Best part about the Rein Cinematic was that the Map was ingame for quite a while before the cinematic came out and no one really knew why there was a Rein sitting on the Throne at the end of the map. So that cut to the present in the Cinematic just hit so damn good.
It's not Rein though, it's the remains of his commander and fellow Crusader Balderich with armor intact. But you're right, it's a nice touch. I always kneel before his throne when playing Rein after securing the victory lol
Gotta love how the Reinhardt cinematics takes such a short time to show a young and cocky Reinhardt who gets humbled and loses his teacher due to his own hubris. Then, by the end of the cinematic, they've taken those previous lines and delivered them with so much more weight and meaning. Now Reinhardt goes on to live a selfless life and strives to help all he can rather than chasing "glory." Not to mention his teacher's wish for him to become "their shield" which is a reference to one of, if not the most, repeated Reinhardt voice line, " I AM YOUR SHIELD!"

one of my favorite parts of sombras video: on the desk of volskaya, next to the picture sombra picks up, there is a picture of her doing the "boop" on the nose to her daughter. that same noseboop sombra did to herat the end ... sombra has her eyes everywhere and volskaya must have been frightened after sombra booped her
The campaign for Overwatch 2 is coming out in 2023. They released the PvP early, as early access, so that they could begin adding PvP content again as people were tired of no new content. Also, for some context of the story there is also the hero origin trailers, the Doomfist one being particular great, which tell a little more of the story and give some more backstory.
From the cinematics u only miss the newest one from Kiriko, it's really good 🥳 and if u are interested in the characters their background, their relations and their personal story....the origin stories of all the characters are a must they are short but truly interesting if u like the characters. I would love for u to see them 👏🏻

Fun fact - they renamed Jesse McCree to Cole Cassidy. The reason was because McCree was based on a blizzard developer who was recently suspected with sexual assault. Blizzard decided to cut all ties with him and renamed the character.
Yes, Ashe and "McCree" (now Cole Cassidy...if you wanna know why, probably should look it up..has some real world implications attached), are both playable in the game. Ashe is a Sniper, but also is close ranged friendly. She also has dynamite you can shoot to explode and cause massive AoE damage, her ultimate is calling in Bob!! Echo, the robot at the end of the cowboy cinematic, is also playable :) 24:30 Sombra is my favorite character as far as... like looks and personality and her voice...yes... please And the small detail I love on the OW2 trailer, the last official one you watched here, is Emily's (that's Tracer's girlfriend) pic being on her dash. :) So cute.
theres actually an anime-esc one for doomfist! this is the fight they were talking about in the one cinematic with the kids and the museum. i definitely recommend it!
honor and glory honestly has so much symbolism in it, when reinhardt hands his weapon to balderech, its basically reinhardt upholding his masters words by ONLY having a shield, it was more then just allowing his master to go out in a blaze of glory, he was showing he was going to follow his masters words. and one of reins most common voice lines in game is "i will be your shield", he ALWAYS follows his masters final words now. and, when questioned, he uses his masters words in regards to overwatch "i have been called, i must answer" ending with "...always" because it was an honor to his master, regardless of their reputation honestly, one of the biggest lore drops we ever got, and turned such a simple voice line into something so much more. also for anyone who doesn't know, jesse mcree was named directly after a employee at blizzard who was one of the big bad people who did very bad things, so he officially got renamed to cole cassidy.
I’d recommend watching the Kiriko and Doomfist cinematics after this! The Kiriko one is the newest and the Doomfist one is in a really cool 2d anime style.
Yeah the only one not included was the newest cinematic for Kiriko, I also really recommend watching the origin stories. The OG cast don't have any, but any heroes that have been released after OW1 launched, they have one. No Bob is not playable, he's Ashe's ult though. I'd also recommend reading the comics, there's a lot of stories and context, and several heroes that haven't been mentioned in the cinematics yet. Though that would probably be better to do on your own time, reading comics live probably won't be the most exciting reaction lol. In the animation for Sombra, where she boops the nose? When she grabs the photo of the daughter to show the russian president theres ANOTHER photo of the president *booping* her daughter on the nose So by booping her on the nose, it's subtly telling her how much she really knows
Reinhardt before = No shield, charge in. Smash shit up. Reinhardt after ='I am your shield!' No one has noticed that tbh and it's one of my favourite bits. One sentence 'Be their shield.' because you know he has no interest in doing that, but after his commanders death he literal embodies that mindset by telling his team 'I am your shield'. gives that voice line real, genuine meaning.
There is gonna be an Overwatch 2 story campaign! The development was stunted during Covid and the whole Blizzard controversy, so they made the decision to get Overwatch 2 PvP out first, and they've confirmed the PvE story mode & hero missions will be coming out sometime next year :)

Last two cinematic was about Blizzard's other games. Demon one called "Diablo" Lord of Terror, main villain of Diablo series and other one is Alexstrasza the Life-Binder, Aspect of the red dragonflight from World of Warcraft. I kind of remember first one coming in play like an event or something but i may be wrong it's been years since i quit OW.
My man, as I said in last video, Welcome to OW! You've catched up in almost all cinematics (I think you only missing Kiriko's one, it's the last one that's been released), and if you want to keep getting more lore content, you have to watch the origin stories (Sigma's my favorite, it is SO cool). And also, if you want to, there's also cinematics in-game, like missions in events (Archives to be specific; one when Overwatch defended King's Row from Null Sector, another when the new reunited OW team is going for an omnic from talon, and another one from BLACKWATCH, the team that used to get their hands dirty in the shadows where Reaper and Moira used to be in, Genji with full of anger and hatred, and Cassidy/McCree; but only if you want cus maybe in april you will have the oportunity to play the event and see them for yourself). You can also read the comics/books and the novels, but tbh I only have read the comics, not the books :) you can reply here all of your doubts and I'll be glad to help

The last two cinematics are just promos for a crossover game of Blizzard called heroes of the storm (not cannon) Also you missed Kiriko's cinematic, it was uploaded a couple weeks ago and really recomend it! You should also watch Origin Stories, specially to know more about lore. Also, you could watch the archives missions cinematics (PBE gamemode like Junkestein, but related to lore)
What I enjoy the most about Honor and Glory is the subtle writing in there. Honor is represented by the shield they use and Glory is represented by their hammer. At the beginning Reinhart is all about Glory and only uses his Hammer and attacks. His Mentor and friend Balderich von Adler tries to make him understand the importance of Honor (shield, protecting others) over Glory (Hammer, offense). It takes the unfortunate death of Balderich for Reinhart to finally understand and when he gives away his Hammer (Glory) to Balderich, his mentor smiles knowing he finaly understand the importance of his Honor (shield). He can die knowing Reinhart will be an honorable man till his death. Reinhart is also living with the guilt of his arrogance killing his friend and has lived his whole life trying to replace him in terms of what he would have done to save others. He's probably my favorite hero of them all, but he carries a heavy burden indeed. Also, my favoriite quote of him in game is when he say "Don't worry, my friends! I will be your shield!" . It's even better after this cinematics!
and the last one shot with Hanzo was cinematic from Heroes of the storm (MOBA by Blizzard) , where hanzo and Alexstrasza (dragon from World of Warcraft is one of playable characters
18:15 A LOT of the OW characters have extreme mental and physical trauma they've been through, and so have PTSD or other mental disorders, Dva included. Others who show symptoms of mental disorder are (some more than others): Solider 76, Hanzo, Reaper, Moira, Sigma, Junk Rat, Road Hog, Junker Queen, Symmetra, Bastion, Ana, Widowmaker, Baptiste, Reinhardt. These characters either in their shorts, lore, or in game, often show signs of pretty bad mental trauma over all, or try to repress it, and it comes out in worse ways. But many have either depression, psychosis, PTSD and more. :( kind of makes them quite relatable in a way though too
You could watch the Origin Stories as well. And btw. the thing on tracers back and chest keep her stable in time, so she doesnt jump uncontrollably through the world. Told you just that you can get the chills on a specific Origin Story ;)
The dragonlady at the end fighting against Hanzo is actually a World of Warcraft character named Alexstraza. She’s the progenitor of one of the races of dragon in the world. I’d be amazed if Blizzard made her into an OW hero, but Paladins managed to figure out how to fit in a hero who transforms into a giant dragon for their ult, so I would have faith in Blizzard to be able to figure it out too lol.

after these videos were released, a number of fans started making comics and short videos in alternate realities. sometimes Soldier was the "dad" of the family, Dva and Lucio were the rebellious teenagers, and Mercy the caring mom. across the hall, Reaper would be the 'dad' of the other 'family': Sombra, Widowmaker and Moira. other works included Mercy and Pharah being the disaster lesbians; Tracer, Widowmaker and Tracer's actual GF Emily in a love triangle; bromances between Soldier and Reaper, or Hanzo and McCree; a highschool reality with Dva, Lucio, Mei and Tracer as the students and Soldier and Zarya as the monitors, or Genji being the student of a complete nutjob and racist Zenyatta. imagine a sitcom with all these characters... that's the level of insanity. you should also check out Team Fortress 2 and *it's* collection of videos, official and fan-made. book a turn with your therapist beforehand, tho... because those ones ARE insane.
The pve story mode is coming, but slowly. This is mostly due to them making 3 full skill trees for 35 characters that change how their gameplay works. For comparison borderlands games have 3 skilltrees for only 4-6 characters but those characters were designed with the skills in mind while overwatch is taking the opposite approach

The woman from the last video is not playable in Overwatch. It's from another game from Blizzard and that game also has some Overwatch characters in it (correct me if I'm wrong). Also you missed the Kiriko Animated Short and i also recommend you to watch the Origin Stories. The animation in them is in a completely different style but the stories are really good and interesting!

@Faxityy the last two you watched were from another game called Heroes of the Storm which is made by the same company, that game has characters from all of their franchises, the ones you saw were Diablo from the Diablo universe and Alextraza from the Warcraft universe. Blizzard have some of the best universes and world building in the gaming industry, and I highly recommend you check out their World of Warcraft cinematics and the Starcraft cinematics, you will absolutely love them AND you'll get plenty of views and subscribers ;) As for what other Overwatch videos you've missed, you can watch the Origin story videos. Only a handful of characters have Origin story videos, and they're pretty short, so you can do all of them in one video. My favorite is Sigma, it's so creative and awesome.
So in the beginning when Brigitte tells Reinhardt that Overwatch pushed him out, this was before Overwatch actually was disbanded. There was one operation they had that resulted in a lot of civilian casualties, and they needed a scapegoat to blame. So they put the blame of the mission failure on Reinhardt, and they kicked him out of Overwatch. It wasn't too much later that Overwatch as a whole was disbanded.

He was then fired and since they didn't want to have that association they renamed the character. From a lore perspective Cassidy changed his name because there were people after him (I think) so Jesse McCree was an alias. He then revealed his true name when they got recalled for Overwatch 2
Sombre is one of those characters people hate because she is always hacking supports and killing them from behind and when you're team finally have their ult ready she cancels them mid Ult. Just a constant menace to enemies.

The last two cinematics are not Overwatch per say. They were promo pieces done for Heroes of the Storm when Overwatch characters were introduced into that game. Heroes of the Storm (RIP) was Blizzards moba game which took popular characters from all of its franchises and mashed them together for its roster hence why Genji and D'Va are fighting Diablo, and Hanzo is training with Alextraza, a Warcraft character. The lore is that heroes from all timelines involving Blizzard are pulled into the Nexus to do battle for an as-of-yet-unknown purpose even to those fighting. But seeing the lack of potential for revenue, and failing to convert the game into a competitive e-sport-like standing Blizzard has long since abandoned Heroes. It is still playable but has not had any new content for years.
The last two shorts you watched are some campaign trailers for some crossover stuff to other blizzard games and are not part of the story. Also, the latest cinematic for the new hero Kiriko was not included in that compilation either. I recommend wathcing that as well as the origin stories for some heroes.
Us rein mains live and breath this cinematic. Its the motivation we need to keep playing this character that Blizzard shows no love for and perpetually makes more painful to play.

Those last two trailers are from Heroes of the Storm, I believe. From what I've heard, it's a MOBA made by Blizzard and a big crossover of a bunch of Blizzard games. So it's like their Super Smash Bros but with League of Legends gameplay

There is gonna be an Overwatch 2 story campaign! The development was stunted during Covid and the whole Blizzard controversy, so they made the decision to get Overwatch 2 PvP out first, and they've confirmed the PvE story mode & hero missions will be coming out sometime next year :)

Last two cinematic was about Blizzard's other games. Demon one called "Diablo" Lord of Terror, main villain of Diablo series and other one is Alexstrasza the Life-Binder, Aspect of the red dragonflight from World of Warcraft. I kind of remember first one coming in play like an event or something but i may be wrong it's been years since i quit OW.

You've catched up in almost all cinematics (I think you only missing Kiriko's one, it's the last one that's been released), and if you want to keep getting more lore content, you have to watch the origin stories (Sigma's my favorite, it is SO cool).
And also, if you want to, there's also cinematics in-game, like missions in events (Archives to be specific; one when Overwatch defended King's Row from Null Sector, another when the new reunited OW team is going for an omnic from talon, and another one from BLACKWATCH, the team that used to get their hands dirty in the shadows where Reaper and Moira used to be in, Genji with full of anger and hatred, and Cassidy/McCree; but only if you want cus maybe in april you will have the oportunity to play the event and see them for yourself).
You can also read the comics/books and the novels, but tbh I only have read the comics, not the books :)

Those last two vids were ads for a crossover game featuring many Blizzard characters. The demons and dragons aren’t from Overwatch; they’re just interacting in this crossover game.

What I enjoy the most about Honor and Glory is the subtle writing in there. Honor is represented by the shield they use and Glory is represented by their hammer. At the beginning Reinhart is all about Glory and only uses his Hammer and attacks. His Mentor and friend Balderich von Adler tries to make him understand the importance of Honor (shield, protecting others) over Glory (Hammer, offense). It takes the unfortunate death of Balderich for Reinhart to finally understand and when he gives away his Hammer (Glory) to Balderich, his mentor smiles knowing he finaly understand the importance of his Honor (shield). He can die knowing Reinhart will be an honorable man till his death.
Reinhart is also living with the guilt of his arrogance killing his friend and has lived his whole life trying to replace him in terms of what he would have done to save others. He's probably my favorite hero of them all, but he carries a heavy burden indeed.
Also, my favoriite quote of him in game is when he say "Don't worry, my friends! I will be your shield!" . It's even better after this cinematics!

18:15 A LOT of the OW characters have extreme mental and physical trauma they've been through, and so have PTSD or other mental disorders, Dva included. Others who show symptoms of mental disorder are (some more than others): Solider 76, Hanzo, Reaper, Moira, Sigma, Junk Rat, Road Hog, Junker Queen, Symmetra, Bastion, Ana, Widowmaker, Baptiste, Reinhardt.
These characters either in their shorts, lore, or in game, often show signs of pretty bad mental trauma over all, or try to repress it, and it comes out in worse ways. But many have either depression, psychosis, PTSD and more. :( kind of makes them quite relatable in a way though too
You could watch the Origin Stories as well.
And btw. the thing on tracers back and chest keep her stable in time, so she doesnt jump uncontrollably through the world. Told you just that you can get the chills on a specific Origin Story ;)

The dragonlady at the end fighting against Hanzo is actually a World of Warcraft character named Alexstraza. She’s the progenitor of one of the races of dragon in the world. I’d be amazed if Blizzard made her into an OW hero, but Paladins managed to figure out how to fit in a hero who transforms into a giant dragon for their ult, so I would have faith in Blizzard to be able to figure it out too lol.

The pve story mode is coming, but slowly. This is mostly due to them making 3 full skill trees for 35 characters that change how their gameplay works.
For comparison borderlands games have 3 skilltrees for only 4-6 characters but those characters were designed with the skills in mind while overwatch is taking the opposite approach

Also you missed the Kiriko Animated Short and i also recommend you to watch the Origin Stories. The animation in them is in a completely different style but the stories are really good and interesting!

@Faxityy the last two you watched were from another game called Heroes of the Storm which is made by the same company, that game has characters from all of their franchises, the ones you saw were Diablo from the Diablo universe and Alextraza from the Warcraft universe.
Blizzard have some of the best universes and world building in the gaming industry, and I highly recommend you check out their World of Warcraft cinematics and the Starcraft cinematics, you will absolutely love them AND you'll get plenty of views and subscribers ;)
As for what other Overwatch videos you've missed, you can watch the Origin story videos. Only a handful of characters have Origin story videos, and they're pretty short, so you can do all of them in one video. My favorite is Sigma, it's so creative and awesome.
So in the beginning when Brigitte tells Reinhardt that Overwatch pushed him out, this was before Overwatch actually was disbanded. There was one operation they had that resulted in a lot of civilian casualties, and they needed a scapegoat to blame. So they put the blame of the mission failure on Reinhardt, and they kicked him out of Overwatch. It wasn't too much later that Overwatch as a whole was disbanded.

He was then fired and since they didn't want to have that association they renamed the character. From a lore perspective Cassidy changed his name because there were people after him (I think) so Jesse McCree was an alias. He then revealed his true name when they got recalled for Overwatch 2

Sombre is one of those characters people hate because she is always hacking supports and killing them from behind and when you're team finally have their ult ready she cancels them mid Ult. Just a constant menace to enemies.

The last two cinematics are not Overwatch per say. They were promo pieces done for Heroes of the Storm when Overwatch characters were introduced into that game. Heroes of the Storm (RIP) was Blizzards moba game which took popular characters from all of its franchises and mashed them together for its roster hence why Genji and D'Va are fighting Diablo, and Hanzo is training with Alextraza, a Warcraft character. The lore is that heroes from all timelines involving Blizzard are pulled into the Nexus to do battle for an as-of-yet-unknown purpose even to those fighting. But seeing the lack of potential for revenue, and failing to convert the game into a competitive e-sport-like standing Blizzard has long since abandoned Heroes. It is still playable but has not had any new content for years.

The last two shorts you watched are some campaign trailers for some crossover stuff to other blizzard games and are not part of the story. Also, the latest cinematic for the new hero Kiriko was not included in that compilation either. I recommend wathcing that as well as the origin stories for some heroes.
