Watching Conan speak with someone he definitely admires, with such joy and earned privilege, makes me wonder who might feel the same way talking with him decades from now.
Can't say who or when that'll be, but for now, I thank Conan for sharing these legends with us today.
Some younger comedians who were influenced by his Late Night show have said as much to him. John Mulaney in particular has such admiration for him and growing up on his show. It's very sweet.
Why I love Conan, I love and respect Conan because this guy could’ve been anything anyone can dream of like lawyer doctor but instead he chose to put smiles and laughs on people’s faces. ❤❤❤❤❤more to this but I’ll leave it at this ❤❤

Conan is truly so underestimated in the good that he's been doing! Always has on the greats that went years before him, so respectful! And to be taking his show's overseas and all the goodwill he's been doing just a gem of a man! And to Mr. Newhart, still as funny and sharp and may God bless you Sir.
My favorite Bob Newhart performance is a sketch about a toupee, he did this with Dean Martin which Bob makes him laugh so hard he forgets his lines, makes the audience explode, and just explains why this man is a natural comedy genius.

So awesome! Love hearing Bob Newhart speak. My grandma used to love his show and I remember that. And also when he was on Big Bang Theory a few times, that was awesome as well! Thank you Bob for your contributions.

I like Conan because he has Legends on his show as opposed to other late night shows who just have people on to plug a movie a book or CD or what not. This is why Conan and David Letterman were the best since Johnny
In his book "I Shouldn't Even Be Doing This" he commented that in the "Bob Newhart Show" the producers wanted him to cut back on the stammering because it was causing segments to run long. "No," he said, "that stammer bought me a house in Beverly Hills."
Team Conan, invite more classic comics and actors. It is wonderful to see them and honor their contributions.

Bob Newhart is the best. Old people come in all shapes in sizes, and in my experience generally don't have this caliber of wit or sense of humor. To no fault of their own mind you, but growing old isn't easy for most. I hope we all should grow old as gracefully and as sharp of mind as legends like Newhart and Rickles.

His pause even showed on his first appearance on Big Bang Theory. Kuoco asks a question that was the obvious joke in the scene. He pauses and answers, “No”. The way he said “No” got the bigger laugh.

Coincidentally I watched Bob's previous appearance on Conan from about a year ago. He looks a little more drawn here, but still sounds lively. Even in his younger years, 'lively' would have been a stretch for Bob.
But the thing is, the way Conan's humor is, the self-deprecation, he would turn the silence around with the air-conditioner remark.

At 3:00 - Bob says he won't mention the club he played at, was he just forgetting the name or was there something else to it? Because it felt really awkward for a few seconds like everyone knew what club he was talking about but it was taboo to talk about. Maybe just me.

Most modern comedians are "comedians" if you know what I mean. Bob Newhart & the men & women of his generation could make you split your sides without mentioning sex or using profanity even once! Also...we lived in a much better era back then. You could actually make a joke involving race or men & women or religion & not get called racist/chauvinist/anti-"insert religion". Modern American society is such a PC & censored society!
