2:00 “When food is finite you’d be surprised how much time you spend thinking about it.” To anyone who has ever experienced poverty to the point of not knowing when, where, or how you will get your next meal, this line is too real. If this describes you now I hope you find something that inspires faith that things will get better. Sending you positive vibes.
Sandra did a great job portraying Leigh Anne Tuohy. A woman that always wants to be in control. Sandra put Leigh Anne in her place, though, a couple of times during the filming of the movie..
@@ghostsofVTurbexSkysthelimitvid When Leigh Anne told Sandra to get a life Sandra responded with "Since I'll be portraying your life for 3 months, you need to be careful with your comments." IMHO, Sandra was the best woman to portray Leigh Anne Tuohy.
I am glad teachers are portrayed in a better light in these clips. Public schools are looking like a challenge at the moment, and thats putting it nicely.
This movie aged horribly. I cannot believe I used to love it. They not only portrayed Oher as borderline brainless, but had the nerve to pretend that he didn’t know anything about football until he met them. That the family lied to him about the adoption is icing on the cake.
@Chris, I am never here to argue with anyone because we all have our own opinion, but they didn't make him seem dumb, don't forget, he was very shy and felt out of place in a primarily white school and most, financially secure, and from what I know today, he still considers them mom, dad and brother and sister. I remember seeing a picture of them all with one of his children as a baby, so I don't think the real Michael has any resentment towards his adopted family. They truly love him like their own. It had nothing to do with him being the star athlete of the family, hell, Shawn himself is a star in my opinion. The man amassed a chain of Taco Bell stores. They were in a financial position from the start, to take this young man in and care for him the way I feel a child should be taken care of. Being able to help them achieve the things they want. How many people can buy their son a brand new, fully loaded pick up like that, just for getting their drivers license? My dad, always gave us everything he could. Sometimes, it might not have been the top of the line brand name item, but when we wanted a brand name item, he always got it. As I got older, I realized that he did the same thing for us as I now do for my niece, whom I had since she was five, now, sixteen and also my beloved pets, work extra hours or many weekends to make it happen. Take care my friend and please, give me your opinion, if there is something I don't know, that you heard or know, appreciate it.
The movie portrayed him exactly as his teachers, coaches, and school administrators described him to Blind Side author Michael Lewis when he interviewed them for book back in 2005. So what did they do.... all get together beforehand and agree to LIE to Michael Lewis? Face it... the only one making up stories about the way he really was back in high school is Michael Oher.
My favorite of all time. The teacher's attitude and love for teaching and seeing children reach their potential was the most impactful for me. Yes the family helped but the teacher gave Michael the opportunity to express himself in a safe space.
If you found this movie to be offensive, then you found their real-life story offensive. It's not fiction, it was *their story. It's not about stereotypes, it's about love.
@@cacatr4495 That's not what the young man says, who's story it is. The post release interviews were enlightening. There was also a bit of a scandal as it seems there were similar "adoptions" of black high school athletes who were then sent to adoptive parents'alma maters to play ball. I wonder if there would have been a story if the teen had been average size: not football or basketball material...just a kid. Mainstream America rarely does anything altruistically. There needs to be a payoff. I love it when people say helping others makes you feel good about yourself...which lies at the base of American philanthropy. Here, the family looks good, the school got a football player and the young man got an education he was able to make use of, which is not always the case for athletes.... especially if they get injured.
@@ellenchavez2043 Your claim, in your first paragraph, is not what I've heard Oher say of their adoptive family. I suggest that you listen to Michael's own words in short videos I have saved to my movie playlist. Your second paragraph was covered in the movie, and doesn't pertain to Oher's story, per Michael's own words. There are always people who find fault with goodness, who mischaracterize it as being something else, particularly trolls and narcissists.
The kindness of this family...it goes deep in my heart and made me cry 😢 ❤❤❤❤❤my favorite movie of all time.
You know they lied to him about adopting him and he‘s suing them, right?
This movie is heart breaking
… as well as hopeful and encouraging😌
Heart opening 💔
Can You tell me where to watch this? Please

I found this movie as offensive as "Driving Miss Daisy" in terms of stereotypes: spunky white lady saves the day for poor, black child.
