It’s a miracle Joe’s vocal chords held up as long as they did. His technique was REALLY bad in terms of vocal health. There’s a reason no one else does vocals like this. After learning about technique and doing it healthily, it physically hurts to listen to this era of Joe’s vocals 😂 Even though they sound incredible
Do you think that his technique in songs like gift of guilt, l'enfant sauvage is healty? I was quite impressed by the video of joe in studio singing gift of guilt, but I think his technique was still unhealthy.
@@atabaycetin It was definitely healthier, but no he’s still literally screaming at full volume. Like if you’ve seen that acapella recording of him doing the blast beat end part of L’Enfaunt- Doing that regularly will blow your voice out. Sounds better than healthy screams though

He sounds so much more healthy nowadays, but I suppose it was a must rather than a choice. I guess he decided to sacrifice his vocal capacity to express his emotions in their songs.
It took me a long time to appreciate the séance at the end of Blow Me Away at 44:55. I used to always skip this because it is repetitive but now I finally get it. Trance inducing.
I remember I was always a fan of Gojira’s longer songs when I first got into them. First time I watched this I could believe they did a 10 minute version of Blow Me Away 🤘

Hello from New England Gojira is one of those bands that actually sound better live I've seen them 11 times between 2006-2024 and they have always had amazing sound systems and front of house soundmen And after the FMTS album they started incorporating more complex and trippy light shows and visuals On September 21 I'm seeing the mighty Gojira for the 12th time in Massachusetts with Korn headlining I'm also a huge Korn fan but I won't get started lol 😎✌️🧐🤘
I would trade a few years of my life to have lived this show at the time. Seriously, what a relic. My respect to those who lived that moment. Long live to the best band in the world 🖤

One of the few bands where the live recordings genuinely sound as good or better than the studio tracks.
The Link, From Mars To Sirius and The Way Of All Flesh are my absolute favorite of their releases, but they have made some real bangers here and there on the later albums. They're always incredible live. Have seen them 4-5 times, the last time being a festival gig earlier this year. They absolutely bring it live each time.

I have a tattoo of “The Link Alive”, I have the DVD which I had signed, saw them live when they toured with Metallica in Tampa 2009 as a kid, and have seen a dozen shows and met them VIP 4 times now. So I guess you could say I am indeed a fan🤘🤘

Crazy that they let spectators just jump on stage like that. And they didn't cause any difficulties. True spirit in this live performance.
