Thanks for this video Chris. I don’t know if you aware that you can add a filter on the other side of the lens. I mean the sensor side on the lens you have a special place where you can put filter. It I think they’re not available yet. This avoid the problem of the front filter. I think of this lens for wedding epic shot...I don’t if I will use a lot...
Have you been able to compare this with the Tamron 17-28 that you ordered? I have the Tamron right now, and it's within its return period still. Depending on how people feel about this Sigma, I just might upgrade. Thanks!
Great video. What lens would you recommend. The sigma 14-24 or the sigma 16-28? I'm ok with either focal length but I was wondering which lens is sharper
I was considering the sigma 12-24 before eventually purchasing the tamron 17-28, after mostly factoring in price and size. Just curious, with the type of work you do, since you’ve used both, do you prefer one or the other? Thanks.
Honestly I prefer the Tamron for the same reasons. The sigma is optically superior. But I’m a wedding photographer full time so a wide angle isn’t something I use a lot. I’ll use it for TH-cam videos more than anything else
Same question I had. I shoot mostly wide and wasn’t sure 17mm would be enough. I’ve had the Tamron 28-75 & it was great...light and fun to shoot with. Unfortunately, the 17-28 is out of stock, so I went with the Sigma. Hopefully it was the right decision
Go for this if you want UWA. There's so many options after 24mm. But 14mm zoom, only this one. IQ, this is excellent for its price. For my country Tamron and Sigma difference is only USD250. Tamron is very plasticky and I had trouble inserting it to my camera body and the zoom ring manoeuvre was a pain.
what's kinda interesting, that you actually said the zoom ring works the other way, which is actually for me the natural way to go. coming from canon to sony, I'm honestly always super annoyed with way how it works with sony haha. I'm used to have a lens start at the widest length and moving (especially part of the lens moving out) with longer focal lengths. weird.
@@ChrisTurnerPhotographer the lens is dg dn art. fe is for the samyang line. give the art lens its respect. your stills are nice, your video skills are crap. work on that. the shake. get a damn gimbal. no excuse. or at least fix some of it in post. good audio though

How do you like color contrast on Sigma when comparing it to Tamron 17-28mm? Is there any major difference?
Hey Chris! What is the song in the background? Lovin the vibe of your videos. Thanks man!
Great lens. Great processing tips! Thanks!

Good video man, thanks.
I would say, don't use s-log, the a7III looks much better without a picture profile or a good custom one.
nice tripod man, name?

Hey Chris! Thank you for the video. Were you using a filter for the video to expose correctly? or just crank the shutter?
Cranking that shutter my man haha

You're footage is smoother than others when vlogging? Are you using any stabilization or are your hands just that steady?
Is it? Just thanks held, I don’t think I’m that steady lol
just purchased your v2 presets man and loving them, will spread the word on your amazing work and channel cheers
Thanks a lot bro!

Chris at 1:02 (video timer) you arm looks like 3 meter long . . Hahaha.!
But for landscape this lens is perfect.
I too bought the sigma 17-28 and this sigma was on my radar.
Tamron 17-28?
@@reubnn yes tamron. Sorry :)
Tyson Tran 😂
You are right, the landscape is not your strongest skill fo now...
😂😂😂
@@ChrisTurnerPhotographer I'm sure you'll get better...
Great review for this lens though, was gonna get the tamron 17-28, but 17mm probably isn't enough for what I'm looking for
