Update: Wow that was fast! 25 given away. Another 10 because I can't believe it. Thanks for the support everyone, hope you enjoy the boards! Update2: 25 disappeared super fast, so I added another 10, but that's about the amount of shipping and customs paperwork I can handle and they got ordered in no time. Thank you everyone for the overwhelming interest! Few boards are still available for purchase. Since I learned 6502 assembly in high school, I still have some of the hex instructions memorized. Since I move on to the Parallax Propeller, which never had a supply shortage during the pland em ic. I do like this project, especially as it is required for your prom burner, but would have rather have a real 6502 or a 6510 as those I am already familiar with.
It’s a more real 6502 than a 6510 - the 6510 has a different die, the 6507 is literally the same IC in a smaller package :) The Relatively Universal ROM Programmer works even better with an Arduino Uno and the Firestarter firmware :)
Interesting little board, I'll have to watch some of your other vid's to see more about it, unfortunately I don't have one of those CPU's, and boy is that screen small! - so I'd be looking at options/ways for a readable screen.
Brilliant concept. Once upon a time, the FlashROM programmer would have been the deal breaker for me, but after I saw the Pi Pico programmer (which is just a RPi Pico, wires, and a breadboard), that barrier to entry has been broken.
Do you offer a complete kit at least with diy assembly? The offers on your site do not seem to include all needed components and the linked components seem to be discontinued
Thanks for asking :) I have sockets and pinheaders available but ICs you’ll have to wait for or get from EBay/Aliexpress. I’m totally overwhelmed with the demand so 6507s, 6532s and w27c512s I won’t have for the next.. two weeks I suppose.
Just tried ordering, but the shop doesn't let me go past the address screen, sadly... it keeps giving a non-descript "Something went wrong.. Can you guess what it is?" error message and I can't go forward.
I'm sorry to say India isn't on the list so that makes it prohibitively expensive to send :/ (More expensive than buying 5 PCBs from JLCPCB with the coupons and having them assemble it - but that should work too :) )
Hi! I made a fix and removed some newsletter code that might've helped, but I'm not 100% sure. Chrome/Edge/Safari without AdBlock seems to have worked the best for everyone. You can still try again.
25 boards were ripped away in a few hours. Added another 10. Ripped away in an hour or two. I can't handle more international shipping within a reasonable timeframe(and I'm losing money for every one shipped even though everyone paid shipping), but I have a few more I'm willing to sell, so for now they're 9.26€. Check the description of the video.
@@codingbeast6927 It’s for the PCB with all SMD components presoldered - DIP ICs, sockets and headers not included. Other kit with sockets and headers available - old ICs sold out but easy to get from EBay/Aliexpress
Really would've like to get one of these boards but are unable to order :( Doesn't work in Firefox or Chrome with all extensions disabled and the build in privacy options for Firefox disabled.
@@AndersNielsenAA If an adapter board is needed and not just clipping pins, can I assume that there are W65C02 pins that have to be held high which don't come out on the 6507 so aren't handled by the board?
@@AndersNielsenAA Aah, yes, I downloaded an old 6507 datasheet from somewhere. '02 pins8-18 line up with '07 pins 4-14, and '02 pins 34-26 line up with pins 26 to 18, but after at it'd a rats nest of clipped pins, unbent pins soldered to bodge wires, and a resister soldered to VCC pulling up /NMI and /IRQ. But if you can get cheap NMOS 6502's easier than you can get 6507's, it might be fun for the adventurous.
Note that the breadboard version could be done on two breadboards with a 6502 without any problem, with plenty of project space to spare on the second breadboard. And at the speed that a RIOT can go, it wouldn't much matter whether it was a NMOS 6502 or CMOS 65C02.
Id love to have something like this with a display out. Just having computers that emulate others that are getting prohibitively expensive is a good idea 😅
I'd like to make my QK-1 project a reality. I did make an emulator that runs in the web browser, to serve as an "analog"/reference to what the physical thing would be.
"somethingg went wrong, can you guess what it is?" No, web-store, I've got no clue. lol I tried anyway. :( (edit: yeah even trying to create an account won't work, not sure if it doesn't like brave browser, my address, or how I entered my phone number. I can't even *buy* one at the moment.)
Looks like fun, though, hope you guys that do get one have fun with it. (nope, firefox doesn't work either. I admit defeat. I'd assume they're all gone by now anyway, it's been like 50 minutes)
Hi, I', Erik Van den Broeck, I tried to order 1xRockwell R6507P (Used), 1xWinbond W27C512 (Used) and 1x65uino Kit (SMD, pinheaders and sockets incl.) but cannot get past your "My Shipping Information". i 'd be glad to pay the 18.93euro, how do I proceed?

Also, I have another project in the works that should even make the 13.5V programmable ROMs cheap to program.. As a hat for the 65uino! :)
@@AndersNielsenAA Excellent. I'm also looking at getting an upgraded Sweet16 VM into the ROM so that code in RAM can do more in the limited space.
looks like I was too late for the coupon code, but ~$6 to ship from Denmark(?) is a cheap price to pay for such a cool piece of hardware

I got the same issue! disable you ad-blocker, it solved my issue.
It's the AdBlock - I think it's triggering Recaptcha.
@@AndersNielsenAA My adblock is off and it still seems to have an issue.
Same message or something different? Orders are going through, so maybe a different browser?
@@AndersNielsenAA Was using Firefox. It finally worked in Chromium.
Can u use a 6504 with it to get interrupts?
Yes - but it takes a cut and a bodge wire :) They’re more rare so I haven’t had a chance to try myself :)

That's really strange. Chrome without AdBlock should work without issue.
I've also seen problems with phone numbers containing other characters than digits and +
wow, just got some of those chips last month, better get one of your boards... 😃
does this only work with the 6507? I have a bunch of 6502s already and prefer to use one of them instead of buying a 6507 if they're compatible.
You'll need a pretty elaborate adapter board to convert the 40 pin 6502 into a 28 pin 6507 - but technically, yes :)
@@AndersNielsenAA If an adapter board is needed and not just clipping pins, can I assume that there are W65C02 pins that have to be held high which don't come out on the 6507 so aren't handled by the board?
Yup, the 6507 doesn't have IRQ and NMI so those need to be pulled high.
