I was able to do just fine. I do hate the no refrigerators and sinks. Even worse is the lack of displays and not being able to have allies in the shelters.
If you put the bigger part of the floors on the you can put the half floors in . It took me a while to get it but it works. To bad they didn't make it so you can change the color o the floor instead of putting a floor on top. Kinda sucks.
They should remove whatever checks for clipping so that we don't have to rely on the flamethrower to put stuff closer to or into each other while in shelters.
You can toggle clipping on and off, but not intersecting. This is honestly probably so we don't accidentally sink stuff into solid objects without wanting to, but if it was toggleable that would be pretty nice. Save a lot of aluminum too :D
In the shelters, you can place them right in the air unattached to anything, build order does seem to matter. I ended up deleting the roof pieces, placing the bar, then re-snapping the roof. If anything intersects, just burn it to the ground

These shelters are very frustrating, I only want to build a sub-level/basement to my camp house, not have a generic hidden Vault. Aside from the bulky concrete slab entrance that only looks good outside, you've got that awful Vault entrance hallway which makes it difficult to mask. You should go straight into your build, instead of what feels like a dev experimentation room. You go through that awkward hallway before finally reaching your basement or game room or whatever. The Vault Atrium looks better because it has no entryway but.. The entrance is a giant freaking Vault door in your camp
I know what you mean, but I could def see Bethesda adding different styles of shelters in the atom shop in the months to come! I mean, I remember the days before wallpaper and atom shop floors! Things get better eventually if you give them long enough
