  • SEAT Ateca FR Review of the 2.0L TSI with DSG gearbox and road test, the first SUV of the VWG manufacturer, pulls 0-62 in 7.1 seconds, and gets around 37mpg, roomy, safe at NCAP 5 and practical.
    This has a rather small footprint meaning it's fun and nimble on a back road, combine that with driving modes and this SUV fast becomes a warm hatch.
    Smart looks, tech loaded and comfortable.

    I love the video. You present as 2 nerdy car enthusiasts and give lots of useful information. This is a lovely contrast to the more sneering videos. The other channels seem to put out and it’s refreshing to watch. I will definitely check this car out when I go to the garage today

      Glad you liked it Barry, Michael left sometime ago, it’s now Annabelle and myself, keep us posted on how you get on.

    Great Video Review. I particularly like the body styling and a great looking Interior

      Thank you, the exterior is just aggressive enough to keep an understated look.

    Loving the video guys! I was looking at a Seat Leon fr sport 2.0. But as I'm getting older my back gets painful in lower positioned cars. I find myself almost having to swing myself in. The seats look gorgeous and the higher up driving position looks excellent. I'm just concerned that I'll miss my golfs hatchbackness (if that makes any sense). Thanks for the video 😀

      If know how to drive an SUV you can have a lot of fun in one - take Skoda Kodiaq vRS! Saying that, Ben had a lot of fun in the Ateca, and put a lot of cars around here in their places! One of our cars is a Mk2 Golf (16v GTI) so we love the hatchbacks too.

    There are few reviews of the VAG 2.0 190PS TSI-engined vehicles, so it's nice to see one. It seems an interesting alternative to the 2.0TDI for people who are moving away from diesels but don't want to lose out on the low down grunt of a diesel.

      Glad you liked it, MrSonicAdvance! Yes that sums it up well, fantastic motor.

    How did you end up reviewing the FR model without the digital cluster and automatic boot lid?
    Both would be a minimum if I was buying a 2019 FR model.

      That was the press car spec, what we receive depends on what they have.

    It's a real pity it doesn't come with a black roof option like the Arona.

    • @PlanetautoUK

      That would really make it, thank you *Annabelle

    After over 25 years of oil burners , Thinking of trading our Qashqai in for a seat fr sport 190 Petrol ?? Would it be ok to tow a caravan . BIG jump diesel to petrol lol. Our Qashqai does 45 mpg around the doors . We average 12k yearly . AND petrol is cheaper . Enjoyed the review . Been thinking also Tuscan, Kia , Wild card would be the NEW MG HS which is not available in the uk as yet . But has a 2l 225 bhp motor .

      2100kg appears to be the towing weight for the Ateca, Kia would be a good option, as for the HS we’ll have to sit and wait for the time being, thank you *ben

    Front assist is NOT cruise control. It only warns you, and brakes in emergencies

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it’s not but it does work in conjunction with it, it also detects whether your braking enough and applies more pressure if it determines it, it also works on parked car pulling out up to around 25mph, thank you

    • @RogueRiderUk
      @RogueRiderUk 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree! Front Assist is nothing like Active Cruise Control.... it's an emergency breaking system. Like the review but that was a little misleading!

      @@PlanetautoUK yeah.... but you also said it can take avoiding action later on in the review...... I have a Leon with the same system and that isn't what they do. Look, it's no drama. There's alot of information to get into one of these reviews and I'm sure if I was doing one I'd have got plenty wrong!

      @@RogueRiderUk yes, I used to get things wrong, usually they’re edited out- and this was when Michael was part of the team, he’s been left 15 months, how time flies in a pandemic, I’m currently editing Leon Hybrid Sports Tourer video, thank you Rogue 😊 *B
