER!!! And, they wrote songs for so many other artists!!!!!! They were an amazing family!!!
OMG...SUCH MEMORIES!!💖💖👍 They had SO Many HITS!!👍👍 In the 70s you couldn't go to a Party without the BeeGees to dance to....they were Great!!! THANKS!!🙏🙏🙏🥰
I'm jealous lol. I was born in the wrong generation 😕
@@NAIATHEDRAGON No, no...lol!!😄 You're just where you belong..🥰🥰 But you CAN listen to some really GREAT old(er) music....have a cook-out and invite some friends...see what They think of it!👍👍 🤗🤗👍
@@NAIATHEDRAGON We REALLY had fun dancing compared to the dancing today. I won dance contest!!!!
There will never be another group like the Bee Gee's ❣❣❣ *(RIP Andy, Maurice, & Robin)* Forever in our hearts.....
In an old interview Barry (n the center), once said that the brothers could not read music, and that their harmonies just came naturally! Seriously their music just puts you in a mood! The Saturday Night Fever tracks make you wanna move!!! Great stuff!
Not just the tracks... Saturday Night Fever is an awesome movie too!
Brothers Gibb. They had hits over 5 decades. You likely heard the song “Staying Alive” and just didn’t know it was them. So many try that one next. Thanks for opening the BeeGees deep vault!
I had the pleasure of seeing these guys 3 times!!! absolutely phenomenal!!!!!
OMG, grew up in the late 70's with the Bee Gees. Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. A bunch of bangers on the soundtrack. Jive Talkin is another good song. They have hits for days. 😊
I thought you were in your 20s 😮
So did I
Jive Talking is a great song!!!
Same here
This song and Fanny (Be Tender With My Love) are my absolute favorite Bee Gees songs. So emotional and soulful.
Quincy Jones called FBTWML the most beautiful R&B song ever written.
Wonderful reaction, I believe you got a bit emotional....welcome to the amazing Bee Gees. No autotune just pure talent, their live performances sound exactly like their recorded ones.
Memories , this one brings back lots of memories.
“When you’ve got brothers singing together it’s like an instrument nobody else can buy”. - from their Broken Hearts documentary. They’re simply fabulous!
Yes you ROCK! TY
THANK YOU!! It gives me some hope for your generation to hear someone from it say they understand what REAL music should be and can do!!
Enjoy 😉
Thanks Betty!
The Bee Gees recorded this and gave all proceeds to UNICEF
I love watching an entire new generation enjoying the music I grew up on!! Ahhh the memories!!!
I gotta check that out 💯
Yes the vocals where in the upper registers, but not falsetto. It is called 'head' voice, which is much clearer and has the power falsetto cannot deliver.
Thank you, I love that song and had no idea that their signature high pitch came from it.
Love nights on Broadway!
Thank you for that beautiful tribute.
I'm glad to hear another generation appreciates the beautiful music of the Bee Gees.😅
So beautiful. Barry Gibb has some pipes.
One of their best...EVER... Lyrically, vocally and just musically! And soulfully! This song has it all! BeeGees are legendary!
Great 👍 reaction!
You young people need to listen to 70's&80's music! The best songs ever written, and performed no autotune just pure talent!!!
You don't know the music you missed in 70's -80's!! The Bee Gees we're incredible..The most harmonic group of guys in music! Who didn't love these guys?
MUST HEAR Early Classics,, The Bee Gees "I've Gotta Get A Message To You" & "I Started A Joke"
The BeeGees were exceptional; pure talent; their voices blended so well
Hi!
I'm portuguese and I've watched several reactions videos especially about this divine song.
Bee Gees were part of my adolescence and youth as well as Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Diana
Ross, Marvin Gaye and the immortal Michael Jackson and in Europe the Swedish band Abba.
It's hard to describe the harmony and peace that this song has always caused me.
Their voices were of an absolutely divine degree and the orchestrations of their themes exquisite
and sublime.
The lyrics were also fantastic because they always found an echo in our lives.
I have a brother-in-law who in the 1980s often told me that the Bee Gees were amazingly good
and would last through the decades.
I'm a mid 50's heavy metal fan but I am blown away by the Bee Gees
You described the feeling perfectly. It truly is a higher frequency song. I’m not even from that generation but I lean towards this type of music ❤
The epitome of blue eyed soul. This is when love songs made you fall in love. One of my all time favorite groups.
My favorite group of all time❤️ Thanks for the reaction and respect.❤️
My favorite group as well and my mother's favorite also
The reaction was all over your face.... It told us that you enjoyed the GREAT BEE GEE'S. thanks for your reaction
Respect is even rarer than love. The two together is phenomenally rare
And your reaction was "beautiful and amazing." Glad you enjoyed the BeeGees. They have plenty more for you to love. 👍
It touched your soul, huh? Got chills, huh? That's the frequencies of the music. That's why our generation was a peaceful generation.
Paul McCartney and indeed the middle dude "Barry Gibb" the best falsetto of all time - from the Bee Gees. The most talented songwriters in music history - their songwriting is simply from a another planet - quote by Elton John 🍾🔥🪐
All three brothers wrote most of their songs, not just Barry. He always gets all the credit. Sad.
@@susieq9801 Guiness Book of Records see this otherwise, there he is marked as best songwriter of all time together with Paul McCartney
Paul McCartney 🤣 NO just NO I'm sorry. Best falsetto ever was Barry Gibb ....2nd place goes to Frankie Valli of the four seasons.
Thank you for saying that about us old folks, I'm 58, born in 64. Saw Saturday Night Fever in the theater at 13.
Ooooh So many Bee Gees songs to hear. "Staying Alive" gets my vote, and "Jive Talking", and "I Started a Joke", and . . . . Wait! You haven't done the Righteous Brothers yet? You have quite a musical journey to come.
The four seasons is one to check out
" who loves you baby"
That natural harmony that family members sometimes have is like no other.
YOU GOT IT!
This is why our generation was a much happier one. You are exactly right. It's all about you frequencies. It reacts on our soul
The Bee Gees were the greatest ever! Their music touches your heart and soul!! Perfection! Watch Fanny be tender with my love!
Most beautiful lyrics, harmonies and music for well over 5 decades.
No one can or ever will come close to the brothers Gibb❤
Mom and dad had them playing in the house ALL the time with : Bee Gees , Earth a wind and Fire , The Carpenters , Anita Baker , Jodi Mitchell. Flood many memories when I hear it . You see , all the 80’s movies .. it really was like that . Incredible and soo much beautiful music .
