I hate when I-Fans says that "Only Knetz critizice bodies", But when a female Idol (for example) lost weight, they start to body-shame her saying "she looked healthier before" or "I'm scared of her body".
@PerrySport I think there was a misunderstanding, but that doesn't mean that she's crying like a little baby. I also think that saying that "something isn't right up there in your dome" is a little bit too aggressive. You are being very rude and even though she wasn't rude to you. It is true that people criticize others, but that doesn't mean that you have to voice your opinion if someone doesn't ask for it. I think that's what she meant and you didn't have to react the way that you did.
@Yuuko Sensei why would you keep quiet ? Even if it hurt the person they need to face the reality. Do you notice that those that say that sunmi is too skinny and that she's just bones are seen as bad people while others that say: I'm scared for her weight I hope she eats more are seen as good people and that they are seen as concerned even tho these too examples are the same shit but with different word choices. If you see an underweight person are you just going to stand there and watch till they die or are you going to tell them that they need to change even if you know they will get hurt? I bet you have done the same Do you know what I mean? I might be taking this a little further then what it needs to be but I can't help myself to get to that direction
@@cristaljustice4534 if someone is underweight to the point of being near-death, that is THEIR personal problem. it is up to them and their family to deal with their health issues. none of our business, no need to comment anything that may be negative.
@PerrySport well, you have to consider what is being changed to. If what you are changing is solely for the sake of others and it sacrifices your self respect/confidence/happiness then most definitely DON'T do that. However, if the change you are making is for self improvement and your chosen path to happiness (such as seeking therapy for a mental disorder, getting rehab for addiction, quitting a stressful job etc.) but even so I wouldn't call people who change for others "weak". Is it really a weakness just to want to be liked by other people??? In my opinion, not really. I'd say just don't make your entire life revolve around pleasing others, and change just to improve yourself, whether it's in terms of health or your own happiness
Some of it definitely stems from jealousy and no one is going to admit to that. Easier to just throw shade at someone because you can't look as good as them, etc.
What a great point. 👌🏻 Yes those people are just sick af to control other people, they are manipulators and probably have tons of problems with themselves resulting in being a pain for others.
They want others to be miserable, because they themselves feel sad and so they want to bring others down with them. Sunmi is strong though, i'm sure she will do what's right for her.
Tbh everyone. Not even if ur and idol everyone wants to criticize each other to feel good about themselves. Instead we should just support each other and love ourselves. It seems that a lot of us don’t
She is clearly skinny but top heavy. I did notice that she gained weight in the cheast but also the stomach and arms! Totally normal for a skinny 'apple' to get a larger chest
what i thought as well! she tends to gain weight in her torso/chest and that's normal since some people gain there rather than in their bottom half. people just- ugh i get so tired when people say stuff abt her weight cos she's perfectly healthy if they would stop forcing her to gain weight😔 also is it just me or she seems so much happier during pporappippam promotions☺💖
I'm the same. I'm a rectangle body type (my shoulders, hips and torso are almost the same width) and I gain weight mostly on my torso and arms. My boob size can get noticeably bigger if I ever gain weight. I can relate to sunmi so much cause I was body shamed since I was very young, I always had a skinny body and was ridiculed for not gaining weight. People outright said my body is ugly, unattractive, not feminine enough, it looks as if I'm sick or anorexic. People said that to my face without any shame.
@@loen2629 that's horrid :( ur beautiful hun don't listen to them💕 i hope ur much better now, all body types are beautiful and the people who don't think so, well ride ur *ss outta the milky way😤 hope u have a great day🌈💖
@@loen2629 I completely relate! I've been slim my whole life and people will talk negatively about my slimness with me right in front of me, it's like, I'm right here you know? If I do gain weight I definitely notice my chest will get bigger vs anything else. I've gone through ups and downs with my body sometimes I'm happy with my slimness other times I'll be frustrated. At the moment I'm working with a nutritionist to try gain some weight as though I am healthy, I know i am slightly underweight as well. I'm just hoping I can be able to be happy with myself for the most part after my journey! But don't worry I'm planning on taking it slow and making sure I'm not just forcing myself to eat
This has probably been said before but I hate the comments saying "men don't like this kind of body" and "you need to gain more if you want me to like you". It's hilarious how some people think women only want to look good to please men.
@PerrySport for me i looked in the mirror n felt like my skin's kinda dull so i use makeup, and it's really fun like today i can have pink lips, tomorrow i can have red lips and so on. Also pfft don't men like women who's pretty without makeup? then why would we women use it only for y'all men to ridicule us lol
I feel so bad for her. It's obvious people are jealous of her natural thin body frame. I hope one day she stops caring what others think about her and starts enjoying herself more. She's super talented and pretty! I'm rooting for you, Sunmi!
To the person who commented “being judged is a part of the job.....” like no honey you just put a constructive criticism about their singing or rapping but never on their shape or how they look these things cannot be controlled by anyone it is just gifted by god so to anyone you just don’t have the right to say she is ugly or not pretty or anything
Agreed! Constructive criticism is "she sings good but I think if she changed ____ it could be better" not "she needs to lose weight" because that's not constructive!
Tbh, the person is right... Being judged is part of the job, BUT that doesn't make it okay. There are simply people who bash idols with no regard for their wellbeing and no wish to see them flourish and improve... It's not right, those people are in the wrong, but that's just the way it is.
Things look to have gotten a lot better for Sunmi since 2019 because she gained weight so the haters had to shut up, but they're just moving onto other things now. I highly doubt Sunmi got any kind of surgery on her breasts or forehead, they don't look any different than before, push up bras are a thing lol. Sunmi doesn't need to gain or lose weight for anyone but herself so I wish people would stop expecting her to become a completely new body type for gaining a few extra pounds she's just gonna shed in a few months because it's not sustainable for her.
Hey! I have a question. I can't find BTS's suga weight loss video anymore. Is it deleted? If so, why? I liked it :(. Also can you update on Jimin's weight loss video? Sorry for asking to much.
Ahhh sorry for another question but did you remove the seolhyun aoa video? Is it being updated? Oh and thank you for all your videos by the way! I’ve been watching them since 2018 and really enjoy them😊
Hii!! I love your videos and you are doing an AMAZING job at it. I have a video idea, maybe you are interested, it's about seungeun from BVNDIT, she is very thin, it doesn't look natural
Also, ppl can gain/lose weight from chest. It's natural our breasts are made out of fat... when you lose from your body overall, your chest size can change too. Korean netizens love to jump out in the comments and accuse idols of plastic surgery smh
@@helingunes955 yeah, your chest is actually one of the first places where weight gain/loss is noticed because (unless you're a bodybuilder lmao) it's mainly fat there and there's no muscle that could be confused as fat (vice versa) like with your thighs or other places
I don't get why people aren't understanding that she's naturally like that! I have a friend who said she tried to gain weight by extreme binge eating and still lost it all in a short time. how are people calling her ugly!? and untalented omfg!!
In the end, short term changes do not permanently alter your body. Just like how fatter people will rebound after a diet if they go back to their old eating habits, skinnier people will go back to their old body if they return to their old eating habits.
No adult woman is naturally that skinny. That is a complete lie. If she has thyroid issues she needs to take care of those. But there is no possible way for a body that skinny (like during Gashina or Heroine era) to be even remotely healthy. She is amazing and I love her but please stop pretending.
@instantpug how would you know? You’re Ridiculous Imagine think you know someone’s life. Just because it’s not a problem that common or something you struggle with doesn’t mean it’s not valid. You literally said “🤡”
It's sad but I feel like most western fans only like her for her weight gain and not who she is, while Koreans seem totally done with Sunmi... Her music has gotten less and less popular with every release since Noir and it hurts me when Gashina was such a legend. Her image was golden and she was bullied out of that. pporappippam is also fantastic and everyone is sleeping on her!
Yep. Western fans act like she HAD to gain weight to please them and do they buy her stuff? no, they don't stream her songs or music videos or anything. They give her a follow on IG & scream "yass queen" whenever she looks to have gained weight and thats the end of their "support"
tbh i don't think that's true. sunmi is still well known in korea and while her music isn't as well known, she appears on variety and updates on sns a lot. western fans still casually listen to her but just not how they listen to people they stan. do you know what i mean? i hope that made sense hehe. wonder girls were my first introduction to kpop so ive known sunmi for quite awhile
But sunmi is still charting rn tho. She gets less youtube views but tbh I think she's still really relevant in korea. Her song averages around #5/6 spot since it came out. The moment she drops a full album I'm certain she'll chart higher again.
*Tw:* Honestly I literally almost wanted to kill myself because I barely had the body every guy wanted i hated seeing my ribs so bad im still suffering from it after 3 years. At the beginning I was in the 80lbs and it was difficult to gain and everybody kept telling me to eat when I was really trying my hardest to gain me an my mom both have the same body we are both skinny naturally. It hurt by alot and ppl say others have it worse makes us feel that our pain isn't the same as others
@@brityoki4860 Our pain is bad on the inside too! We suffer bullying for being skinny, especially in some cultures where being curvy is the same as sexy. However, fatshaming is systemic, affecting overweight people more than just psychologically. Overweight people are denied jobs because they are seen as lazy, have to pay more for health insurance, doctors don't check on them and just say their problem is always weight, they are considered always ugly and not model material. Bullying is bad on either side, but systemic fatphobia actually kills (not because of depression or health issues, because of neglect).
Exactly...I myself really struggles to gain weight..and I feel bad for being criticized for being skinny..but I just agreed to that fact that it's better dis way than has less metabolism.
surprisingly when I went to ,Mexico last year and got to see my family in over 10 years, I expected them to criticize me for being so skinny and I thought they would try to tell me to eat all the time but they didn't and I was surprised because here in the US I'm always told that I'm too skinny and to eat more as if it's easy for me when it just isn't. They call me lucky for eating whatever I wanted to and not gain weight but I want to gain weight so I don't look like toothpicks all the time which made me lose my confidence and cover my body with sweats and goodies so they wouldn't see how skinny i am.
I don't understand some netizens. Calling someone ugly while they hide behind their usernames. Sunmi is so beautiful you can't even argue with that. Some people must have so much hate in their hearts.
They say that but they don't want all of it going straight to your stomach though. Enough for the chest, ass, thighs, arms, and legs. Pudgy belly is a no-no. But this ain't reality since everyone gains and loses differently.
also, the styling in heroine was a nightmare because she had lots of huge dresses and jumpers that made her thin legs stand out even more, whereas in lalalay and pporappippam eras the styling has fit her much better, hence less people noticing the drastic changes to her body.
but u have to remember she was abt 38kg during heroine so despite the wardrobe, she will still look skinny, just a matter of whether it's VERY obvious or just mildly obvious. no matter what her legs would have looked skinny cos she was extremely underweight at that point of time :/
Some people should just bother their own business and accept that her body works differently than theirs. She is completely healthy as long as it's clearly visible that she has more than enough energy and muscle strength. People should look out for other warnings signs.
What the h e l l does this mean. The naiveté here is astounding. Most performers (especially in Kpop) take performance enhancement drugs. Being able to get through a performance does not mean you are healthy. How were her arms during Heroine not a warning sign? Or her saying „being skinny looks better on camera“? Please.
@@instantpug7036 keep your worries for yourself then. if she were to be completely healthy, receiving all of those disgusting comments that are hidden under 'concern' would've made her even more self-conscious. you're not her mom so mind your own fucking buisness and stop talking about other people's bodies, idol or not.
It's so gross how so many hate comments mention her body "not being good for men" as if we need to shape our bodies to fit what men want... smh as if we care what men think
With women in general you’ll get shamed whether your fat or skinny. When women who are overweight lose weight the public always think that they went through something bad or they criticize them for not losing enough weight. And when overweight people go to the gym they get ostracized for wanting to get healthier. When a skinny women is just naturally skinny they tell her to gain weight and when she does they start criticizing her saying she’s gained too much weight. And then when she loses weight people automatically think she’s starving herself. There is no winning when it comes to women. We are told that certain body parts need to be bigger or smaller in order to feel beautiful.
19:03 I dont know if this is a mistranslation. But to this person, dont put kids and sexy in the same sentence. Also, I hate it when people say "Men know this body isn't attractive" or "I dont like this type of body". Like okay? Did anyone ask about you or anyone else's opinion?
No they don't mean kids like Children, the word is often used at young adults. It's a derogatory term like calling someone you don't know "honey". It's a way to look down on celebrities by calling them "kids" because it implies they're immature or stupid.
Can we just stop shaming people about their bodies at all?? It hurts seeing Sunmi question herself like this because I'm sure a lot of people who have trouble gaining weight look up to her. Skinny shaming is a real thing, but people think they are "helping" someone gain weight because no one talks about the struggle.
I really love Sunmi the way she is Her music is always bop and beautiful It just make me sad that some people only likes her because of her physical appearance and not her talent Cmon peeps Sunmi is a complete package ( she got the talent, the cuteness and sexiness, being pretty no matter what, a lovely personality and attitude and most of all she really loves her fans so so much) Stan The Queen ! ❤
I remember when I watched Wonder Girls - Candle dance practice I thought that she had nice curves on top for a skinnier girl so it did not surprise me at all when she gained weight and got bigger boobs. She is just built that way. The legs are so long that it's hard to make them bigger. I feel so sad that she thinks people find her gross. I understand the urge to call skinny people ugly when you get scared that you could never be that skinny, but it is still so wrong! She is gorgeous! Naturally skinny girls are beautiful and that doesn't make bigger girls any less pretty. They can all be admired just the way they are! With Sunmi her legs are so amazing and I love the way she looked in that white dress on Gashina's live.
as someone who have been skinny shamed i relate to sunmi alot. i always eat alot since i want to gain weight and become so happy when i gain even five pounds. now i dont care and just dont eat as much cause i was never a big eater to begin with, everything was to gain weight that's all.
Overall people feel too safe behind a screen they think they have all the power to criticize a person with no evidence or clear knowledge of them. 99% of those people who comment and upvote wouldn't even be able to approach or criticize her face to face because it would sound so silly and stupid in real life! Sunmi is a hardworking individual who doesn't need to focus on the toxicity of cowardly people and instead thrive and stay healthy knowing she is the one who knows and loves herself best.💖💖 She's an artist not a doll- her music and albums are all bops!
even her own fans put her in a difficult situation, always talking about how she's so skinny when SHE said she's naturally thin and not to worry about that but they terrorized her comments sections in ig posts
Watching this 23 minutes long video and reading those hate comments towards her made me so stressed, really. I can't even imagine how they (idols) feel terrible at that moments ;( why people are so jealous, rude and got a lot of hate( If you don't like her, just ignore. why do you have to pour your hate energy everywhere. Get your life c'mon. she is a human, not a robot.
I was LITERALLY having the thought of your analysis on Sunmi a few moments ago! Sunmi is just perfect the way she is. As long as she’s healthy, why the fuss? I shouldn’t be surprised that people just can’t seem to understand that people can be born naturally thin..
sunmi has always been absolutely gorgeous to me, not only from the outside but also from the inside. her beauty shines in every single way ♥ i'm so glad i'm her fan!
I'm so sick of people being so stupid "is it possible to gain weight on the chest" yes stupid... because chest is what ? Fat, so yes when you gain weight you gain boobs too (itworks the same for boys) Or comment like "isn't she tired to talk about her weight"... dude, y'all ar the ones who constantly bring her weight as the main subject duh... Omg these people makes me feel so mad lol I do think when Sunmi was the thinnest she ever been, for her health it will probably be better for her to gain some weight, but I wasn't commenting it on every f****in photos of her. Sometimes keeping your thoughts for yourself is fine too pple... She's trying so hard to please everyone and I'm afraid it can make more arm ro her health than anything. But I think since Heroine she's being even more lovely, we can feel she's enjoying stages, and she looks healthier, just like you says her frame makes her thin so the most important thing is for her to be at a weight that it healthy for her body frame, not a weight people want her to have. If she's doing all fine at 49kg then she's doing all fine just let her rest with that subject really... Sunmi is really one of the most impactful and interesting solo artist I love, she have very cool songs, with unique choreographies, she's inspiring, I just hope people to wake up and realize that we need a little bit more tolerance and benevolence now and not another tons of judgement & hate. Fighting for all the kpop artist
You can never win/ satisfy people like seriously. I’m so happy that she is staying true to herself and doing what she wants for herself. Because at the end of the day she is her own person. People will come and go but those who truly love her will stay and always support her through thick and thin!! Support Sunmi for who she is!!💜✨ enjoy her music and her amazing personality. Okay, 20:32 “is there anything else for her to talk about than her weight?” Isn’t that what y’all are doing too? These negative ass people are seriously attacking her weight/looks every time she comes back. They see her still succeeding despite their harsh words so what else do they have to go off on? Exactly her weight. I’m pretty sure if she didn’t get hated on because of her weight she wouldn’t even talk about it!! I’m sorry but when I saw that I got triggered. Please be kind to one another because we are all human beings💜💜
Once, I even yelled at my thin friend “Do you know what it’s like being skinny your whole life!?” That got awkward because she obviously did. It’s hard being a stick. And no matter what...people point something out about you. I finally felt better after I binge ate and gained a lot of weight. But I slimmed down again. I feel like I have a kids body type. This video made me cry because I felt like my role model and I had something in common. Ha! Corona got me telling my life’s story on TH-cam
@@apaiaa dont invalidate someone else, were all struggling with body image seeing as the ideal body seems unacheiveable with it being in and out of trends, yes BODY types are trends. so everyone struggles, seeing as now, being thick and curvy is the new “”trend””, skinny girls are allowed to feel insecure, everyone is allowed to feel things, dont let your jealousy hinder your morals.
*My younger sister used to have this problem when younger.* I still remember the days my mom used to force her to eat way more than she could take to the point where she was crying every dinner. She didn't enjoy eating as she started seeing eating food as chore. And I remember feeling sorry for her and later on fighting with mom when I got a little older about this. We went to multiple doctors as her BMI was indeed on the lower side but the doctors said that it was normal and that was just her natural metabolism and body proportions. Still people always judged her and made her really self conscious to the point where she believed she would never be beautiful unless she gained weight. A 6-7 year old child! Now she slightly gained weight on her tummy and people say she is 'fat' and looks 'pregnant'. *Moral of the story* : do not give a single *FUCK* , don't waste your time trying to please dumb people as they will always have something to judge you about.
"So jealous that she has a fast metabolism. Even eats at night to gain weight on purpose. I gain weight no matter how little I eat --" That's a mood of the day 🤣 Lol I even gained weight just by breathin 🤣
everyone has their own problems. I'm friends with a lot of people like Sunmi, and they have body image issues of their own. Just because I had problems being overweight, doesn't mean that one struggle is better or worse than the other.
@@chinesemimi that's right. i have really skinny friends and they get thinshamed even more openly and people criticise them for feeling bad about their bodies. they also have problems finding clothes that fit them and even the boys openly make fun of their lack of cleavage/butt.
mood, i cant imagine how hard it would be to be shamed for having a fast metabolism. I actually would love to have the metabolism she has since im currently trying to lose weight
Why can't people just enjoy good music and be entertained by the performances made for us to consume....mostly for free. Why do you need to scrutinize people's body for that. She's an artist, treat her like one and appreciate or form opinions about her art. Blissfully ignorant people will have the argument that "her body is also up for debate as she is using it for her performances" or that "it's something she will have to live with as it's just part of the business". First of all a person of any body type or from any background or situation can become famous for their sheer talent and charisma. So you can rule out her body type as I was still able to enjoy her music and performances without even really noticing how "sickly" thin she looked. Watching this video is the first time I even came to know about the hate she got. You can't expect the sun to stop shining just because it doesn't look good, just like you cannot stop a talent like Sunmi from shining because she is one of the rare artists that will always continue to be relevant. Second, why should artist especially female artist expect this kind of scrutiny and hate on something as personal as their bodies. If you don't like it then it will be so easy for you to stop watching them. It isn't something that the artists should deal with, it is the public's responsibility to at least treat them like fellow human beings. The public needs to learn to not judge others, the public should be ashamed to let something like this to be perfectly normal for all celebrities, male and female to face. IT SHOULDNT BE NORMAL FOR A CELEBRITY TO RECIEVE HATE. You can dislike someone and still respect them, you can have a difference in opinion and still respect or treat them like another human. Hating someone for doing something that has not affected your life isn't normal. All she does is for herself and for the people who truly support her. If she wants an education, if she wants to leave or rejoin wonder girls, if she wants to be successful by doing what she clearly loves the most (otherwise she would have quit a long time ago), if she wants to eat or to not force herself, is not something anybody should hate on. It's her life and she is free to do what she wants. the public in the mean time is free to form opinions on the art that she has put out and made public. SHAME ON THE PEOPLE WHO SAY AND DO SUCH THINGS OUT OF HATE, SHAME ON THOSE WHO LOVE TO FUEL THE FIRE, SHAME ON THOSE WHO HAVE JUST ACCEPTED THIS AS NORMAL. I honestly dont get how can someone hate on celebrities. There is war, famine, natural calamities sickness, etc. in the world....why is a single person's lifestyle more important that these actual problems. At least she is trying to be productive and contributing her positive talent into the world. What have you contributed to the world? ..................that's what I thought. So shut up and grow up a little.
My husband likes girls with thicc bodies and even he admits Sunmi is a bombshell. People are just jealous of her metabolism and are salty about WG. Sunmi is queen and perfect no matter what she looks like.
Moral of the story: don’t bring up her weight. In any way. “You’re a beautiful weight” or whatever. It’s counter productive. If you want to leave some positive comments, you can say things like “You’re so pretty, you’re so stunning, your makeup suits you, I love [insert song] so much, you sang so well at this concert, I love watching your music videos, your appearance on this show was so cool or funny, I’m so excited for your next comeback,”, etc. Or, since she’s just had a comeback, talk about the song, the album, make puns with purple and night or things, talk about shows shes recently been on, etc. There are much better things to talk about than weight. In any circumstance.
I'm so glad you bring attention to those idols who also recieve hate for being skinny😭like the kpop industry gives hate to those who they consider too fat or too skinny, and it's sad thin shaming isn't talk about as much
Why are people so stupid? She explained herself over and over again, and they didn't listen to her, they didn't want to, they just wanted to live in their own fantasies so they ""had an excuse"" to hate on Sunmi so they would feel better about themselves, being selfish and assholes. Those people don't even care if she's healthy and happy or not
While I’m over here thinking she’s one of the prettiest idols. 🤷🏻♀️ people suck period. I hope she ignores the haters as as it is. I hope she knows that she does have fans that actually truly support her no matter what
I have the same issue, very fast metabolism, skinny genes run in both my mum and dad's side. I've gotten the "you're way too skinny" "you should eat more" "do you have medical problems" one too many times. But I've learned that it's MY BODY and no one but me has to like it!! I decide wether it's beautiful or not and as long as I'm healthy then it damn well is. I LOVE SUNMI ♥️ What a talented, brave, hardworking woman. All those haters can go screw themselves, because that mentality is the most unsexy thing I've ever seen. And women who shame other women: y'all good? Making someone hurt will not ease your own pain. Fix your own selves.
When someone starts out chubby and the goal is to lose weight, an extreme calorie deficit will make their metabolism drop and will cause them to crave more food and the result will be that they gain back more weight than they lost. However, if someone starts thin and the goal is to gain weight, it is equally hard because this person doesn’t get hungry enough to gain weight. Their metabolism surges from the extra food and as a result might want to eat less afterwards, often falling back to their starting weight or less. Eating outside of a normal range when your metabolism is stable and you don’t have a disorder is a difficult thing. As long as your body functions well, it is a healthy body and you shouldn’t try to change that.
Yes!! Im trying to gain weight, like 2-3kg and omg its so difficult to do in a healthy way and not eating junk food like😭 im not hungry enough yo eat enough calories to gain weight
Omg this, I've got Sunmi's exact body type and I'm trying to gain weight now (with the help of a nutritionist) and damn this shit is hard though, went through a few weeks of just eating a LOT because my body has to get used to eating more but it gets so difficult because you'll wake up the next day and still feel full and you just won't want to eat even if you haven't eaten much that day all the food from previous days is making it seem like you don't need as much. I'm hoping once I start with some weight training I can get used to eating more as I'll need to be fueling my body but damn it's pretty hard ay
sunmi is a fantastic and unrivaled songwriter/composer with on-stage charisma, personal leadership, and incredible kindness... but people can only see her for her body
People really wanted her to gain weight even if this mean being unhealthy for her just to please their idea of what is a perfect body They really don't understand that being healthy is the most important thing It's really irritating when they say "oh she looks so healthy" when someone loose weight (or gain for Sunmi's case) You can't know if someone is healthy just by looking at their body
@Topaz atious I'm sorry but her eating really unhealthy stuff just for gaining weight and please people is unhealthy Of course she can gain weight in an healthy way but she didn't do it, she admit it herself
I swear I hate these people that keep making comments on someone others body. She is a singer and is supposed to have a good voice, which she has indeed, and not a good body. She's not a model so why make more comments about her body. She said in an interview with Jessi that she waas on a diet to lose weight because her fans weren't happy with her body but I didn't know she had this struggles with her weight gai already so thinking back now really makes me disguisted that they even made her lose weight after gaining it and the same people being the one calling her a stick. I really hate it. I wish people could just focus on her singing ability and not her body
People are stupid, sometimes they don't know how hurtful can their comments be and sometimes they just don't care. All the love to Sunmi and thank you for doing this videos 💜💜💜
I think that Noir, in addition to being a metaphor for what people do everything on social media, has something to do with the hate she took during those years
I never thought she was going thru all this:( it’s so sad tbh. She’s always smiling and looks happy. She doesn’t deserve all the hate she gets. I think she is beautiful in whatever weight or shape she is in 💕 I just appreciate her music and the type of person she is
Im really happy that shes trying her best to gain weight for her own health, i hate how knetizens think boob jobs, butt jobs are a bad thing. So what if idols got plastic surgery? So what they got boob jobs? Thats none of their business to judge bodies with a hidden mask but they cant take care of their own health. Why cant they just accept that these idols literally get mental issues because of body shaming, whether thats fat or skinny shaming. Why cant these people who judge other bodies just judge their own. Like no one asked for their opinion anyway. Im sick of not only knetizens, but just general netizens body shaming people. Just stop, youre not benefiting yourself or anyone.
YAY an update! I was just searching for your old Sunmi video yesterday and couldn't find it. Sunmi is so gorgeous and talented no matter what her body looks like.
Can’t express how much I love Sunmi I started to cry in this video, like just leave the queen alone. If I had one thing to say to Sunmi it would be you are the most amazing person in the world you are so beautiful and your music rocks and you make me feel confident in myself💜 Thank you queen😭💜
when i was reading all those hate comments i was angry and wanted to cry because sunmi is such an amazing person and deserves all the love in the world, but people cant just seem to understand that. 😭😔 All i know is that i support her and love her just the way she is.❤ edit: one more thing is that i also respect her very much.
Leave Sunmi alone, she is an amazing women. I love her. I hate when people critic someone else weight. The same happend to Sooyoung from girls generation. She is naturally skinny and everyone made horrible comments about her weight. Saying that she is anorexic and other thing.
im also skinny and it's hard for me to gain weight. once i gained so much weight, i was quite happy but i noticed that the fat wasn't distributed evenly. my cheeks, my belly, and my thighs are the only parts that got bigger. my arms stayed the same, i looked out of proportion. that weight didn't stick around for long because i got sick and i honestly don't know what kind of illness is that but i was sick for almost a week and lost all the weight i gained. then after i recovered, i tried to gain the weight that i lost again but when i was 2kg away from my goal, i got sick AGAIN. it was the same sickness as the first one and i lost all those weights again. so i just accept that i can't gain too much weight and be happy with my current body.
I’m so surprised watching this. Seeing how well Sunmi’s comebacks are received I presumed she was well respected in the industry and seen as a veteran idol that was expected a certain level of respect. I’m so shocked after watching this video.
i'm happy that sunmi doing well this past few days. Keep ignoring them sweetie we love you no matter what you are and we always support you what makes you happy.
gaining weight is also not easy for thin people like us. it may run in your family, having high betabolism and so much more. we are NOT starving ourselves.
I am overweight and I think losing is hard, but…thinking about it, we all assume gaining is fun because you can just eat whatever you want, right? No. When she eats whatever she wants, she stays thin. She has to literally gorge on unhealthy food to get to a higher weight. That doesn’t sound fun at all, in fact I’m now realizing trying to gain weight is probably way more unpleasant than trying to lose it. I get a little scared by super skinny types, especially when tall, but the things those netizens say about her are horrific, who would ever write these things about other people. In my opinion, if she can’t gain weight in a healthy and ok way, she shouldn’t have to gain at all. I can’t imagine trying to force down food when I’m full 😭
I like her for her, not her body. I always thought she was thin, and questioned if she was unhealthy when I first got to know her.. but found out it was all natural and she's been like that. I hate it when people judge her based on her weight. I hate it more when people get sick of her for talking about it, saying that judgement comes with being an idol.. like, obviously it does, no matter who the celebrity is. But it is one thing to judge someone based on their job or something they've said, and it's another thing to flat out bully someone to make themselves feel big and powerful. I hate people like that, because they are undeniably toxic, and their comments are extremely unnecessary. If their goal is to hurt someone and make fun of them, especially on social media.. then they do not deserve to have an account to begin with. I wish people would be held responsible for their actions, because they do have consequences, and this is an example. Though we don't know who they are, it shows their character, and I hope to never meet someone like that in real life. I give props to Sunmi for standing her ground, and doing what she wants/loves at the end of the day. Through all of the backlash, she was able to come out stronger and prouder of who she is, and I hope she never forgets how beautiful she is inside and out. And if people want her to stop mentioning her weight, then maybe they should stop talking about it since it's obviously a hot/controversial topic. She probably hates talking about it too, but she's only doing it because that's all some people seem to care about. I care about how she feels, not looks. And if she's happy making amazing songs, than that's all that matters. We shouldn't hold weight to this high level when an idol has a comeback. Sure, weight and style is a big part of their image.. but it's how they act and feel when they have a comeback that makes me want to come back for more. I hope all people can support their idols the way a fan should, instead of acting like a fool because they're jealous. Idols are humans too with feelings. Words do hurt, so they should think more wisely before speaking. Sorry for my long explanation 😂😅
People shouldn't change to please other people, no matter how bad they talk about you if you're happy CONTINUE HOW YOU ARE AND DON'T CHANGE! I'm also thin and I've heard a lot of criticism about it but I will never change just to please others, I feel good like this and I'm like this, if people don't like it, it's their problem. I accepted myself the way I'm, and I will not change for anything and for anyone, I'm beautiful the way I'm! And you are also beautiful no matter if you are fat or thin It's not easy to accept and love yourself, it took me YEARS to learn to love myself...But you will all succeed, it's difficult but it is not impossible! Believe in yourself guys💞✨
Coming from someone who also has BPD (borderline personality disorder, which she just announced in late 2020) and also struggles to gain weight, I can imagine how horrible it must be for her to have so many people criticizing her all the time. Usually with BPD your self image changes constantly and for some is the clothing style or other not so drastic things, but for others like myself (and probably sunmi too) it's the body "goals". It's already hard enough having just 3 or 4 people saying something negative, but having millions... And I also want to add that usually feeling abandoned or criticize can easily burst a depressive episode. And if it keeps going it can lead to a suicidal episode (where you are constantly having the disire to cut or hurt yourself) or to a suicide attempt. So PLEASE if someone ever reads this, be careful to what you say to people with BPD or any other mental health disorder because it can end really bad. And btw just simple comments like "oh you look anorexic" or "you have really gained some weight" can lead to one of those episodes, so be nice!
I've been living in Korea for nearly 2 years. When I was living in the Philippines, I was judged negatively because I'm skinny and even in Korea I've experienced being looked at from head to foot and then laughed at. I tried different ways to gain weight which I did gain weight (I'm 5'3, now 60 kg.) but I stil look skinny(my legs and thighs with bulgy tummy LOL). I gained 10 kg. in a year and as a result I am suffering from PCOS.Dealing with body insecurity is exhausting.I see myself as ugly because I hate my skinny body. But I'm learning to accept myself because I am the ONLY person who can love myself unconditionally!
maybe her metabolism is just fast, I know a girl who wants to gain weight and just seems impossible. Honestly just want Sunmi to feel happy with herself and healthy, she is one hell of an artist and deserves all the love and attention she gets and even more 💜❤️💙
I just wish people would stop commenting on others bodies, whether it's good or bad. Especially if they're in the spotlight. Because theyre not getting just one comment, they're getting hundreds at a time
One thing everyone should understand is we shouldn’t even talk about anyone’s weight. It’s ignorant to assume if someone’s unhealthy based on how skinny or fat they look and it’s frankly no ones business unless you personally know that person.
I hate when I-Fans says that "Only Knetz critizice bodies", But when a female Idol (for example) lost weight, they start to body-shame her saying "she looked healthier before" or "I'm scared of her body".
period.
So true
@Yuuko Sensei why would you keep quiet ? Even if it hurt the person they need to face the reality.
Do you notice that those that say that sunmi is too skinny and that she's just bones are seen as bad people while others that say: I'm scared for her weight I hope she eats more are seen as good people and that they are seen as concerned even tho these too examples are the same shit but with different word choices.
If you see an underweight person are you just going to stand there and watch till they die or are you going to tell them that they need to change even if you know they will get hurt? I bet you have done the same
Do you know what I mean? I might be taking this a little further then what it needs to be but I can't help myself to get to that direction
@@cristaljustice4534 if someone is underweight to the point of being near-death, that is THEIR personal problem. it is up to them and their family to deal with their health issues. none of our business, no need to comment anything that may be negative.
People shame her for being naturally skinny yet praised some idols who slimmed down to her type like SNSD yuri
that's what i don't understand too they pick artists who are allowed to "be thin" and who aren't like wth
netizens pick a struggle challenge
Some people want you to hate yourself and change yourself
The Real Sunmi fans never criticized Sunmi the way she is . Nevermind her body or her personality. The real Sunmi fans we Love Sunmi.
Her music is so inspiring bc it's so unapologetically her.
Conclusion: people doesn't really Care If You are skinny, fat, happy, unhappy, etc...people Just want to Control your life, the idol's lifes
@@loen2629 that's horrid :( ur beautiful hun don't listen to them💕 i hope ur much better now, all body types are beautiful and the people who don't think so, well ride ur *ss outta the milky way😤 hope u have a great day🌈💖
Everything goes to my stomach or would i say upper body but not arms tho. Struggle lol
Show her support by streaming her music, especially her latest comeback is a bop !!! And it’s criminally underrated
3 million is underrated?
@@kida5020 compared to her other releases, yes it is.
I love Pparappimppam!!! 😍😍
It is not underrated. Saying that when artists like SoRi or Grazy Grace are out there, struggling to get views, is disrespectful.
EYN well I know both of them and they’re queens. Well let’s under appreciated then
This has probably been said before but I hate the comments saying "men don't like this kind of body" and "you need to gain more if you want me to like you". It's hilarious how some people think women only want to look good to please men.
@PerrySport idk maybe they want to look good for themselves
@PerrySport for womens idk
@PerrySport did you really think that women put make-up just for guys? Oh fuck off. Not all women did that.
th-cam.com/video/FbTpLpeJ6ps/w-d-xo.html
Idc how much she weights or looks just seeing her happy and healthy is all i need...
Same. I love my Sunmi.
I feel so bad for her. It's obvious people are jealous of her natural thin body frame. I hope one day she stops caring what others think about her and starts enjoying herself more. She's super talented and pretty! I'm rooting for you, Sunmi!
Sunmi is so strong for going through this her whole career...
I love ur username and icon 😂 but yes, seems like it’s so hard for sunmi to overcome these things
Period.
@@chinesemimi So you want Sunmi to keep binge eating forever?
@@chinesemimi binge eating is an eating disorder just like anorexia or bulimia. All are unhealthy.
This kind of comments are so insensitive and hurtful
tbh i don't think that's true. sunmi is still well known in korea and while her music isn't as well known, she appears on variety and updates on sns a lot. western fans still casually listen to her but just not how they listen to people they stan. do you know what i mean? i hope that made sense hehe. wonder girls were my first introduction to kpop so ive known sunmi for quite awhile
and when they make up lies that she is bulimic or anorexic when she was on her natural weight.
But sunmi is still charting rn tho. She gets less youtube views but tbh I think she's still really relevant in korea. Her song averages around #5/6 spot since it came out. The moment she drops a full album I'm certain she'll chart higher again.
I really didn't know there were so many scandals about her weight, people should learn to enjoy their fav music
Exactly!
People really need to understand that thin shaming is just as bad as fat shaming.
*Tw:*
Honestly I literally almost wanted to kill myself because I barely had the body every guy wanted i hated seeing my ribs so bad im still suffering from it after 3 years.
Exactly...I myself really struggles to gain weight..and I feel bad for being criticized for being skinny..but I just agreed to that fact that it's better dis way than has less metabolism.
exactly!!!
surprisingly when I went to ,Mexico last year and got to see my family in over 10 years, I expected them to criticize me for being so skinny and I thought they would try to tell me to eat all the time but they didn't and I was surprised because here in the US I'm always told that I'm too skinny and to eat more as if it's easy for me when it just isn't. They call me lucky for eating whatever I wanted to and not gain weight but I want to gain weight so I don't look like toothpicks all the time which made me lose my confidence and cover my body with sweats and goodies so they wouldn't see how skinny i am.
15:32 broke my heart :( You are beautiful Sunmi and there's nothing wrong with being skinny when you eat plenty and have energy to dance!
Sunmi is perfect, no matter what her weight is ❤️
I don't understand some netizens. Calling someone ugly while they hide behind their usernames. Sunmi is so beautiful you can't even argue with that. Some people must have so much hate in their hearts.
"She'll gain a lot more male fans if she gains more up to 52 kg" men men men men meeeen 🙄🙄🙄
They say that but they don't want all of it going straight to your stomach though. Enough for the chest, ass, thighs, arms, and legs. Pudgy belly is a no-no. But this ain't reality since everyone gains and loses differently.
Mégane P men and westerners.
I doubt Sunmi even cares what men think at all lol. Us women adore her no matter what her weight is.
Thats literally all i-fans with any idol, anytime an idol gains weight they suddenly become stans
batman likes pizza westerners? No. We are no where near as cruel as Korean netizens. Noooo fucking way.
also, the styling in heroine was a nightmare because she had lots of huge dresses and jumpers that made her thin legs stand out even more, whereas in lalalay and pporappippam eras the styling has fit her much better, hence less people noticing the drastic changes to her body.
but u have to remember she was abt 38kg during heroine so despite the wardrobe, she will still look skinny, just a matter of whether it's VERY obvious or just mildly obvious. no matter what her legs would have looked skinny cos she was extremely underweight at that point of time :/
@@aetherdemigod even if she was underweight, as long as she wasn't using unhealthy methods to reach that weight then it's none of people's business.
She looked so beautiful in that styling though!!
are people actually saying a 38 kg woman can be healthy y‘all need therapy
@@instantpug7036 finally someone sane...some extreme weights are not healthy, no matter how they are reached... Let's just ignore reality...
@K33B she's too talented for people to focus on her body.
No they don't mean kids like Children, the word is often used at young adults. It's a derogatory term like calling someone you don't know "honey". It's a way to look down on celebrities by calling them "kids" because it implies they're immature or stupid.
@@armyisking5395 that's messed up wtf i didn't know a word could become a derogatory term to be used against people.
I really love Sunmi the way she is
Her music is always bop and beautiful
It just make me sad that some people only likes her because of her physical appearance and not her talent
Cmon peeps Sunmi is a complete package ( she got the talent, the cuteness and sexiness, being pretty no matter what, a lovely personality and attitude and most of all she really loves her fans so so much)
Stan The Queen ! ❤
As long as she is healthy.
Sunmi is a hardworking individual who doesn't need to focus on the toxicity of cowardly people and instead thrive and stay healthy knowing she is the one who knows and loves herself best.💖💖
She's an artist not a doll- her music and albums are all bops!
even her own fans put her in a difficult situation, always talking about how she's so skinny when SHE said she's naturally thin and not to worry about that but they terrorized her comments sections in ig posts
Watching this 23 minutes long video and reading those hate comments towards her made me so stressed, really.
I can't even imagine how they (idols) feel terrible at that moments ;(
why people are so jealous, rude and got a lot of hate(
If you don't like her, just ignore.
why do you have to pour your hate energy everywhere.
Get your life c'mon.
she is a human, not a robot.
Anyone saying she got implants needs a reality check. If those are implants then they are the most natural and subtle looking i have ever seen. Jeez.
Nobody except her and her doc truely know how healthy she is though, so saying "she IS healthy when she is at weight xy" is pretty dumb and ignorant
@PerrySport lol
There is nothing wrong with being slender, skinny, etc. you’re still beautiful and it doesn’t make you any less of a woman than bigger girls.
Fat, so yes when you gain weight you gain boobs too (itworks the same for boys)
Or comment like "isn't she tired to talk about her weight"... dude, y'all ar the ones who constantly bring her weight as the main subject duh...
Omg these people makes me feel so mad lol
I do think when Sunmi was the thinnest she ever been, for her health it will probably be better for her to gain some weight, but I wasn't commenting it on every f****in photos of her.
I had no idea Sunmi got and gets so much hate- I thought everybody loved her. She hasn’t actually done anything wrong that we know about.
Ha! Corona got me telling my life’s story on TH-cam
ok boohoo
@@apaiaa dont invalidate someone else, were all struggling with body image seeing as the ideal body seems unacheiveable with it being in and out of trends, yes BODY types are trends. so everyone struggles, seeing as now, being thick and curvy is the new “”trend””, skinny girls are allowed to feel insecure, everyone is allowed to feel things, dont let your jealousy hinder your morals.
@@urstruly4993 jealousy where? you know damn well y2k is coming back and what was the trendiest body during that time? skinny, slender bodies.
@@apaiaa oh my fault! got caught up in the body trends. lets see which new body type is gonna be trending this second
*My younger sister used to have this problem when younger.*
I still remember the days my mom used to force her to eat way more than she could take to the point where she was crying every dinner.
I gain weight no matter how little I eat --"
That's a mood of the day 🤣
Lol I even gained weight just by breathin 🤣
Same!
But in her case it seems like a curse😔
everyone has their own problems.
STOP.PRAISIING.IDOL'S.WEIGHT.LOSS.OR.WEIGHT.GAIN.
Just stop talking about their damn weight, they have a lottt more to them
I'm so glad you bring attention to those idols who also recieve hate for being skinny😭like the kpop industry gives hate to those who they consider too fat or too skinny, and it's sad thin shaming isn't talk about as much
She is very pretty her style is immaculate and her songs are bops period
Gosh, I can't even finish this video. It was too hurtful. Even just a spectator, I'm already hurt. Imagine, the pain inflicted to Sunmi 😭😭😭
SUNMI DOESN'T DESERVE THIS PLS SHE'S LITERALLY MY QUEEN BYE
Yes!! Im trying to gain weight, like 2-3kg and omg its so difficult to do in a healthy way and not eating junk food like😭 im not hungry enough yo eat enough calories to gain weight
lia c Exactly! And it doesn’t help that healthy food is very filling compared to junk. Good luck on your goal!!
I'm hoping once I start with some weight training I can get used to eating more as I'll need to be fueling my body but damn it's pretty hard ay
i love her a lot, she dont deseve this hate.
sunmi is a fantastic and unrivaled songwriter/composer with on-stage charisma, personal leadership, and incredible kindness... but people can only see her for her body
Thank you for making this video because I was of c oblivious to what Sunni was going through. Girl, you are beautiful. You do YOU
Sunmi is beautiful, talented, unique, and a QUEEN.
I don't get why people hate.
Sunmi is so stong and talented!
She is one of my favorite solo artists! Her voice, dance and aesthetic WOW!
SUNMI IS BEAUTIFUL. HOW DARE THEY ALL. SHES A QUEEN. HER VOCALS, VISUALS AND HER BODY AND ALL PERFECT.
People really wanted her to gain weight even if this mean being unhealthy for her just to please their idea of what is a perfect body
They really don't understand that being healthy is the most important thing
It's really irritating when they say "oh she looks so healthy" when someone loose weight (or gain for Sunmi's case)
You can't know if someone is healthy just by looking at their body
@Topaz atious I'm sorry but her eating really unhealthy stuff just for gaining weight and please people is unhealthy
Of course she can gain weight in an healthy way but she didn't do it, she admit it herself
@Topaz atious I didn't say that tho
shes always been beautiful and she has such a big heart
Go stream her new song.
Give her lots of love.
Remind her that she is more than whatever the public wants to feed her.
I think that Noir, in addition to being a metaphor for what people do everything on social media, has something to do with the hate she took during those years
people need to respect her
Omg I can't belive someone can hate her, she is perfect just the way she is, so beautiful and talented💕
for me sunmi is one of the most beautiful and charismatic idols, it makes me sad to see these stupid comments about her😔😔😔
Some people really have no life hating on people Sunmi is amazing Talented AND Beautiful
I always thought she'd was pretty at every weight. People are just so disgusting sometimes 😡😤😤
She’s such a beautiful women and soul inside and out . I’ll always be a Sunmi fan. 💕
She is so beautiful!!!!
Support talented artists such as queen Sunmi 💜
Can’t express how much I love Sunmi I started to cry in this video, like just leave the queen alone. If I had one thing to say to Sunmi it would be you are the most amazing person in the world you are so beautiful and your music rocks and you make me feel confident in myself💜 Thank you queen😭💜
when i was reading all those hate comments i was angry and wanted to cry because sunmi is such an amazing person and deserves all the love in the world, but people cant just seem to understand that. 😭😔 All i know is that i support her and love her just the way she is.❤
edit: one more thing is that i also respect her very much.
She is so beautiful, I don’t even notice her weight because she is gorgeous. I wish she would realize that
I’m so surprised watching this.
Hwasa: *has curves*
People: Ew..she's so fat
Sumni: *naturally skinny*
People: Ew..she's so boney.
Can y'all make up your mind?
And you are also beautiful no matter if you are fat or thin
It's not easy to accept and love yourself, it took me YEARS to learn to love myself...But you will all succeed, it's difficult but it is not impossible! Believe in yourself guys💞✨
agree with u so much..
skinny shaming is just as abd as fatshaming
Performance and Quality Songs over Physique 👌
Love the Mindset
anyways, stan sunmi because she's a strong, talented and lovely human being that deservers all the success in the world. period.
Imagine bulling someone because they are thinner than you😌 cant relate go stream pporappippam💜
I never got this upset watching a video, i felt like punching the screen the entire time, i don't know how sumni manages to tolerate all this bullshit
We have the same body type I think,I totally understand you
maybe her metabolism is just fast, I know a girl who wants to gain weight and just seems impossible.
