I feel like the sad thing about affinity is that cards will come along that make the deck really strong. Then another deck or multiple decks will take that same card and make it broken and lead to it being banned (beanstalk/mox opal). It's probably just a matter of time for Urza's Saga to meet the same fate. The deck really just needs cards that only work in affinity which sounds impossible but thought monitor and sojourners companion are great cards in that direction.
Honestly Saga is fine for now and is held back by the decks its played in which is the way it should be, it enables a few types of decks and its one of the better outcomes of powercreep in the format...for now
Hey. I belive there are still some cool options to play. I like 4 copies of "Michiko's Reign of Truth", 2 copies of "Emry, Lurker of the Loch" with "Pyrite Spellbomb". I play only 2 copies if Cranial Plating, because it fells very clunky in compare to "Michiko's Reign of Truth". Currently I also test one copy of Thousand Moons Smithy.
@@ThatMillGuyShaf I think I like Reign of Truth more than All that Glitters here as well. It's much less punished by removal and even becomes a body by itself after two hits.
@@albertarvadottosen3512 this two points are also my reasons;). And sometimes i have no creature on board and on hand (happens a lot more than exceptet). In this case a michiko... is significant bether than cranial... or all the glitter.
Have you tried running thoughtcast instead of forging the anchor? Itd be a blue instead of 3 cmc. I know you can’t go as deep but it’s a slower steady gas? No good answer just want affinity relevant again
Thoughtcast is a good option, but Orcish Bowmasters is everywhere which is why I think forging is a great option because it doesn't actually "draw" the cards

Hearing ban talk for Saga is crazy to me, and it's broken against the decks that I play.

I would say "unban arti lands", but that just makes scales better
Seems like every time affinity is good is when it has a crazy broken card before it gets banned

Why not All That Glitters at that point?
