@12.28 you say because you fitted 20" wheels, the ride height is higher than the 18" wheels fitted before........no, you've missed the fact that the 20" tyres should have a lower profile and end up with the same overall diameter to ensure the Speedo still reads correctly and the ride height isn't therefore affected at all.
Hi Sam, I just tried to fit my side steps to my Evoque Pure with Dynamic body kit (like yours). Spent 3 hours today until realised they wont fit 😡 Did you get the Pure side steps or the Dynamic side steps? I got the Pure and the mounts are not low enough, meaning I don't have enough clearance between the bottom of the Dynamic side skirts and the side step. I have to return them now. But it would be great if you could confirm which side steps you got (Pure or Dynamic) and do you recall where you bought them? Mine were from Fastlane Styling. Cheers pal 👍
Hey Chris, Have you cut your plastic side skirts? I had to cut some parts off the bottom of the skirt for the side steps to fit. If your cutting more than just the bottom flat part it means you potentially don’t have the correct brackets. How far off are they?
@@SLRebuilt - yes, I cutout 2 squares to allow the side skirts to slide past the brackets. That bit is fine. But then I offered up the side steps and saw that there is no way its going to fit. It's hard to describe in words. Basically, the bracket (with the 2 holes in for the side step to fix to) is slammed up flush to the underside of the side skirts. This leaves no room for the top edge of the side step, which means the I cannot bolt the bracket to the side steps. I reckon the bracket holes are about an inch too high. How far below the side skirt did your bracket hang? Was there any clearance between it and the side skirt above? On mine, there is none. Thanks for your help 👍
@@WelshWilts did you pull the side skirts off whilst fitting/bolting up the side steps and then clip them back on once you’ve tightened the side step bolts?
@@SLRebuilt - no, I removed the skirts, fixed the mounts, cut a square of of the skirt for each mount, put back on the skirts. All good. When I try to offer the side steps up to bolt it on, the whole length of the top of the side step (the rubber bit) hits the bottom edge of the skirts. It is like the mounts are not low enough. Can you remember if you bought the Pure/Prestige steps or the Dynamic one? As the dynamic have different mounts so I am told.
