I would think new strings would cost a whole lot more considering there is 4 cams?

On the cable stops......on a Prime bow the bottom cam is the control cam. So aslong as they are in time, set the bottom cam cable stop to the desired layoff then match the top cam too it

The cams are synchronized by the cables. They are timed by using a straight edge or string stretched across the outermost timing marks. If the timing is set correctly all 4 marks will be inline.

Watch the serving that runs through the barrels and if you ever have a nock pop or dri fire the bow the cams will crack where the strings attach. For those of us that like a specific holding weight the slots for the draw stops are a simple way of achieving it.

Excellent review and I whole heartedly agree on the vibration or “hand shock,” topic. It’s a piece of equipment that a lot of energy is being released through in a very, very short amount of time. Also, the stabilizer thing……some people buy a 4.4lb bow and add pounds of stabilizer. I applaud prime for taking a lot of the stabilizer need out of the set up.

Being a 30inch draw myself it was hard to find a good bow. Glad you found one you like. I’m stuck with the crossbow now after I lost a fight with a table saw. I’ll all ways be a fan of the stick and string. Good luck to Brunk Outdoors crew in 2021. Gods speed to ya all. 👍🇺🇸

Sorry to hear about the injury, I’m happy you’re still able to enjoy archery! God bless ya!

Nice video. I did the custom order & paid more & it took 9 weeks. No favoritism on price.. Being up here in MN I know that they had a severe spike in Covid cases in Michigan during that ordering period so that might have something to do with it. Regardless alot of bow shops r hurting bad due to manufacturing delays. Really like the First Lite riser with the Sitka limbs. Always want to hide in plain site. With my 30" draw I would like to add a little more letoff since I think my anchor point is just a hair off & the last bow I hunted with had a higher letoff so I'm going to try tinkering with that next. No issues with the grip. I love the Prime grip & I was concerned about the feel of this new grip until I shot it. I think it's a game changer. I have a CT-5 that I haven't picked up yet which had the free strings & cables put on it after 2 years. That only took 3 weeks. I felt when I drew the CT-5 that maybe during the 1st half of the draw cycle that my open hand naturally torqued the bow a bit but not @ full draw. There is no torque with the Nexus 4 which surprised me especially since it has that new grip. The Nexus 4 also feels more similar to the Prime Centergy I hunted with last year due to the smooth draw cycle. It will be interesting to see if
I can get the speeds with a heavier arrow around 515 to 535 grains like I did with the CT-5. 265 fps @ under 65 lbs. There is a little resistance on the CT-5 that last couple of inches just b4 the letoff that I didn't notice with the Nexus 4. One of the least mentioned efficiency pros on the Prime. The CT-5 is a burner when tuned to the right poundage. If I can get that with the Nexus 4 with the ease & zero nock travel of the Centergy than I will have the best of both worlds. I'm glad I ordered early in February cuz there is plenty of time to tweak everything to accomplish the objective. I have shims & they weren't needed. Prime does shoot 100 shots through these bows b4 they ship so they also r pre-tuned. I just get the middle of the shaft set to 13/16" from the riser. Very little fine tuning on the Prime. All comes down to putting the right arrow into the setup. I'm going to be experimenting with 250 & 300 spine micro shafts. So far the results r encouraging but I'm not there yet.

I agree that vibration free sells bows in a test range but in the long run doesn’t matter much. I also agree that every prime I’ve ever shot just seems to make a different noise than other bows. Hopefully this one brings you the luck that the realm x did Trevor!

It’s definitely an easy way for people to judge bows in the shop! I hope it does well, still tinkering with it and new arrows/fletching configs. I still have the RealmX as I am kind’ve superstitious hahaha I’ll have the RealmX as a backup this year, it’ll come out of the stable if the prime knocks down a big buck haha

Xpedition has the same adjustable draw stops and it is a bit weird at first but you can really adjust your let off, holding weight, and fine tune your draw length

I’ve got some wicked strong buzz/sound on my new nexus 4. Any ideas?

    • @BrunkOutdoors
      @BrunkOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

I'd make sure all the screws were tight on the cams. I actually have noticed 2 things that I will make an update on this bow. 1. the top left cable rubs the top left cam at full draw and 2 the bow is loud, and the only thing I have been able to find is it seems there's a slight buzz from my top cam that no matter how much I tighten or add loc tight to the screws it doesn't go away.

@@BrunkOutdoors thanks for the reply! I’ll tighten em down! Yeah from what I’ve heard they are just noisier. I did order a different strong stop so maybe that will help a little bit.

@@BrunkOutdoors the stock string stop may be your culprit. I switched my string stop out for a Hi-Tek string stop and it made a huge difference

I was recently watching one of your videos about your Nebraska turkey hunt. Me and a buddy of mine are planning a trip up their next spring and I was curious if you had any tips/areas to look for? Btw great videos keep up the good work!

Dont know if you noticed but there is a world wide pandemic, thats why it takes longer to get stuff everywhere if its in stock.

Don’t know if you understood, but my point is a new truck was built faster than a bow. Way more parts to stock and build on a truck than a bow.

@@BrunkOutdoors the issue for prime is they use an Italian made aluminum, which had the massive lockdowns, so it was a raw materials issue. Also Michigan had lots of lockdowns as well.
