You can see Lucinda’s influence in both the dressage and show jumping. You really keep Dee in front of your leg consistently, and when you do, she thrives. This was very good to watch. Good for you for doing it so bravely. As always, loved Pete’s Eats.
The dressage warm-up was really good. Especially the trot lengthening. Also, when you start getting anxious just picture how Dee went around with Ellie. Dee is a very capable pony...
Literally tearing up for you and Dee coming across the finish on xc. So proud of you Meggy, overcoming the nerves after a bad fall is such a challenge and you’ve done amazing even just to get back out there again💕
Yay!!! Back eventing well done Meg really seems like you've had a great big confidence boost well done and enjoy getting back into the eventing season🎉🎉🎉
I just love Dee and the two of you together. She is such an intelligent mare and always seemed absolute aware that there was a competition which she wanted to WIN . But now - it is so lovely to see how much she tries to take care of you. I swear this little horse understands it all. Give yourself time and grace and I honetsly believe you will come back stronger.
You have no idea how excited I am to see you doing cross country again!!!! I am so happy to see you regaining confidence and facing your fears. It is a very difficult thing to do for everyone, but instead of letting it pull you under, you stood your ground. You are one of the most inspiring equestrians that I know of❤. Keep staring fear in the face, and telling it to back away before you pack your punch :). Thank you for everything you do for us, and keep on living the dream ✨
Meg, I had an almost fatal accident. (I'm fine now) It took me at least a year to watch a movie with a horse in it. It took me years to muck stalls, much longer to turn out (it happened on the ground.) I never once blamed the horses. The terror of any mishap is real. I did my another horse. Gave him away to a 14 year old who loves him still and I don't know if I will ever go back. The point is, having any kind of accident is terrifying. The PTSD (Sorry call it like I see it) is real. Every time you go to a show, it floods back and the terror grips you and the what ifs and will my pony be okay. Don't let anyone tell you differently. It is HARD. You are remarkable, you are fighting through it. Cut yourself some slack, don't give up and remember you are your worse enemy and your best friend. You know how to do it. Deep breathing. Let your body work on muscle memory and remember this is not Bicton. You are not the same person and you will do it. Love from Maryland.
And they're back🎉🥳. DeeDee looks awesome. Her extended trot is stunning. Congratulations Meg (& the team🤗) - not just for the fantastic result, but for overcoming your fears. It will be a journey for all of you. but what a start. You are truly inspirational Meg. A shout out too to Hobbit, Han & Pete - the love & support you give Meg is beautiful to watch🤗
Great job you two gals! 🎉🎉🎉 Dee is such a good mare! Also, your support system behind you- Hobbit, Han, and Pete… Y’all are the best for Megan and Dee! Congratulations on your second place Megan! I can’t wait to see more to come! Love from California🏔️🌲☀️💙
Hi Lovely, i havent ever posted, but ive been following you for a while. Im so proud of you for over coming your demons, its not easy. I myself had a nasty fall when i was 13 and did a lot of damage to myself, this in turn, i never got over the accident, i still rode for another 10 years, but gave up! i couldnt get past my demons. Keep going! You are amazing and i love watching you and your horses. xx
Fantasticly well done, Meg and DeeDee! Must have been such a confidence boost for you. A good trick to get out of your head during a wobbly moment is to talk out loud about what around you. "Oh, that's red. That's blue. Hmm I have a great jumper in those colours" It can re-direct your brain so you can refocus. 👏 very good result
Love your channel. Also love the way Han and your Mum together, before, during and after an event. They seem to work without talking? Doing what's required for your pony and you. True.?
oh where to start.... saw a quick clip of your dressage warm up - thought wow look at that lift in the trot! Loved Dees excitement, so lovely to see her so keen. Dressage done tick, well done. I hoped with all my mite that the show jumping would go well and that you would keep the enjoyment and confidence you found with Lucinda. I wanted her in your ear. I was doing it with you both lol, I was so proud of you, Dee was a superstar she tried so hard to say, we have got this mum. I kept saying, give Meg - give Meg. Well done, i was so pleased that you did it. Cross country, some wobbles with confidence, some great bits - its done first one under your belt, onwards and upwards you will be a great team once again this season. When i first started to watch your vlogs you seemed to always go clear, you just need to believe again. You have the skills and the horses, you just need the confidence and believe in yourself. Love watching you all, your love for your horses shines through. Is Pete ok? H e looked knackered bless him. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
This was so beautiful and courageous Meg and Dee💖💖🐎👣!!! You two are an inspiration. Epic partners, warriorprincesses💕. Dee was shouting: look at my mum, here we are again, I'm so proud of my mum, she's the bestest and I'm gonna take care of her!! 😍
Well done Meg! You both looked super and I really felt for you having the wobbly moment. It’s the worst feeling and you rode that round so beautifully. So happy for you ❤️, what a great start to the year! I’m having a proper sticky start and you have given me some motivation to get my arse in to gear 😂 thank you! Xx
You got back in. Brilliant. Now you'll work through riding through your thoughts instead of dwelling and you'll grow. You've grown so much and it shows with every fence through this video that you're so deep in your head, trying so hard to get out of your own way but my dear lady you did it and you'll get better and better. The fact is you will likely fall again, but you do all you can to prevent that and all you can to keep yourself and your horses safe but no rider alive rides free of falls and you've done so much to be sure you can stay safe through them when they happen and now you're developing the greatest part of a great rider and trainer. Your ability to cope, to move on and to grow. Bravo brave lady. Courage is not the absence of fear and doubt, it is forging forward in spite of them.
I think, you couldn't ask for a better pony to Sheppard you through your confidence bobble and anxiety❤. Horses(and ponies) like this mare are 100% priceless. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Wonderful job Meg and DeeDee. My favorite cross-country round with Dee Dee was Bicton actually. She ate that sloppy course up. Chin up, shoulders back and hip joints open Meg, be proud of yourself and the ponies!
SO well done. You should feel very proud of you both. Excellent courage and tenacity, despite how you felt. We've all been there and it's very inspirational to watch you go through the process. Thanks so much and well done again. :)
Super outing!! You are working your way through the jitters. The great thing is that you know exactly what to do and the mare is so clever. You will start enjoying it all again soon I am sure. You are braver than you think and you are doing everything just right.
Omg!!!!! Massive congratulations Meg and Dee Dee, she is Badminton ready already bless her, she does look after her mummy!! Her calling was hilarious and so cute!! Onwards and upwards now I have the first one out of the way, and u know u can do it and do it well!! So proud of u!! Oh also her extended trot in yr warm up looked amazing!! Xxx
I wanted to say that I'm really proud of you Meg! I had a really bad fall on a hack and was badly injured. The amount of fear I feel just from trotting is just, I don't know. I'm trying so hard to face me fears and get back to where I was, I know it's not easy, but I'm proud of you!
Well well done Meg!!!! ( Dee as well🦄) I love that you stuck with your plan to focus on where and what you needed to keep your mind as clear and positive as you could and debrief and chat with the rest of us after - that alone is massive!!! Again so well Done Meg be so proud of what you accomplished on this day !!! Cheers 💪🏻🦄🐴❤
Meg!! I am so proud of you, you did great!! Kudos to your incredibly supportive team (Hobs, Han and Pete you are the best)!! And Dee, thank you for taking care of Meg and helping her with her confidence! What are great day!
Well done Meg! I know it can be hard to see and feel progress when you are the one riding and seeing your ponies everyday, but EVERY video recently I have been so impressed with the progress in your ponies. They both look looser and you are riding incredibly! You inspire me for what I can look forward to in a few years with my personal horse. Thank you!
Confidence will come back with time and you're taking all the right steps to regain it. Dee is such a credit to you, she moves beautifully and my god is she looking amazing fitness wise! A huge well done on the first event back🤍
Bless you i can absolutely feel your pain! I find the warmup one of the hardest places since my confidence knock! I overthink “getting a stride” where as when I’m in the ring I focus on the course rhythm and the fences just come a lot easier!! Huge well done to you!! Xxx
Well done!! Also I have to say that seeing you working through your nerves is massively helpful to me because I am also struggling after a confidence crash, and just knowing I am not the only one is deeply reassuring. Thank you, as ever, for sharing both the good and the bad. And HUGE CONGRATULATIONS. 🎉❤
Proud of you Meg, you pushed through those negative thoughts and you should be proud of yourself too. Now you’ve done you 1st event things will be easier xx
I see DD when you have been having you moments of doubt , but since Bicton, she looks like she has been set to look after you, so lovely to see. Also that trot I'm the dressage warm up ❤. As someone who suffers from panic attacks, I know how frustrating they can be. Your smashing it and I'm sure helping so many people in similar situations. Xx
Well done!! This was always going to be hard and you know what the next will all be hard but over time it will get better. Remember your mantra to repeat in your head, you can do this!!!!
Megan u should be really proud of yourself for getting back out eventing and getting through all of it even if u did have 1 or 2 breakdowns. You did really well and Dee was so good. 2nd place for your first time out eventing since the fall is so good I’m so proud of you both x
So proud of you Meg, you don't know how much!! After losing confidence to go back out there and face those demons, it is always hard the first few times. But you've proven to yourself now that you can CONQUER THEM, and conquer them with a lot of PRIDE Meg!! Because I know how hard it is to do!! But you did it!! So, so very chuffed for you!! Very well done. I agree with your choice to change your attitude and focus on positive self-talk. Also, smart move just getting into the arena and starting your course, rather than rule yourself over some warm-ups. All positives, Meg! It up, up, up from here 🎉
Well done Meg & DD! I think I rode every stride of that with you with my heart in my mouth! I cried when you cried! Man, who knew there could be so many emotions in one eventing vlog xxxx love your support crew, always on top form ❤️ 2nd place is amazing xxxxxx
Fabulous work from both you and Dee, this was the confidence boost you needed. You have a pony that will get over whatever jump you point her at, you saw how well she did with Ellie. You know that you can jump after riding Lucinda's horse you just need to have the confidence to put the two together. Hopefully after coming 2nd in this competition you will go forward and get back to your usual self.
Well done Meggy! You have done so well even though you had a little hick up but you never fail to put a smi,e on my face watching your vlogs and I’m sure you do to everyone else!💗❤️❤️❤️
Wow Meg, your riding has improved soooo much since you have spent more time with Lucinda. You were very good before but I can really see the difference now xx very well done xx
Meg were all so proud of you❤❤❤ well done for facing your fears you're incredible ❤ I recently had a very tasty fall out jumping at home from my 18,1 hh 5 year old homebred and I've also had quite the knock of confidence and ended up withdrawing from a event I was really looking forward to. You're such an inspiration Meggy
One of the biggest differences I've seen in the recent jumping vids is Meg riding with longer reins. Looks lovely and lets Dee work better underneath her. Good luck for the rest of the Badminton prep!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! Very happy for you!!! Fantastic square halt at the end of the Dressage test! Perhaps when you get anxious imagine you are chasing Lucinda or Ellie on Marley.
Shut the back door !!!!! I said 28 !!!! So well done !!! I lost my confidence in triathlon in 2018 and still haven't got it back so bloody well done !!! Very very inspiring ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
GREAT JOB MEG!!!! I’m so proud of you. This is the way to concur your fears. Get out of your head , use the tools from the therapist to calm your mind and just jump in. So well done. Congratulations on your amazing 2nd placing.
Hi Han!! Missed you! I loved the look on Dee's face while you were tacking up for cross country. She's like, "can we just get on with this?? I'm ready!"
You need to get her a treat cake, like Harlow and Popcorn there doing great for being out showing. Dee Dee is a great horse. I'm so glad you did it. Awesome grooms.🥰🐴🐎🍰🎂🎉
You are a champion too, you know!!! Facing whar you did is really tough and you did it fantastic! ❤❤ Love how pleased with herself D D is looking in the end!!! Love all your ponies but she's been my favorit all the time!!! ❤❤ Nice start to the season!!! Congratulations!!!
Well done!! 🎉🎉🎉 You trained a very fine pony in Dee, and you should be so proud her and especially yourself for getting through that so well ❤️ Can't wait for the next event
Congratulations Meg it made me tear up a little after you finished the cross country I’m so happy for you and I know you’ll just get better and better ❤love you Meg ❤

A wise horsewoman once told me- you must have a strong leg, and a short memory. You did wonderful ❤
Love this, Dee dee is very excited and vocal bless her. And she's a cracking pony :) well done Meg as well.
Amazingly honest, genuine, and workmanlike pony. She has no doubts & will heal your confidence. Lovely to see your relief and joy.

Your leg is looking so much stronger and super solid! Cudos to you for all your progress!

As someone who suffers from panic attacks, I know how frustrating they can be. Your smashing it and I'm sure helping so many people in similar situations. Xx
We are all so proud of u Meg! Great job!! Even though you seemed stressed you went fabulously!! You’re an inspiration to us all!! ❤❤
