I went to GameStop yesterday hunting for amiibos, and I actually saw the employee unwrap new Xbox One games and putting a "Used" sticker on it. When I first heard GameStop stories of such and such, I thought it was just to make the story more interesting. But actually seeing it in person, I'm done giving them my business.
Recently went to work at a Walmart. When I worked on Thanksgiving it wasn't over time but I did get a voucher for 15% off in addition to my 10% employee discount. It was only good for one purchase but it could be for anything; a TV, a couple of carts of groceries, whatever. I eventually put it towards the purchase of an Xbox One X. Saved me a hundred dollars.
I worked at a Gamestop that was in a shopping complex with Target, Best Buy, and a Meijer. Black Friday was hard on our store since all the stores had better deals. We were the store they went to when the other 3 stores sold out.
Closest I got to something like this is when I worked at target in Kentucky worked all evening on thanksgiving into 4 in the morning then went home for 4 hours then came back in to work till 8pm on black Friday
GameStop finally had a good black Friday deal lineup this year. I almost always go to Walmart or best buy. (Last year, Walmart had all these games out with stickers on them coding the deals. I got several brand new games for 30 bucks.) But this year 3 out of the 4 games I got were cheapest from GameStop (online) They finally figured out that they have to compete if they want to get our dollars. Lol. Ridiculous it's taken them this long
I see the compassion you have & its sad what GameStop has become There are about 6 GS within a 35 minute radius of me & it's sad to meet some really good Management & knowing there jobs are in jeopardy within the next 6 Months

I remember when I worked my first Black Friday at a jeans store and it wasn't that bad. My shift was 5 pm till 2 am on Thanksgiving night and I was a merchandise stocker bringing in jeans and helping other associates getting jeans. My second Black Friday was pretty bad cause I was a Co leader and had to make sure the new people knew how to stock and deliver the items on the floor swarming with people, that day I was working on Black Friday from 11 am till 8 pm. Overall fun experiences.
My last job was actually closed on thanksgiving, but the big deal for Black Friday was that everybody had to come in that day no matter what, and if you had an accident that required you to call out, best believe you were written up for that day.
So like I started to check out bestbuy with all the good word you talk about them so I was wondering does bestbuy have pre orders for sports games? And how would I go about canceling a pre order and changing it or is that only shit GameStop does??
+Berks TV you can preorder at Best Buy. You just got to ask someone. But they won't force it down your throat at checkout. You can also cancel a pre-order if you want as well.

There are malls that are opened 364 days a year. Honestly, I don't understand why any business feels they need to be open during family stat days. People typically spend those days with family and should be with family.
They are not the only ones opened on Thanksgiving. As long as consumers are willing to go out on Thanksgiving to shop then the retailers will open. The multi billion dollar retailers don't give a damn about families just how to make their pockets bigger.
