I remember how it was like when I played KH for the first time. Your home is destroyed, your friends are gone, and you're forced to fight this giant shadow creature who destroyed your home. Ah, good ol' Kingdom Hearts.
While the fetch quest of getting the supplies was admittedly a little tedious, the Heartless raid on Destiny Island I thought was handled brilliantly. You see this sunny place turn into a nightmarish landscape with dark creatures Sora saw in his dream attacking him from everywhere. After that, his island got destroyed and this was what propelled Sora onto his hero’s journey to find his friends. The equivalent to Luke Skywalker witnessing his dead aunt and uncle in A New Hope. It was a big moment for him and caused him to go on his hero’s journey.
For an intense boss fight theme, it sure does play early in the game. It really shifted the tone of what you thought how innocent the game was going to be. You were innocent teens having a party on a beach then some dark demons come out and wash away your home world. Hopefully you weren’t too young when you started playing this and got nightmares or confused dreams, sadly no dream warriors existed until 2012 😂
Imagine KH4's reveal trailer is a callback to this boss fight by having a remix of this theme, but in the perspective of Yazora in his own Dive into the Heart.
Phantom to this day the only heartless that's not out for your heart hes out for your soul seriously he's the only boss in the game who doesn't render you and your team unconscious he straight up kills you by stealing your soul
I prefer the original, but I get why they chose 1.5 it's because it's more dynamic instead of sounding a horror theme boss fight, especially the way they amplify the piano.

@@ZaaltheDragon well there is a difference. KH final mix was exclusive go Japan in the PS2 era so the soundtrack was the same. It wasnt until the HD remasters where KH1 and 2 got their music reorchestrated

To this day fighting that Phantom over the streets of Peter Pan's London will remain one of the coolest boss fights I've ever played through.
Yeah. I personally very much enjoy the more magic focused aspect to its fight, mainly because I like using Magic in general.
It was tedious in my opinion, but the location was epic and I liked it for that.

i honestly think that better it never come in KH3, this song fits KH1 nicely and i don't think it would have worked in KH3

The returning Darkside. I find it sad that only in KH1 you can climb onto the darkside's arms and shoulders so you can directly smack its head.
