I got a 08 STX15F that's hydro locking. Just replaced all the valves in it. The cam chain tensioner broke. So took it out to test drive and UT hydrolocked on me. Now turns out I had the wrong jetpump housing on it. I had a 2012 on it. Could that cause anythinh?

How can you tell if there is damage to the case? My bearing started going bad, I noticed when I lost some top end speed but engine starts and runs fine with pump removed. I haven’t rebuild pump yet.

When you pull the pump check the PTO for end play on the crank shaft.

I have a 2014 Kawasaki ultra lx. Does mine have this problem too? How good is the reliability of this model. It only has 85 hours..

No because your year has the updated bearing setup in the pump to prevent this.

How can you tell if the jet pump bearings are failing? Any specific signs?

Metallic noise from the pump area, loss of rpm. Realistically you’re going to want to pull the pump and expect at least once per season
