Definitely didn't realize you could switch which way the door opened. Helpful video. Good job
Glad it helped!!!
Only the dryer for Samsung
amazing video thank you
i would just like to say, there seems to be 2 types of metal brackets but it should still still flush in the back depending on which bracket you need depending on the waching machine you are stacking
Thank you for posting this, I was wanting to do this but not exactly sure how it would work
It works great! Happy with how this turned out. Good luck!
We have almost the same set. I was thinking about stacking them, but I have to remove a shelf I have above them to do it. I have been wondering if it was worth the effort. This video makes me think I should try it.
I just stacked ours, I had to cut the shelf down. Luckily I had enough in the cut off piece to make another shelf under the original. Was definitely worth the extra floor space
Good idea and good use of the space!
Thanks so much! I didn’t know that I could reverse the door! You’re awesome!
Glad it helped!!!
Thinking about stacking our in the laundry room and add a small closet in that space instead to help with additional storage
It’s easy to do!
Thanks for the video.
On the dryer cord length issue, I think it’s becoming more common to see the receptacles placed around 3 ft high on the wall to allow easier access while still being hidden behind the appliance, which would definitely be more convenient all-around.
Great point!!
That's actually how they do it in my country (Bosnia) with the power outlet for washing machines specifically (in the bathroom).
Never really understood why because nobody I've known stacked or even had a dryer, I just assumed it was to make the outlet available for other appliances as well without having to move the washer.
But now that I've bought both washer and dryer and want to stack them I realize why.
I guess I'm just too advanced for my country. haha 😂
Was there two different brackets for the rear of the set. It seems that the brackets used are not the correct brackets?
The kit includes one set of brackets but they have multiple holes to allow you to find a bolt combination that works.
Hi, I have a Amana washer dryer not recent should be 5-6 plus years old.
Are they stackable using the similar accessories you have used in the video?
@@jitendrapatil99 yes there are universal kits like this one:
amzn.to/3A5e5Yh
You may also find a GE version that fits your Amana.
The dryer sits a few inches back to move the center of gravity backwards, preventing accidents by making it more stable
@@nandosv great point!
Thank you so much !! This was such a great help !! Hope you too have a great day!!!
Great! Glad it helped!
Nicely done! Was wondering how I would "unstack" the Samsung washer/dryer that is in the home that we purchased. Problem solved! Thanks
Glad it helped! Even for unstacking! Thanks for your comment.
Did you have to put screws into the back of the dryer or do those brackets act only as a back stop?
I installed screws
Hey thanks for this great video! I'm thinking of getting the same set of washer&dryer and stacking them this way. Is there any chance that you can measure the total height of the washer and dryer stacked? I'd really appreciate it if you can. Thanks for considering!
can any washer dryer be stacked? or the only ones that say stackable.?
@@aqeelshah6627 with the right kit any set can
interesting my kit did not come with a tool and instructions are in french LOL . Thank you very much 😃
Hope you have everything you need to get it done!
@@ApacheRanch Yes Thanks
Thank you! Excellent video with great information. Have a great day ahead.
Glad it helped!
Hello. Do you have a video on how to reverse the dryer door? Thank you
There seems to only be one screw hole to screw the bracket to the washer, is that correct?
It might be that way. In that case use self tapping screws to add additional support if you don’t feel it will be secure enough.
Best buy installed the rear bracket backwards, and as a result the dryer hangs 2-3 inches over the front of the washer instead of sitting back. Beside the fact it looks crappy, is this going to cause problems long term?
That’s a bit curious. I would have that fixed. If the top unit hangs over the bottom, access to controls and visibility are both impacted. I do not suspect that it would cause the dryer to fall forward, but I’m sure it just looks weird. I’d call Best Buy and have them come back and fix it.
@@ApacheRanch I had them fix it. Samsung actually said that improper installation would void the warranty.
Makes sense. Glad you got it figured out!!
Thank you for helping us 👍🏻
Glad it helped!!
Can you use a universal kit and if so what should you lookout for?
Possibly. I would be most concerned about the brackets in the back allowing you to connect top and bottom units.
Hi there great video! Just wondering how easily you reach the dryer controls? Is it awkward? 🤔
It works just fine. Easy to do! Thanks for your comment.
Thanks for the help!
How difficult is it to reach the controls on the dryer now that it's stacked?
Not an issue that I noticed. My wife is 5’3” and she can operate it just fine.
thanks for help, what is total height when installed?
About 6 1/2 feet tall
Thank you very helpful
Thanks so much!
You’re welcome
This video is so helpful. Do you need any space between the top of the dryer and the ceiling ?
I’m no expert but I do not believe so. All the venting is out the back.
Is this pretty universal across most Samsung models? Mine is from 2017.
Yes they are all basically the same
@@ApacheRanch Sorry, meaning, would this particular bracket system i can buy at Amazon likely work on mine? Likely yes? Thx!
Yes. If it’s a front loader with about 27” width then these kits will work. Here’s an example:
amzn.to/4cetvHv
What is the total height of the washer and dryer stacked?
About 6 feet tall
@@ApacheRanch thank you so much for the info.
I hope it helps!!!
The kit used in the video has a different hole configuration that the Amazon link. I would like to know which one was used in the video.
Is that the same unit where the washing machine controls the dryer?
No. These are two independent units. Thanks for your question.
Great info. Thanks
Did you have any issues with your whole unit shaking and moving forward when the washer is in spin cycle? I think i have the same unit as you but we have been having an issue with it moving so much we can’t use it safely.
I haven’t had that issue. Check that your machine is spinning ok when empty? Verify the feet are level underneath? Also ensure that your washer is on the bottom and dryer on top? Those are the main things that come to mind. I wish you the best.
@@ApacheRanch Thanks it turned out that the shipping bolts weren't removed and that was the issue. Once we removed the machine was fine.
Great! Glad you figured it out!!
Thank you
You’re welcome!
Great THANKS!
Glad it helped
I need a dryer to stack mine, are these kits “generally” interchangeable with Samsung products? My washing machine is black stainless and im trying to find a black stainless dryer and concerned it’s won’t “match” the washer but seems to me it’ll work fine….. as long as they are similar size obviously. The correct matching sizes.
I believe they are. The bracket is not extremely specific to either unit. There is a base flat area and the screws in the back can vary in location in the brackets. For only about $25-30, I think a kit is worth a try. I wish you the best.
@@ApacheRanch thank you. I believe it’ll work as long as it’s generally the same. If anything I’ll drill the holes myself and put washers on the backside 😂😂. Thank you.
I agree! I wish you the best. Let me know how it works out.
@@ApacheRanch question sir…. I got my dryer I got my washer I have my stacking kit…. There is only 1 screw that goes into the washer ????? Just one? That seems crazy but it looks like just one. I am just double checking this. Looks as if it’s going to fit great!
Yeah on mine I believe that only one screw lined up with an existing hole. I added a second screw by creating a new hole. Can’t remember if I showed that in the video or not. Honestly they don’t really move around much and one screw is probably fine. It’s really just guiding it there.
This was helpful thanks! That's the heaviest washing machine I've ever touched the thing weighs about 500 pounds it seems
Yeah they load them with weights for balance during the fast spin cycles.
@@ApacheRanch be good for scrap metal in a year or two when it fails
Actually working on a repair video for a Samsung washer right now… spiderarm bracket disintegrated… 🤦♂️
Did you lift it your self
I would recommend having a helper. It's a pain to set it in the right spot, and deal with the heavy cable, etc.
i think i have got scratches on the washing machine because it moves fast , there is stacking unit and the dryer is on top, scratches any help my friend?
Thank u
I hope it helps!!!
Just what I needed to know , thanks
Glad that it helped you. Thanks for your comment
Very helpful, thank you

Is it ok to put the washer on top of the dryer?
The washer is MUCH heavier than the dryer... I would not suggest doing that.
Awesome video, I’m moving to a smaller place in a couple of days and your video gave me the idea to do this and hopefully have some space because ours will be in a closet now instead of a room. Do you know how tall the whole thing is when staked I’m scared our closet isn’t tall enough.
Looked to see if you already mentioned it but I didn’t see it. Hopefully I’m not asking a question twice
Stacked they are about 6 foot 6 inches tall. I hope this helps.
Beautiful 💖😍🎊💝
I’ve never seen a washer and dryer like that
My uncle had the same set …..sadly he drank a gallon of varnish…..he had a horrible death but a lovely finish
Haha
didnt show lifting the dryer
You will the help of a friend
any suggestions for the washing machine they brought it to me today I tried it when there were 10 minutes left when it got fast the spin started to shake and even jumped and sounded hard, it's new from lowell the store but I had to turn it off because it was jumping and shaking I really don't like that washer and dryer at all
It sounds like the machine is unbalanced. Immediately call lowes and they will send back the installation crew to adjust it. Also, you might take a look at the four adjustable feet underneath each corner and try to lower any corner that appears to not be firmly touching the ground. These feet move in/out simply by spinning them. I wish you the best.
Hello
Hi!
i would just make my own braket to make it sit flush
Yeah that works too. But that alignment on the front side might be intrusive. Have to try it out.
You need space for detergent and bleach…. Especially bleach…. Best offset!
@@andrewbos8837 nop I just checked it comes out far enough and if you really need to put bleach push the yellow tab and the whole tray comes out
Good video. My only suggestion is to avoid going with Samsung. Entire dryer has to be taken apart to change the heating coil. Washer failed as well. Bearing and shocks need replacing after 6 years.
Haha shocks on a dryer?
6 years is a good run for a washing machine, especially without knowing how often were you using it or how much laundry do you typically load it with. Perhaps you even had a tendency to load it over the maximum capacity without thinking about it, who knows...
I don't see the need to complain about it, honestly.
In fact, Samsung is way better than most budget brands and they also have an extended 5-year warranty (that clearly guaranteed more than 5 years of trouble-free service in your case).
On top of that, modern Samsung machines all work with minimum of vibrations and with a 20-year guarantee on inverter technology for electromotors.
I know because I just bought 2 brand spankin' new ones, a washer and a dryer and they're fantastic. They even have the clever tech that determines if it's overloaded or not.
I loved my Samsung set when I first got it. But at 6 years old we have to make the decision to repair or replace. And repairing is almost terrifying. Dryer got repaired 2 years ago and power button sometimes doesn’t work, multiple repair people. Samsung customer service is awful. Usually do 5-6 loads a week. Rest of my family has different brand of washers does 5-7 loads a week and has had them for 10 years. Mother in laws was 15 years old when she replaced hers this month.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
MY ONLY ADVICE
BUY ONCE CRY ONCE’
My lg name brand mounting kit was $40
U wanna risk dryer falling off damaging it and having to buy a $800 new dryer? Be my guest
There’s some things u just don’t
“Rig/ hack” spend the extra $10 do it rite and never mess with it again
Not trying to be mean just my advice’ as u age u learn things the hard way lol’
Great points!
How incredibly absurd that they have designed this to have the dryer sit back when these things are so deep already and people struggle with the dryer vent! I'd rather build a shelving system to hold the dryer above the washer so they're equal facing. Absolutely stupid design on Samsung's part.
Yeah you have a point.
Mine don’t set back that far, and the fronts are flush. Maybe you got the wrong stacking kit for your units?
@onekidthere I’ve seen both versions out there. Flush for some universal kits. Set back for others.
Shows you that someone has to show you how to assemble .Shows how dumb down people are over the years .
thank u
