Nice all-round review of this fantastic car. I bought the same spec FR (34k with 15% discount) as your test model for use mainly on mountain roads and motorways. Fast mid-range acceleration makes overtaking on mountain roads a breeze and handling is safe on winter tyres in snowy and icy conditions :)
great review, informative and an actual review and not just an opinion. €46 is expensive as in the UK you can get the full version (not FR but the Xcellence Lux) for converted €39K, however the trims are very different. Anyway, great review and has helped me greatly, as I will be buying one!
Great review. You say it as it is, show some nice shots to give us the feel of ownership. Would be nice if you used the occasional text on screen to announce the following comment..... steering, engine, mpg, 0-60mph stats , etc
Good review. I have just ordered this colour in FR sport ,which has active dash and full leather now. The Ateca handles so much better than 2018 Tiguan SEL , which is it's close cousin, that I have just said goodbye too. It is also more attractive.
Love your review, congratulations! Btw, of course the sporty feeling was achieved on purpose. Seat is supposed to be a sporty brand into VW group and also you're driving the sporty version (FR).
Your video skill is still going up. Could u maybe sometime make Review about older (used) cars too? I mean if u r interested in this stuff of course ;) Keep up the good work!
I am thinking about buying this car, however I can't decide between the 190 hp petrol or diesel. I kind of want to buy the petrol, however the diesel is slighlty quicker, more economical and actually cheaper to buy, so I can't really justify buying the petrol :/
Nice car, same techno as VW and Audi (motor, DSG, front assist, multimedia, 4Motion) but cheaper ...yes the Audi's look is nice but price is too high.My futur car.
Maybe it's my future car.if petrol does 7,5 and 9 l/100klm how many less does the diesel.?!?!?! I'm leaning on diesel and I'm waiting for the tarraco to come!!you are the best car journalist on TH-cam !!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍I have to mention that ateca fr costs 35.500 for petrol and 37.000 for diesel in greece!!yours 46.000 sounded expensive!!
The ones who bought this (myself included) BIT AND ATE THE SEATS OF THIS DAMN CAR when Cupra Ateca was released one year after, with 300hp at almost the same price... 😫
@@CarManiac_Chris VW Group DSG transmission differs from a traditional automatic one, as it is mechanically more in common with an old manual transmission. It is dual clutch: if you look at the shafts you will see that it is basically two manual transmissions put in one housing, working simultaneously each with its own multi-plate clutch and being operated in an automatic mode by a mechatronic unit. Now, mechatronics are similar to robotics (with the exception that mechatronics need an input, whereas robotics decide independently), hence DSG transmission is often called a robot as opposed to a traditional automatic transmission. So in essence DSG is two manual transmissions with a brain in a shape of a computer that has the sole task to predict what the hell are you going to do the next moment and preselect the next gear. If it guesses right, DSG is smooth as silk, if it guesses wrong, the transmission gets jerky. I hope it does not sound too confusing.
PLEASE keep your hands on that steering wheel at all times (ESPECIALLY when you have your family with you). You’ve obviously no experience, or idea of the implications of a sudden front wheel blowout.
Great review. Very informative. Excellent job

Thank you for your nice feedback! I can imagine that you are enjoying this car! It really convinced me!!!

Eben mal aus Neugier was Altes rausgesucht. Sehr schönes Englisch, da geht einem das Herz auf.
Ateca has digital dashboard as an option

I have the Ateca Fr Sport 4drive diesel. Full UK spec, my opinion is it's epic and on my daily journey to work get around 48mpg.
great review mate thank you

Thank you a lot for the feedback!

Thank you a lot!! Happy that you like it! Well - what do you mean with older cars? How old?
So in the city you have the advantage of a 190hp engine to go from 0 to 30kmph in 1.5 seconds?

Since this is an FR, how is it in comfort, over bumps and such?
Great review, except for the background music.

Hi Nick! Thank you a lot!! Well 46.000 is fully optional.. Yes - The Diesel will Swallow 2l less on the highway
What you mean by litres what is the mpg
Em Portugal o Ateca 2.0 TDI CR 190 XCellence 4Drive DSG S&S custa 44.495,61€, enquanto o Macan PDK, o mais barato de todos, custa 67.284,37€!!!!
But the basic price of the Macan in Germany is 54.000€. Of course standard and smallest engine...
Just to see how it's possible in a small and poor country like Portugal, have such difference to the same car in Germany... Politics

It’s 6.9 0-60 not 7.9 seconds
Reason why it feels faster is because you are seated higher
Dsg isn't automatic gearbox its manual with robot that shifts the gears
???
