Thanks Mary for the update. i was watching and wondered WTHeck happened. i enjoyed your video and the class from last week. For anyone who uses distress inks and makes a lot of the ink smush backgrounds and doesn"t want to waste the leftover ink and makes even more backgrounds, your first example is a life saver to use them up. I guess I"m just cheap but I would use the center of the pretty solid background paper to stamp and diecut the sentiment. No one will know because it will be covered up by the card.
just read your blog post... you're so right, you can not please everyone... you are such a kind person. it's beautiful that you turn something negative into a learning experience and teach others in the process. thank you for who you are! and the content you bless us with... have a beautiful day!
Don’t know if you’ve ever made any cards with napkins but it’s really fun. My favorite technique is to glue a section of a napkin to a cardstock panel. After it’s completely dry, run panel through an embossing folder. So cool 😍
I did a card along with your video today. It's the 1st time I have ever done that. It was SO fun! I loved it! I can't wait to try it again. Your awesome!
Rachel and I enjoyed watching this last night. We too have a pile of background to make into cards. Thank you for your encouragement and ideas. Rachel is just recovering and starting back into all of this.
Love your videos!!! What great ideas you have & share with us!! Also, been meaning to tell you even thou it's not Vets Day, 'Thank You for Your Service to This Country'!!
This video is exactly what I needed to watch today. I have a boatload of backgrounds that I need to use up. Mary to the rescue! :D Thanks girl, hope y'all have a great weekend.
I do this with my crafty crew (a lovely group of ladies who come over to my house to craft every month or so, chat, eat, drink and generally feel good about ourselves). They all bring different crafts and projects they are working on and maybe need some help with inspiration and then we all help one another out ❤
I missed your video but I’m watching the replay right now. I can’t believe I was sitting here making cards and didn’t know you were having a video today. Have a great day and weekend. 🥰🤗
This was a great live Mary with you daughter hate that I missed it . The replay was just as good I have it save so I can go back see what I missed. There were so many great questions. I definitely dwnload freebie. Have ever done embossing with a rolling pin? I don't own a embossing machine or any other machines? Can't wait for the next live.. Will replay stencil video. Tyfs💜😎🌻
@@marypolancodesigns yes ..but I haven't been able to find that video again..I'm not very tech savvy. I know she wet the paper but I can't remember what type of paper or how saturated it was. I do remember it was beautiful
I'm not sure what's exactly in it, but think baby powder or corn starch. It takes away the static electricity on the card surface so you can get a perfect impression and embossed image.
Mary… do you happen to remember which colors/inks you used on your inky background for the first card you made on this stream? It’s like pink, yellow… ? I love that color combo! Thanks so much for the ideas! ❤-Nancy
Sort of, but not these specific backgrounds. I have a compilation video of background techniques. Here you go. th-cam.com/video/jS5RfehzZQo/w-d-xo.html
Hi Nichole, yes if you registered you still have the link (it's the same as the live). If you don't have that info, just shoot me an email at mary@marypolancodesigns.com I hope you are recovering well!
I just tried to add them but it's not giving me an option. I'm not sure if it's because it was a live but my other videos let you select cc. I'll look more into it.
Stamping is N O T for me (!!) … u n l e s s there is NO other way to get the image I’m going for. I just finished a card using the Art Impressions “Reel Great Guys” set, but had to involve a professional copying service to shrink the image and print it in the position I required. SIZE ISSUES are also what makes me turn to my computer when I need sentiments to fit a specific space. Sadly, I can’t seem to figure out how to add additional typefaces to my computer’s repertoire. And, boy, wouldn’t I l o v e to know how to make the MOCKOFUN app work!! (I managed to make a sentiment in a SEMI-CIRCLE some time back, but somehow lost my saved efforts 🥺😫☹️!!). I will say, there are a few red rubber stamps I would like to own, but they’re mostly “full sized” (even oversized?), “background”, stamps, however.
Hi everyone, at 22:39, we lost power but we come back in the video at 25:42. Just skip that section. So sorry about that.

I rather enjoyed it to be honest. It was real life and you just rolled with it SO smoothly. You're a true pro! Your composure was amazing!

Thx for the idea!! Sounds simple enough for a “quick” card, even though it regularly takes me 4 days - OR MORE!! - to make one card!!
I have not, but I love fun! I'll have to give it a go! Thank you
Missed the live but watching the replay. Thx, Mary
YAY!
My daffodils are up! YEAH!

I hope you love it! YAY
Where are you Gals coming up with all this time to a generate a STASH of backgrounds?!? I’m envious!
I did a stencil class and went nuts. Hahaha
Thanks again for your great information.
My pleasure!

Thank you. 😊
You're welcome 😊
Lovely Live! Too bad I missed it!
Next time! 😃
Pretty card!
Thank you, so fun!
Good video. Thanks for sending the link for the embossing folder video to your email subscribers:)
Hi! I love the simplicity of this card. Thanks for sharing. Exactly what is anti static powder? Where did you purchase the powder box from, so cute?

@@marypolancodesigns… I’m thinking maybe Worn Lipstick, Milled Lavender and Squeezed Lemonade? 🤷🏼♀️
Hello Mary, do you have a video online from how you’re making the backgrounds?
Sort of, but not these specific backgrounds. I have a compilation video of background techniques. Here you go. th-cam.com/video/jS5RfehzZQo/w-d-xo.html
catching replay
YAY so happy to hear that. I hope you like it. We lose power for a few minutes, just skip right over that.
Fun chat! I watched later, not live. 😃
So happy you still caught it
I missed your stencil class because I was having surgery. Is there a way to still take it.
Hi Nichole, yes if you registered you still have the link (it's the same as the live). If you don't have that info, just shoot me an email at mary@marypolancodesigns.com
I hope you are recovering well!
If you need a new powder bag, you can use any body powder or even cornstarch.
Thank you for adding this
Where do you get plates for the mini die cutter ?
They came with it. But im sure the company of your mini machine will sell them
What is the floral set that you used on the b-day card?
That is the Lovely Bunches Stamp Set: shrsl.com/4fjg1

QUESTION, to Whomever HAS EVER USED Hairspray as a fixative … Did you have any issues with the SURFACE REMAINING TACKY??
I do not but I suppose that would depend on the spray
Hi to Aydia too
Hello Mary.

Hello everyone
what is a 3D card?
I think we were tlakimg about 3D Embossing folders
Thank you for your quick response. I would never have associated with embossing folder.@@marypolancodesigns
