Good video, I am currently going thru this. Broke down the reef, caught and moved all fish to a tank in garage where they are being treated with copper whilst main display is fishless. Going on about 50 days now...takes discipline!

Unfortunately I have had a terrible experience with Ich. Started my reef tank 5 months ago, and ended up getting two clownfish. One passed away due to velvet/ich and the other one stayed healthy. Due to my inexperience after 5 weeks had passed since my first fish, i decided it was fine to get another clownfish. This one the day after i bought it showed signs of ich but fought hard and was eating well. Fast forward 3 weeks, i bought a cleaner shrimp, who i think took advantage of my sick clownfish who still wasn't 100% and there goes another fish. I've decided now i wont buy any more fish sadly. I have no means to quarantine my fish in my display tank for 72 days to get rid of the ich, and then i worry my fish will still have it somehow and will bring it back into the tank.

Eric Rapelje Unfortunately as long as you still have fish in the system you will always have it sometimes the fish can fight it off if their immune system is good but unfortunately from time to time you will probably still see it and it can come back with a vengeance it’s never truly gone unless you starve it out

@@CandyCoralAquatics If i remove the fish, wont the ich be on the fish and contaminate the new tank i put it in?

Cleaner Shrimp eat hermit crabs when they get bigger and I do not consider them reef safe. They are absolutely useless to removing parasites when big. Cleaner wrasses are excellent helpers as long as you feed them raw shrimp or clams, foods that they can bite pieces off as they will bother your fish too much otherwise, especially if you have not very much fish in your tank.
