This game offers some pretty cool FMV's and the gameplay looks fun but really isn't. The game plays fast and the enemies have quite a lot of HP. Your weapon gets stronger if you keep placing hits accurately. Ten hits in a row, fifty hits in a row and.. hundred? I forgot. Unfortunately most enemies move around too much making it really difficult to accurately place hits which basically means you'll be shooting with the lowest tier bullet all throughout the game. The first level is showed like this, but because the gameplay is TAS'd I managed to abuse save states for the other stages and keep my bullet streak and thus have stronger bullets (which makes the gameplay way more enjoyable to view, honestly). Overall, the game had a lot of potential to be absolutely awesome but kinda killed it with the bullet streak and the high enemy HP. Would've loved a remake of this where killing enemies rewards you points allowing you to upgrade your weapon as well as switch weapons. Shotgun, pistol, machine gun, bazooka.
i remember hearing about this game from the late screwattack and there laughably outdated even back then top 10 worst reboots and remakes this was #1 btw
The funny thing about this game is that while both versions were in japan. The GameCube version is in the the USA but the PS2 version titled Space Invaders: Invasion Day is in Europe.
0:11 idk what it is but i love the way taito is said and i can’t find that version in another other media they produced. also i love that menu music so much i wish i could find it by itself ugh
I just got done playing this on emulator for the woman's story... This was really hard. I am terrible and absolute garbage at this game genre, but I had a lot of fun. Unfortunately I kept getting hit and losing my streak. My fear is that this is easy and I just suck at bullet hells and this game type. My final score is a whopping 23,000 points after beating the final boss. Yeah, top tier... totally getting a high score. I found everything else really good. I am glad that there are no game overs in Story Mode!
It's a really hard game and if your points were just 23,000, it means you never held up any bullet combos which is part of the reason why it was so hard
@@longplayarchive I get that, it was fun otherwise. At least it wasn't just me. Not generally good at this genre. Thankfully, it isn't like super punishing and forces you to start over at the beginning of the game every death. I never would have beat the game unless I actually relied on Save States and used them and that would have been annoying if that was case! Lol
Im not sure if anyone has noticed but the US version (probably pal too) is missing something from the intro movie. To be exact its missing: -13 seconds of additional animation (that is the moment the alien spaceship comes and attacks the city and is intercepted by f15s which are destroyed. - And in the animation here, every shot that captures the sky, the big mother ship has been removed in all scenes of the intro leaving a clear sky with smoke to stare at. Rumor has it, this was done because the additional removed animation and those edited scenes resembled a lot the Independence day movie attack. Another rumor is something related to the twin towers attack (just like in Max Payne they removed the twin towers from the intro on consoles) But i highly suspect it was due to the Independence Day look a like . The full version can be seen on the jap, release, probably the Korean one also. No idea about pal, but since pal was the last one to come out by a 1 .4 years of delay, it was probably the us version ? Anyone has some info on that ?
I saw this in a scott the woz video and it looked so bad that it is good but it's $10 and the game is not worth it to me for $4 or less just going to laugh at how bad this is

Hello, nice to meet you, LongsplayArchive! 😉

I Love This Game For PlayStation 2

I just got this game and its tedious, also it says you can play the original Space Invaders on it but I don't know how
its a cheat
Now I can see why the low reviews lol

Did you play the other two scenarios?
Wait wait wait, theyre different?
I just checked and they seem the same? Just different weapon
@@longplayarchive They have different endings.
Its kinda like old skool handhelds
48:47 never follow it up
God this game is awful. The ending was especially bad. You went through all that trouble only to learn the invasion is still going.
"The only good bug is a dead bug"
39:20 LMFAO
😫🤩
Nostalgy
HOW YOU RIDE SPACE= ELON HAHAHAH PLS BE MORE STRONG
this was a copy of space invaders
it's a reboot a very bad one but it's supposed to be a dark, gritty version of space invaders god knows why
This game looks so boring. Lol The colors are too washed out and dull, also.
I saw this in a scott the woz video and it looked so bad that it is good but it's $10 and the game is not worth it to me for $4 or less just going to laugh at how bad this is
It's 30 bucks now. The video game market is crazy. Lol
