- Katie Couric with the help of her friend, famed director Nancy Meyers, got the cast of the beloved classic “The Parent Trap” together again for the first time since 1998! Lindsay Lohan, Dennis Quad, Simon Kunz, Lisa Ann Walter, and Elaine Hendrix join Katie Couric, writer-director Nancy Meyers, and writer-producer Charles Shyer to share their memories from filming, recite their favorite scenes and discuss the film’s lasting impact. With Covid-19 continuing to ravage the globe, Katie, Nancy, and the group decided to use this reunion as an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for those in need. Katie kicks off the reunion show with a call-to-action to donate to José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen, a not-for-profit organization devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters. Please donate if you can.

Certain movies you can never get tired of. The Parent Trap was one of them. Just timeless all round. The reading of the dad scene between Dennis and Lindsay gave me all the feels!

Well bud, LiLo is gonna be in a Netflix romance comedy (rom-com) in 2022 and she will be in a thriller film alongside fellow former Hollywood problem child Mickey Rourke, who like LiLo had also gone through some legal and personal woes of his own of course. Plus, she is starting her own podcast.
Lindsay Lohan is just a natural talented actress, I hope that soon a writer will come up with another perfect script for her or she writes her own script, and just embrace it and let her talent flourish, what a performance that would be!
She does seem a lot better here. I do hope she eventually makes a comeback and manages to fully leave her drug/partying days behind her.
I want her to star in more movies like Georgia Rule, she was amazing in that film

I agree! He had such a warm, sensible paternal energy. As a kid who grew up with both parents, but oceans away from grandparents I felt the feelings all the kids of divorced or deceased parents felt but towards the grandfather. And he helped Lindsay tell the truth to her mom and paid for the boat date for the parents.
Lindsay looks great; I certainly hope she's getting back on track. Even if she never acts again, she deserves to be happy.

I think the wardrobe was amazing. The clothes the woman wore were so classically beautiful. You could still wear the outfits of the Mom and Meredith today.

My favorite childhood movie. It’s still so incredibly good. It’s also worth noting that Lindsay seems better than she’s been in years. Even in her lower moments like Georgia Rule, you really see how talented she’s been.

It took me 20 years of watching this movie to realize the "Handshake" music choice. It's "Are You the Same Girl?" The second time the handshake is done, it is Not the same girl!

My Father loved this film with a passion. Especially the score. Alan Silvestri who's known for "The Avengers" could not have done a more brilliant job. To both my Father and Natasha Richardson:

This was a perfect example of a remake that was better than the original - everything about it worked.

The Parent Trap 2, 3, and 4 were sequels to The Parent Trap (1961).
That's why The Parent Trap 1998 was nearly verbatim of the 1961 original... it was the same writer David Swift that wrote the two movies as well!

I remember when I first heard about Natasha dying. I was on an airplane and either my dad told me and then handed me the magazine with the article or I read it myself. But I cried. I was absolutely devastated. I loved her so much and The Parent Trap was one of my favorite movies growing up. It’s timeless, it’s beautiful and it’s funny. I’m so glad that it’s still popular❤

When Lindsey was re-reading her lines from the Range Rover scene, I could not get over how she sounded the EXACT same as in the movie.

i absolutely love this movie, it brings back nostalgic memories. i had to introduce my little sister to the movie and it’s one of her favorite movies now.
It was magical casting with all the cast members but Lindsay Lohan was absolutely infectiously brilliant!!! Loved the movie.
I love the moment when Hallie hugs her mother when she sees her for the first time and wants to cherish the moment. Made me cry 💛❤

Loved and still love this movie. Dennis Quaid is one of the most handsome actors ever. Lindsay made the movie what it is and it’s a bit of a shame what happened to her. She seems so together on this reunion. The supporting actors elevated the movie as well.

This absolutely warms my heart. The Parent Trap has always been one of my favorite movies and as they all said, there's something truly special about this film and its entire cast, so huge props to Nancy and Charles because everyone was so perfect in their roles. I have watched the movies countless times and each time is as if its the first time, I never feel like skipping a scene or that there is a dull transitional scene. It's such a classic and timeless story that flows so well and I am always engaged in it. I love that Dennis and Lindsay reenacted the Dad scene, something so simple yet so endearing. I love this so much.
My thumbs up for the memory of Natasha Richardson! I cry or tear up everything I hear her name, see her in a movie or see Liam! And one of their sons changed his last name to Richardson, Liam was so cool about it. What a wonderful young man to think of to do that! ❤❤❤❤❤

I hadn't been born when it came out but the parent trap forever stays one of those movies that no matter how many times we've seen, if it comes on, my family and I immediately sit down and watch it. I know every line and yet it doesn't bore me.

Makes me so happy to see how happy Lindsay looks these days! She is SUCH a talented actress! I just love her! This movie is my entire childhood! She is SO good I spent hours and hours watching it and trying to see if I could tell the difference between the twins... Until I one day realized it was played by one ONE person. So crazy but just goes to show just HOW talented she is!
