What they need to come up with, is a detachable battery handle, ideally with larger battery in a long handle and standard battery in short handle. The camera gimbal head has a detachable gopro mount or similar, with a up to 3m wired connection to the battery/control unit similar to what Godox AD200 detachable flash head.
That Osmo pocket 3D printed case is very nice. He should fix his outer wall speed though for more even layer lines
I'm really hoping that the other Osmo Pocket competitors will step up to the plate an give us an upgrade that DJI is not willing to do. For the time being looks like I'll be hanging on to my Osmo Pocket even though it has a major audio recording problem and try to make the best out of it
besides the very high quality of the information in your videos I also enjoy the footage of Prague and its little tiny streets beyond the places of tourism. I have decided to buy an Osmo Pocket, I´m working through the menue and will definitely use it for my outside footage while doing my videos for my pipe smoking channel.

No, I haven't shot any videos in Prague.
The Snoppa looks like it managed to have a magenta cast in some of those clips and cyan in others. Looks like a promising product with beta-software.
I bought one of the Snoppa camera gimbals via the crowdfunder and I like it a lot. I would like to get one of these as well, but they need to fix the software first. I also wish someone would be brave and make a bigger one with a larger sensor and a wider lens. I like the field of view on the Fimi Palm better.

It is 26mm full frame equivalent, so 80 degrees.

Best feature of that one I think is the bluetooth audio! Now you only have to include the FUNSNAP and Feiyu in a shootout test. :P
I like the Osmo Pocket the best. Yes, it's not perfect. They were the first to set the standard, to explore the concept/idea. That's always riddled with a few child diseases. But they address what they could with firmware and you can really get nice results. I like the more cinematic longer focal length opposed to the wide actioncam style, but you can use the Freewell wide angle adapter which everyone is so happy with. Ultimately though, I'm wishing for a new Osmo Pocket generation with improvements!
BT mic could be a great feature, but it is not supported yet.
At the moment, with FW 1.09 is have absolutely no issues at all with the OP, and frankly, I don't see a reason to release a new one anytime soon.
@@TheHybridShooter OP should've had Wi-Fi and BT integrated, as well as a 3.5mm mic input.
Also, I like the little built-in joystick the FIMI has.
That... and maybe like a 1" sensor would be really need to have.
Just to have something small, that mixes well with a mirrorless camera as B-roll.
I actually like it as it is. It is a bit like when Apple used to omit features from their products for the good of customers, despite that they were criticized. Connecting mic to device such as OP defeats its purpose, controller wheel is still by far the best option for panning, expansion port is the best way to connect the OP to smartphone and it wouldn't be "Pocket" with 1" sensor.
Having said that I would definitely like to see "Osmo Pro" or whatever with 1" sensor.
thanks for that - best review I've seen so far - very fair and balanced. Not got my vmate yet, but frankly can't say I'm holding my breath for it... unless these issues are solved it's going to be pretty useless. Particularly curious is how they can screw up gimbal software, which is pretty much a commodity these days - no excuse for tilted horizons in 2020.

Like your review, the product isn't where it needs to be. In addition to your review they need to work on the audio also. When using a microphone there is massive audio sync issues. My videos prove that. Thanks again.
The snoppa Vmate WILL NOT transfer files through the USB C port at current firmware version.

at 1st im waiting for snoppa for its quality..but at the end of the day i bought osmo pocket..fimi palm the quality is similiar to action cam but in addition of the 3 axis gimbal..no Depth of field..n snoppa..yet to reach that level..n my decision is right..

I had a mistake to be one of the bakers of their gimbal on Indiegogo. And if you read reviews on other snoppa products - they all crude and unfinished.
Well, there is always some risk with crowdfunding...
I backed the atom and the vmate the atom is totally fine, but still not received my vmate yet and ordered it in November, understand what's going on with the world at the minute tho so will just sit tight, few updates and it will be up to date hopefully.
I have to disagree with your comment. I have two other shops products and they work fine, it took sometime but they work. It comes as standard with most crowdfunding tech. I am working with it and monitoring the improvements. Will it be perfect who knows.
@@markpbowen mine is working too, but in its own way. Normally you buy product and with FWs it gets almost perfect, sometimes new features. For Snoppa you have to wait for FW to get at least normally working gadget : m1, Kylin M, atom, Vmate.

I think all manufactures are missing an opportunity of putting a nice, 1 inch sensor in this form factor. Stabilization is great but quality is pretty much the same as a phone. I would seriously consider getting one if it came with a 1 inch sensor and had a really nice quality video and photos on top of that stabilization and the form factor.
There is no such opportunity. You can either have that form factor or 1” type sensor. It would be much larger with 1”.
@@TheHybridShooter I wouldn't mind personally if it was a bit larger. Something like Mavic 2 Pro's camera would be good.
It wouldn't be a bit larger, it would probably be twice as big. I would also like to see that, but that would be regular Osmo, not Osmo Pocket.

Another excellent review - and honest! One thing - using the screen to control the gimbal, rather than having a joystick, does have the advantage that there's no mechanical noise. The Palm does have problems in this respect. As you say, hopefully firmware updates will fix the Vmate eventually - but perhaps they released it too soon.
Thank you, yes, they probably had to release it too soon because of the crowd funding campaign. OP Controller wheel still seem to be the best option - quite and very precise.

Yes, but with poor quality.

All they need is one company to bring out a 4 axis gimbal at that size and with right codecs needed and they will kill the market, why don't these competitors think to make a better gimbal instead of just copying? Seriously
Osmo Pocket has the right codecs, so you can just get that one.
@@TheHybridShooter the main point was a 3 axis gimbal, I sold the osmo pocket as it didn't really meet my needs and I didn't want to buy a 3rd axis handle just to stabilise one axis, so I got myself a Ronin SC and couldn't have been happier, but my point again is if they bring out a small size camera with 3 axis I am all over it

Vmate Indiegogo backers on outrage due to delay, and the software not mature, stay away n don't waste your money.
Rightfully so, but to be honest backing such project is "asking for trouble".
