- Welcome to the second installment of Ratio Retribution - a series where I 100% some of the most difficult games I can find!
This time we're playing Super Meat Boy!
A phenomenal platformer released back in 2010 by Team Meat.
Full of incredibly difficult challenges that will have you pulling your hair out in RAGE!
I had the idea to make a video on this game back when I completed the game in FEBUARY! But alas...
The universe did not want me to finish this video... A script re-write, The release of Starfield, 2 weeks of being sick, getting a cat and of course good old fashioned procrastination pushed this project back from August/September all the way to now.
But now the grind is over - I'M FREEEEEEE!
And I SHOULD be producing content at a more consistent rate!

Had to re-upload because I made a mistake at the beginning and it drove me crazy but it's finally here!

EDIT: Oh and while re-recording footage for some of the later worlds, I discovered there was a glitch level in The End I hadn't found yet but I beat it and so my final completion percentage is at 106% not 105%.

Whether the "alley" is the aisle at the store or their place of application is debatable but what is not is that the levels have gotten hormonal and angry at you.
I don't usually say things like these, but this really seems like the epitome of "quality content from a small creator" videos. Like basically a 2 hour documentary by someone with mere 200 subscribers? That's extraordinarily rare!

All steam achievs is where it's at. Deathless Dark Rapture and Dark Cotton took years off of my life
That's it. No-death dark realms (or even time trials) are the hardest achievements, why do we deserve clickbait title to this awesome game/
@@IceEscapeEasy yeah. For me, all achievements took 70 hours to complete (which is fast from what I've seen). Dark Rapture and Dark Cotton took 18 and 20 hours respectively, more than half of the entire hunt. And to compare the difficulty - the original 106% took me like 10 hours to complete, maybe even less. 7-14x and 7-15x took me hundreds of tries to just beat once, and you have to do them perfectly basically every time if you want a shot at deathless (7-19x - fuck you still, I hate you to this day)
@@iluxa-4000 Yeah, I understood what level you are talking about without even turn the game on, it also grinded my nerves (7-19x).
First game lauch dec 2014, golden god (100%) jan 2015 (keyboard btw). 3 years (first gamepad run, had to learn all again) after I've found that I could run deathless worlds to make an achievement and completed Hospital dark world, Hell and the End world without dying. So not even 3rd dark world finished without deaths. May be I'll try to complete the whole worlds some day, but that's madness, even with pause screen.
@@IceEscapeEasy I'm also a keyboard player :) and I really didn't even think that I would be able to do it, but then I started grinding and grinding, and managed to get them all. It is probably my proudest moment of gaming lul
About the pause screen - I've seen a lot of people say "ah, you can just quit to the menu, shit is easy". But in the absolute majority of levels you won't have time to quit to the menu, you die in half a second. And even then - you still need to beat everything without messing up

Jokes aside, I’m also a keyboard player, though I haven’t gotten all cheevos, yet. :/ I play on-and-off, though, so each time I pick it back up I have to retrain my muscle memory, which is kinda difficult when you’re trying to do a dark rapture no-death-run, haha. (Seriously though, whose idea was it to make those franken-meatboy-thingies have their range detemined by RNG? And why do they only *sometimes* jump when I jump? It’s horrible D:)
i love how he just cuts the warp zone sometimes that it just screams the first 2 letters or only "WARP-" and then cuts off. its really funny

Im so glad to see channels focusing on achievements making a comeback. Ive always wanted to 100% games on the xbox. Sadly, i dont think ill ever get the chance to if they shut down the store

@@MineMasterJake1well, the childhood goal was to do that for every game on the market. I love achievement hunting. Sadly I don't have to the time to grind for achievements anymore
The true hardest achievements are in the PS4 (and Steam) version, where you must beat each world without dying.
The one for beating the cotton alley dark world without dying is only 0.37% (As opposed to 3% for Golden God in this video)
Maybe a follow up video for the Platinum Trophy? ;)
Also this is a great video on one of my favourite games.

(Also, to cement the Flywrench hate, more people have the Steam achievement for beating the game than for unlocking Flywrench lol)

29:08 damn, flywrench is my favorite character. I played most of the game as them lol. It takes some getting used to, but when you do it feels like you can fly through levels. I also like how their wall jump stays on walls
I was so bad using flywrench I actually cannot fathom how you could get use to him but that's pretty awesome!

this is the kind of content i thrive for - xbox 360 achievement hunting was how I spent a majority of my early teens, and to see someone who's a champion at it make videos about their time doing it brings so me much joy! Compared to almost every other super meat boy platinum video ive watched this is by far my favorite one its long well made great edits really shows the difficulty and doesn't simply skip to the end cant wait to see you grow

I love how this is also the name of a achievment in the binding of Isaac and in that game when you get this achievment you go Damn that was pretty hard can’t get much harder .. I feeel like it’s the exact same in meatboy just one of the two does get harder

But what about the rest of the achievements? Every World without dying? :D
I did 150+ platins. Things like every soulslike game or crash 1-4, or games with a challange. But meatboy is another level of insanity...
My total respect that you did everything you did in the video. But you would be breaking if you would go for "platin" with no dying in every world
Fun Fact: If you got the game on steam, then you can put the game on window mode and click and hold on the window. The game freezes BUT you can move around. This is the glitch called "Time Freeze" (creative name I know) Since the game is frozen but Meat Boy isn't (gameplay not visually so it makes it kinda hard) you can walk through walls and WALK ON AIR. This can be helpful in the wa- *ahem* This can be helpful in the WAAARP ZOOOOOONEs.

You should do all the no death world runs too :-). I have one of the very first cotton alley dark world runs posted to TH-cam! It's pretty much my only claim to fame around here. That and some gnarly Ori and the Blind Forest trickery.

most of the time i look away to low sub channels since most of them don't have good videos but this is good i like it 10/10 it has editing of other completionist channels that have way more subs good job keep going it may not feel like it makes a difference but trust me it will add up
