Great "down to earth" video. Love how a real long exposure (like your 2 minutes) can sometimes transform an ordinary sky into interesting as you achieved here. I've tended to convert stops to their equivalent e.g. 2^10 = 1024 (so I just think 1000x longer) and then, whatever it is without the filter, I just multiply e.g. 1/200th x 1000 = 5s , or whatever. No app required. But you're also right in saying eventually it becomes instinctive. Looking forward to plenty more 14-24mm landscapes !
Another great video Ben, keep up the good work. I have got the Fotodiox Wanderpana filter system on my 14-24 and it's a beast, but I to do love this lens so sharp.
Great video, glad to see you are back with your Nikon, seems like when everyone tries something else they always keep comparing back to their previous DSLR set ups.
Enjoyed the video and you still ended up with a great shot. Shame about buying the lens. I use Nikon 17-35 as did not want to buy the Lee filters again.
some say tamron 15-30 is better or equal to nikon 14 mm andis markedly cheaper .Whats ur take ben? I am a d810 user and searching for a good wideangle lens.
Great Video, I use the same setup only instead of the Nik 14-24mm, I use the Tamron 15-30mm 2.8 and it is also a great lens for landscape but those types of lenses are heavy, But man you cant beat the Lee SW150 Filter system great filters, a tad on the expensive side but worth every penny when you see the results..
Hey Ben cool video mate and some very nice shots there. I might have to pic your brains in a few months for some good locations in the west of sydney I.e penrith area. As i have decided to take the job i told you about on Instagram and i will be back home in August. hopefully i will be able to up grade some kit later in the year. would like a couple of new lens' or maybe body as well. only have a D3300 with a nikon 18-5mm and a Tamron 70-300mm. well cool vid mate looking forward to the next one.
After using that lens for years, I got tired of it. The lens flare really limits your use of it. I traded it in for a Zeiss Milvus 15mm. The differences is night and day. It makes the nikon look like a toy.
Hi Ben, I like how you show where you are at with the map on the globe. Keep sending us your videos, I really look forward to learning from them.
Thanks Ray. That was a new edition to my vids... just worked out how to do it! Thanks, Ben

Thanks Derek! Glad you enjoyed it and the long exposure worked a treat!
thank you for spending some time with us during your vacation.
You're welcome!

Nigel Fenton very sharp. A favourite of mine.
I owned the 14-24 with the lee 150 filter system. It is good. I now own the Tamron 15-30 and Haida 150 filter system. Both are better.
Jason Taylor nice to know. I already had the lee system so it works for me.
Hear ya. If you need some 150s though, check out Haida glass ones on eBay, much cheaper and super quality.
Will be interesting to see your upcoming videos in your winter, while summer here in Illinois, enjoyed the video!
Thanks! I will have the beanie on :D
Great video, glad to see you are back with your Nikon, seems like when everyone tries something else they always keep comparing back to their previous DSLR set ups.
I do love the Nikon
the 14-24 is an amazing lens..happy shooting Ben!
Salva Kumaran Annamalai 😊
Thanks for another great video! I love that you don't always show successes. I learn more!
Margaret Gibson thanks I am glad you enjoyed it. As the song goes... some days are diamonds...
Enjoyed the video and you still ended up with a great shot. Shame about buying the lens. I use Nikon 17-35 as did not want to buy the Lee filters again.
Thanks John, still a great lens
I've had excellent results buying used equipment from mpb.com. Everything is as advertised or better, and they give a 6-month warranty.
First place I caught fish so long I needed two buckets. And boney!
Two Buckets! Did you cut it in half :D
Ben Fewtrell The fish were barracouta. Very long for their diameter, and a contender for the boniest fish ever.
John Summerfield yes, with gnarly teeth
Very nice video. Brilliant shots. If I may ask...how do you decide, which camera you are taking out on a given day?
Normally i just take out my Nikon, but sometimes i want something lighter, so i take my fuji
what a lovely guy i had no idea you could use filters with a lens like that
Kevin Richards thanks.
some say tamron 15-30 is better or equal to nikon 14 mm andis markedly cheaper .Whats ur take ben?
I am a d810 user and searching for a good wideangle lens.
I like the 14-24, but have never tried the Tamron
Thanks Ben .
Maybe not the colourful pictures you were expecting, but the video was informative.
Susan Menis thanks
How do you find the 14-24mm compared to the 16-35mm or 17-35mm in terms of performance? I'm kind of in the market for an ultra-wide lens.
The 14-24 is much better, but, it is twice the price
Another enjoyable and inspirational vlog thank you Ben.👌
Andy Keeble cheers mate 🍻
Is there an easy way to geotrack the image you find on google images?
Not that I know of.
Hi Ben, I have seen the Ball Head you are using on many other YT videos but haven't got any details about it. Who makes it and model please?
Really Right Stuff
Tamron 15-30 is better and cheaper. However i'd take the 16-35 over both so i can use my lee filters.
I like the 14-24
very good Ben i like your work to me you are easy person to understand and i have learn a lot from you thanks John Cruz
Thanks Jon. I appreciate it

I agree, hard to beat... but man they are BIG!
Love this I have d810 but need too find a 14-24 there like hens teeth :-)
Mark McNeill plenty on ebay.
Hard to find at the right price
Plenty on eBay but you maybe as well buy a brand new one lol
£900 English pounds second hand
So your saying you like this lens over the 16-35 f4 & the 17-35 you did the reviews on?

The Blue Mountains will be at your doorstep mate! Plenty of shooting options!
Ben Fewtrell cool I will just wander around and see what I can when I'm in the mountains 👍🏻
bigoz1977 sounds like a plan
They both good but fujifilm make it easy and fun
Bilal Izaddin definitely
Don't rent that lens out !
I Wont... I am shutting the rental business... too many thieves in this world
Ben Fewtrell Tooooooooo True !

Oh Geez, another reviewer speaking with the King's English accent, sometimes speaking softly or slurring the words. What did (s)he say?
