I love this video. I am 74 years old and I have collected since I was 19 years old. All my Italian and classic leather, suede clothing and handbags galore.
I agree. She’s obviously a creative and has really crafted a successful brand for herself… but you definitely feel there’s SO MUCH MORE she could create for us if she had the right resources/ support.
You are the Best! 15 years ago, I had a huge hat for sun protection in the Florida Keys. As it kept flopping in my eyes, I grabbed a large, jeweled pirated pin and stuck in in to hold up one side. Got about a MILLION complements! Also, wore a vintage Gucci tie to a Christmas party years ago with the same reaction. What goes around, comes around. Happy Dress Up!
I've been watching for years and always love the inspiration. I'm feeling my old ll bean duck boots with rubber botton and leather top. I will wear with knee socks or leg warmer and pants below the knee. This is great with the blade blazer. When I go to NY this winter I will throw on a vintage fur cape that I thrifted yrs ago. Don't forget the boy style cap. I call this my Tiny Tim look from Dickens. I'm 76 and my 5 kids and 14 grands think I'm pretty cool. I have alwas kept a dress up trunk for them. I love to watch them create. Keep inspiring us no matter our age or budget.
I own a big floppy hat looks exactly like the chanel models are wearing I had it for many years I wore it the day I bought it , Im not brave enough to to wear it again my daughter has tho , you are giving me courage to play dress up thank you .
I am excited about fall and winter dressing. Two ways I like to use a tie in a different way is I use a tie on some of my hats for the band, and I use those baby hair rubber bands to tie it in the back. And I have several purses that have kind of like belt loops around the top and I weave the tie through them and tie it off like a tie. I love your color combo for what you are wearing in this video. I am also super excited that I am going to Italy in November, I have already been trying to put together some outfits. I just cannot wait to see how you style this fall. Thank you, Beth.
I'm 58 and back in the 80s in uk, I bought most of my clothes in charity shops. I wish I still had it all. I do have some amazing photos to look back on though. I still buy most of my clothes the same way...... and Vinted. I love Vinted 🙏🏻♥️
I love how you explained all these trends and showed a lot of inspiration. Can't wait for you to show us your amazing takes on them with outfits here and on Instagram. I also love (vintage) ties. I found a stunning silk fish printed Lanvin one in a Thrift Store for just 1 euro and the other day there was a lady who makes bags from ties laid next to one another. You can guess who bought one😍 and going to (re)create some looks, shopping in my own closet
Thank you Beth for sharing your thoughts and inspirations with us. It is a fab reminder that we can learn & be sparked from the designers to create our own vibe. I have so many different characters/vibes and usually just go with the how I am feeling that morning/evening. I do love your inspo board idea 💡🗝️✨💃🏼 I also adore whimsical, ruffles & tulle are a weakness, mixing up characters and layering. We are coming into warmer weather here but can always take something from your sessions. Keep rocking your dress ups & happy weekend ahead!
I never really vibe with the clown aesthetics, but I live in the English countryside so my inspiration this year is ‘country grandma’. She’s got her collection of tweed, but she’s not afraid to pair it with a cardigan she embroidered flowers onto, whilst sat in her garden with a cup of tea and some shortbread. Miss Marple staying at a large country house. Make sure you’ve got your knitting in your huge quilted tote, in case you get bored of all the horse talk.
I’m inspired by the Delia Deetz’s character in better juice. I love the color block spooky moody modernist too she wears and weird spooky crazy jewelry and makeup .The Deetz family is def. Our family . My 7 year old is def. Going through her Lydia phase. So fun .
You are such a fashionista. I love your style..I love the look you have on while doing this video. Designers should take notes from you. I love all your videos.
Love your character fall trend! its been several years that I say to people that if I achieve to look like an '' Old Lady (with a title) that live in her old English countryside Manor who could only afford to keep a stable boy'' I achieve my look LOL now the 3 words method is all the rage so I now say Tailored-quirky-old world at one point I was tempted to add equestrian so I'm really excited to see coming back that old Ralph Lauren look but I'm usually a little more disheveled with a dash of a really colourful ''italian'' print. So my ''lady' is a little eccentric and to remind herself of her glory day might wear this piece that was purchased abroad when she had the money to travel and get out of her rainy English country side.
Looooove this!! I always love your runway content each season, so inspiring, so many ideas and these characters are PERFECTION! I can’t wait to see you style them and play!
I thrifted an amazing maxi black leather skirt early this summer, wore it with a ribbed cropped long sleeve top and got a million complement on it. Wore with older fabric flats with mini chain mail details -theresa
Hi Beth! Love your videos. I’m wondering where else you like to pull inspiration from, besides fashion/ clothing? Other art forms? Nature? Thanks for creating videos!
Ok.. I'm pausing midway because I'm kicking myself for editing my closet too well...😕... I literally have had most of these items and have donated stuff ruthlessly due to lack of space and nowhere to wear said items and just because my style fluctuates between minimalism and playing dress up... Sigh .. oh well.. I guess I'm just going to live vicariously through your dress up content..
Hi Beth, I loved the ideas today. Loved the tie you had on. Could you show us how to assemble a tie? I can't seem to get the hang of it. I've bought some great ties lately but can't seem to tie them. Keep the ideas coming. I always play dress up.
The New York street photographer mentioned is Amy Arbus, the book is called „on the street“. She is the daughter of the also famous photographer Diane Arbus. You can find some of the photos online.
I thought the same . I studied fashion design and would make sense in thus era that designers would be watching for the influencers for inspiration and we all know that Beth is the queen of dress up and thrift. She needs more credit from designers lol 😆
I love this video. I am 74 years old and I have collected since I was 19 years old. All my Italian and classic leather, suede clothing and handbags galore.
Me too! I wish I could display the interesting and beautiful bags collected over 73 years!
Are you planning on doing a 'Thrift the Runway' series again? I loved those episodes, so inspiring!
Beth! You need to publish a book. Every character should be a chapter and photos of all of your outfits based on those dress up characters!
I agree. She’s obviously a creative and has really crafted a successful brand for herself… but you definitely feel there’s SO MUCH MORE she could create for us if she had the right resources/ support.
Yesssssss!
I'm 61 and loved dressing in the 80's ❤

Love the countryside clown aesthetic! 🤩
Many of us used our trusted seamstress. I remember those patterns that you could use to sew a complete wardrobe, the combinations were endless.
As always the most interesting and unique take on trends for the upcoming season ❤ I love your approach of fashion so much ❤

My character for fall will be art teacher meets librarian.

I love this video! Also adore what you're wearing Beth. In have a shirt like that and was going to put it on Vinted, but I'm keeping it now.

Saw a lot of vintage leather jackets on poshmark by "Terry Lewis " that look like those ruffle sleeve jackets
❤
When Will WE see your FALL Home TOUR Decor?❤️🙌🏼
Also, I heard the term “heritage prints” this fall instead of plaid or houndstooth. Ugh. -theresa

... yes, were the Designers influenced by your Chanel logo necklace.🤔😉
This video’s look gives, as Tyra would say, “Harry Potter but make it Fashion.” This is not an insult. 🫶🏻 Am I the only one who sees it?
