Fantastic. I used to work in Indonesia and very often had tempeh. It was typically fried in oil until it was golden brown all around, and it was usually served as a side dish with the main meal. I have tried making it myself once, where I live in the UK, but I didn't get very good results as it is hard to find the right temperature even in the summer.
Indonesian average temperature are between 18 - 28°C, So if you're planning to go to make the tempeh, maybe u're can adjust it with some heater to achieve that temperatures And don't forget to use banana leaves to wrap it
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato try to cook it with a batter, kind of a fish and chips batter then add some green onions in it, will be much much better
It's funny but the mycelium that colonizes the soybeans is all over the place and in the air in Indonesia. One could put their soybeans out anywhere without adding the mycelium and eventually they would turn to tempeh. I love tempeh and used to make it myself but it never came out perfect for me like yours.
Tempeh is so versatile! But I personally (and most Indonesians) prefer to fry it in hot oil and then serve it with warm white rice. it would be even better if you had any savory sauce.
Most people fry it, I like to chop mine put it in the pan with water and salt and cook until water is gone, then I fry it with little bit of oil and curry powder. It soaks a bit less oil this way. Add salt to taste, you can also use soy sauce on it instead of curry powder.
If you want to fry the tempeh, use garlic, salt and corriander. Mashed them together and add a little bit of water. Soak the tempeh on that mixture before frying.
Please do not apologize! It is simply the only recipe in all these years I've been watching that I really would not try. I enjoy your channel very much!@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato

Teak leaves I never tried 👍🏼 thanks for the information
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato mostly for the inner layer they use banana leaves then wrapped with teak leaves.
@randomreal3228 ok 👍🏼
Now im curious to see tempeh grow hair like that. Looks like a chinese "hairy tofu" ive seen
Maybe looks similar, but the texture is very different, because in tempeh you used the whole soybeans grain, not even cut it
I will try to make the video 😉
