You are an amazing teacher. I don't think I have ever come across a collection of videos on trading so holistic, complete and easy to comprehend as the trading 212 playlist. My mind is blown. Trading 212 is a one stop shop for getting the right software and you tube video guide for any beginner in trading. What I especially love about the app is the invest option. Awesome services, awesome teachers and an awesome customer service so far. Thank you so much.

I just saved myself from falling victim to the Norwegian Air Shuttle stock going down 21-ish% today. My stop-loss got me out at the -2-ish% mark. That's the "best" loss of money I've ever had - I was so happy!

I'm eager to learn about stocks and I've been watching a bunch of random videos. I watched a couple of yours and now I'm a subscriber. Love how you structure your videos. Your explanations are focused without entering into a breadth of topics and terms, which really help beginners like me. Thank you!

New to trading, I learned that risk should be half of the potential gain (2 to 1) as a type of risk management. I checked the 3% of my investment size rule you mentioned to a current holding I have were I set a stop using the 2 to 1 rule and considered technical support. I found that the 3% rule gave me a stop price at $147.20 and I had set a stop at $147.50 using the 2 to 1 rule. This is great for confirming my predictions and managing risk, Thanks.

What would you choose to start trading with (practice) to get used to the platorm and using stop losses, how charts move etc.? Also maybe a video/article on bid and asking rates to understand 'spread' and how these are shown on the platform so i know exactly how much will be given up on each trade to get true figures after these 'deductions'. Grouping videos into sections/skill levels on the website may possibly be beneficial. I am seeing videos on limit/stop OCO orders which I'm not familiar with yet. Or maybe even a selection of the videos you guys reccomend watching first and progressing through? Either way its all free and the content to learn from is great so thank you loads and keep it up!

It amazes me that traders make all their decisions based on the post movement of the graph especially when they have no idea whatsoever what is making the graph move in its unpredictable lifestyle. Winning and loosing trades is just like any gambling. There are no logical places to place a stop as you do not know where the graph is going next. Past movement of the graph is no indication of where its going next for goodness sake.

Why can't i set my S/L on 3744 on bitcoin while i just bought btc for 3747 for example and expect it to raise?. it says the S/L is the close to the current market price? It only allows me to set a S/L on something like 3650. Anyone who knows why i experience this (i'm a beginner using the demo currently)

I strongly disagree your 1-3% rule. That's only a good level if you're a multi-millionaire. I'm thinking more like 20-33% per trade, if you have less than $10,000 in the market. Otherwise, commissions and spreads will eat you alive. Besides, like you said previously, it's better to be an expert on 1 or 2 sectors than to have a little knowledge of many. The same goes for individual stocks, commodities or currency swaps. Focus on 2-4 of them. I'd suggest 20-33% in each one and 20-33% in cash, if you have between $1000-$5000 in the market. The trading commissions and spreads alone will be more than 1%. If you have less than $1000 in the market, it should be more like 50-100% in each one.

Hi Jeff. I think you have hold of the wrong end of the stick here. When I talked about 1-3% I meant the amount to lose on every trade, not the total position size/exposure. So let's say you have a $10,000 account and only decide to risk losing 3% on a trade. That means that any loss should only hit your account for $300. You decide to buy XYZ share with a 10% stop loss. So you should buy $3,000 of that share in this example as your loss, assuming that 10% stop loss, is only going to be 3% of the account. Hope this explains it.
