Just wanted to clarify on the last minute of this video: all of the major US airlines (UA, AA, DL, AS) all offer complimentary upgrades to all levels of their elites. That is not specific to Delta. And no instruments are necessary to clear them. I know you guys are Delta fans, but saying that Delta is the only one that upgrades low-level elites without a cert is inaccurate. Love that JFK Centurion Lounge! ✌️✅
Just thought I'd point out that irrespective of what terminal your flight takes off from at JFK, you can use your boarding pass to clear TSA security at the terminal which has the lounge you want. Depending on whether the terminal is connected air-side to the terminal of your departure gate you may need to re-clear security though.

Not sure if you would be able to bring a large bag that would normally be checked past security. You could maybe let it sit (they usually pull it off) and then go in using your upcoming boarding pass to get in. Usually 3 hours but if you explain that it's effectively a connection, they might let you in.

(I've let my bag float at T4 to go to the Delta Sky Club; it's kinda gated off so less fear of theft - someone else from your flight / another flight would have to steal your bag since the area isn't accessible to non-flyers)

My question is, I am an AMEX Platinum Card holder but my girlfriend is not and I book 2 tickets for a flight in an airport that has a AMEX lounge with my AMEX Platinum. Can both of us get into the lounges due to buying 2 tickets or am I the only one that can get in because I am the card holder?
No, he was just pointing out that silver elites on Delta get space-available complimentary upgrades just like the rest of the majors. This is not a dependable stat. It’s based on load factor and clearance of all other elites on the upgrade board. Not an exclusive perk to Delta.
My hometown Centurion Lounge. Been a frequent visitor and it makes my Amex Platinum a keeper.

Upgrades automatically happen if you have airline status and there's available room. If you don't have status, you'll never get upgraded (for free).

You have to get through TSA twice and ride the train between lounges. Well more than 10-15 minutes.
