I googled and still couldn’t figure out the game can anyone explain to an American what this game is because even not knowing the game I can’t stop watching these hilarious clips.
Letters rounds: Nine letters are placed on the board, and the contestants have 30 seconds to make as long a word as possible, using some or all of those letters (no more than once each). Longest word scores one point per letter, except that a 9-letter word, the maximum possible, is worth 18.
Numbers rounds: Six numbers are placed on the board, and a random 3-digit number is selected as a target. Contestants have 30 seconds to use some or all of the numbers (no more than once each) and the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, to get as close to the target number as possible. Closest contestant scores: 10 points for hitting the target exactly, 7 points for being within five, 5 points for being within ten, 0 otherwise.
Conundrum: A scrambled nine-letter word is shown. First contestant to buzz in with the correct word (within 30 seconds) gets 10 points.
The actual proper game is "Countdown", where two teams of contestants compete for the higher score and the winners get real prizes. Rachel and Suzie are there as well in the same roles, and they'll sometimes refer to the proper show. Countdown rounds consist of making the longest words out of letters, or reaching a particular number with the randomly given numbers. "8 Out of 10 Cats" was a failed show with a rotating cast of comedians, and "8 Out of 10 Cats does Countdown" are the comedians playing Countdown. They don't win real prizes, they get joke things like the teapots.

Nah, it was just the covid setup, in the episode Jimmy mentions that they could move closer if they wanted to, but Jon is probably to much of a rule guy to change the seatings (and he joked, that that's the closest they been since the wedding night).
