Very good idea. Start with your mates from "in-house" bands and see how it goes... Or have an artist that comes in to do a "the captain meets" to do this as well.
Until the artist still sounds like the artist with the cheapest practice amp and instrument... I recall a tech lamenting that Eric Clapton was going to do a walk on and the only amp they had for him to use was the one that the Singer used for one song and it was not very good, but Eric walks on with the first guitar off the rack plugs in twiddles the knobs turns around and sounds JUST LIKE Eric Clapton...

Mental good sounds. Dude's a toanz beast. I'd say you did very well considering the variations in the man's gear. Sweet!
Hi Pretty surprised to read that Scott Holiday used a Friedman amp... On Feral Roots tour, I'm sure he used a Supro in addition to the usual Orange stack....
@@fylyp I thought so as well. I may be wrong in my assumpion that it was his amp ?? There were effectively an orange and a supro on stage. I'll have a butchers at the pics I took and see if I can surmise further!
He also uses a supro amp at the same time for his dry sound now too. Was lucky enough to be shown all his gear backstage once. Super cool band and very nice dudes
@@JoseHenrique-xg1lp This series has never been about uncovering the mysteries of tone, its just showing what the rigs look and sound like at different budgets. I apologize in advance if I interpreted your comment, but I always see comments like these when people suggest an artist and it bothers me. We enjoy seeing Matt and Rabea walk around the store and pick out gear and attempt to play like the artist no matter what the rig is.
@@boggeshzahim3713 You have a good point, and there's not need to apologize whatsoever. Also, I assumed some context as this video is a "busting the bank". Andertons sells Mesa boogies and Music Man Magesty, so I pretty much assumed the video would go around that (they have used signature gear in others videos, like on Jimmy Page)
Great ideas and would lose to see them, would have to be without busting tho as misha also has his signature Jacksons and peavey invective, the other members have their signature guitars as well.
Scott's the man... He got me into Fuzz pedals more than anyone else... Still way to go but I gave a try at some of their tunes on my channel, feel free to check out if you wish
You guys always do an awesome job! Sometimes we all forget that you guys are trying to get a live sound to match the studio recording of bands. These bands take the best equipment and best studios as in sound, space and engineering. These guys get really close with a simple room, guitar and amp. So...excellent work. Even with the same drums and playing (trying to emulate) I never did get the Elvin Jones tones that Rudy Van Gelder did in the studio. Close though.
This one and royal blood are my favorites: Fuzz and a pog. The dynamic duo. I imagine if you put those two on the same stage it’ll just be a whole lot of noise

I have managed to get somewhat OK tones out of a Carcosa Fuzz and a Whammy set one - 1 octave Electric Man, Do your worst etc... Feel free to check them 😁 Cheers from France
Fender Stratocaster & Gibson Les Paul Mesa Boogie and Tone King amp together Compressor Wah (for money for nothing) Volume Pedal done and you'll need his fingers
What's up with that Ibanez RG770DXLB in the background? Or is it a RG670? It's sitting there since forever but it never appeared in a video as far as I can tell.
Immediate blockage would ensue if they played The Eagles on this channel. They are probably the most infamous blockers on TH-cam. Of course, there are others who do the same thing. Definitely loved this episode Great fuzz sounds And as a Rival Sons fan, I think you did pretty well Of course Scott Holiday uses various types of guitars, but the choice of a Gretsch instead of FB type was still relevant, since he got himself a custom made Gretsch Penguin 😉.... Amongst others...

Nailed it! LOVE that band! They don't get nearly the press/promo they deserve.
It would be amazing if u could do a without busting with the actual guitarist picking the gear with you and trying to sound like himself on a budget
I love that idea!!

Finally! I’ve been waiting for this forever. Mr. Fuzz Lord is awesome
The Firebird he is using is a custom Kauer Banshee, probably would cost in excess of $4,000. Kauer is boutique guitar shop here in my home town.
Can you do sound like The Black Crowes? :)
Ivan Medarić good call 👍
Ivan Medarić oh yess
That would be great! Both by and without busting the bank.
You guys nailed it, just found these guys a few weeks back and can’t stop listening!!!
Hey Guys! Thank you for all your amazing videos. I saw Rival Sons on stage at Nimes in France in July. Scott was using a Line 6 Helix Floor.
Sounds like The Cure or Prince, please.
Prince
Most of Scott’s Firebird-style guitars are actually Kauer Banshees, and by god are they awesome.

The Last_Saint yeah he has quite a few Kauer Banshees. Love their guitars!
They should have picked the blue Duesenberg in the background. Bigsby, 3 pickups, filtertrons and crazy expensivr

I feel like the Rival Son's are hard to replicate because their albums have so many layers. Never the less these sounds are killer!
Does the Sabbra Cadabra actually sound like that???? i want the tone rebea had at the end of the video but the vemuram is way too expensive...

Which fuzz did you use for Electric Man by Rival Sons?
I was just thinking how I’d like to see this!
His guitar is a Kauer Banshee, not a Firebird. It just looks like one :-)
Paul Beardow he plays firebirds too
That Kauer Super Chief he plays is bloody awesome too
Bruh, sounds like ‘The Amazons’ saw them at reading festival, great performance
Sound Like Silverchair
Should picked a penguin or another solid body from Gretsch.
A semi-hollowbody is not the guitar to pick for this band and with all that gain and fuzz would be unusable on stage.
They're limited by what's in the store so they might not have been able to get it.
How about sound like Sinergy (and COB)? What can you use to replicate the guitar sound Alexi and Roope had back in the days?
