I ordered an Ateca Xcellence Lux 1.5 DSG in Nevada white late last Friday afternoon. My car is already in port. I have to have some quite expensive adaptations added (Kivi K5 under-ring accelerator and brake setup + 40 KG two-way boot hoist). I am moving from a 2 litre diesel Ford C-Max. Although it looks a trifle frumpy, that is a lovely and very lively car to drive. I will have to see what this car is like to drive. Yet again, I'm going to have to learn to drive again; this time with very posh hand controls. I am hopeful about getting my Ateca by the end of the month. Perhaps I am being rather too optimistic.
I drove one in the UK recently. Very nice with auto and paddle gear change. Because I am tall, the seat was right back so the steering wheel was too far away, but the brake pedal was still too high.
After 10k km in the Ateca Excellence Plus I would agree with most everything. And yes, a price northwards of 30k is a bit much for a few fancy extras. Whats also a bit much is the kangarooing effect that is now well documented in Seat Ateca forums, and for which now 2 software updates have been issued, but still only partially fix the problem. Beware, if you have the 1.5l engine! You might find yourself stuck between a tight spot and an oncoming 40t truck!!!
Thank you so much for the extra input about the software updates. Sounds very frustrating. Other than that I hope you're really enjoying your Ateca! Happy driving
We are changing soon from a Qashqai , We favour the EXCELLANCE . As has a reversing camera fr sport hasn't . We would go for the 150 diesel 4x4 auto . Like you say specing it up is costly my Nissan has all the toys . Tested 1.4 petrol auto . impressive drive for a 1.4 but no 4x4 ??? Great review subbed your channel look out for more reviews chees . Good watch
It's a tough decision. No bad cars there. I would suggest test driving each of them and seeing which tickles your fancy the most. There's a new Kuga coming shortly, so maybe hold off to see how that drives. Happy shopping.
IF you had mentioned price at beginning, think I would have went to next vid.. cant help thinking a lot ofthe Arona in there.. And is the crossover boom, now been takingadvantage off financially....
Really like your reviews. Very "real worldly" if that's a word but overall a refreshing change to the norm... 100% agree with you though....FORTY ONE THOUSAND 🤣🤣🤣 are they mentally insane
Thanks a million, really glad you enjoyed the review. Yes, it's quite steep isn't it! What i will say is if anyone has the money and does decide to spend it on that they won't be disappointed!
Really enjoyed this car. Probably one of the nicest cars to drive in that segment of the market. Not to mention how good it looks!!
Really interesting informative review! I am loving my new Ateca - great car :)

12V socket in the boot and a drawer beneath the front passenger seat are a cheap option to add (cca 40EU).
Thinking of getting one cant decide between it tiguan, kuga, 3008 like the BMW X1 also.

So which one did you get in the end, I’m picking up my ateca this this week
What were the optional extras on this car to make it so expensive?

Yeah it's a very fair point. It's such a shame it costs so much as really it the only downfall.
Haha 'crossover boom' - very well put!
Cheers for compliment d.d.If you do the reviews, will try to do the puns.but still have to keep it real....
Is the 1.0 underpowered?
The eletric seats are a option
They come as standard on some …. Like the FR sport 👍
When the new seat ateca will comes ?
I'm unsure to be honest. This one is quite new so i cant imagine it will be for a few years.
I thought 2.0tsi was 190bhp and not 150?
£40k??? WTH!!
Is this the only ateca with visible twin exhaust pipes

40.000? With that you can get the Cupra Ateca.
I wish but unfortunately in Ireland with all our extra taxes prices for the Cupra Ateca start at over 50k!
A U X point lol
