I just used one of these for the first time. The one thing that would make me 100% committed to using it again would be something to keep it above the trub, just so one doesn't have to stand there holding it. As a minor note, my silicone tube was quite kinked when I unpacked it, and which made it difficult to get the siphon going at first (I ended up using some of my own tubing). It'd be great if there was a kink-free way to pack that tube.
I see all the questions about O2 introduction and disturbing the yeast bed and there is a rather obvious solution I'm surprised no-one has mentioned. Pre-charge the siphon with water, kink the hose to hold the liquid in place, and then pop the siphon into the solute to be drained. Release the hose and let the water go into a bucket starting the suctioning and then move the hose over to the other vessel you're transferring to. I'd practice it a few times to make sure all was working ok using just water
The poly autosyphon has a crappy seal and I can't find just a replacement seal. Instead need to buy an entire new syphon (planned obsolescence?). These look great!
Yes would have to agree. The seals and the whole auto-siphon design is way more complicated than it needs to be. We have been wanting to make a new siphon for a while and we only just got round to it. Hopefully you can give this a go and see if it works for you.
I've just bought one and will be using it for the first time tomorrow. Does anyone have any tricks to keep the siphon entrance off the yeast cake? i.e handsfree tricks to hold it in the right spot in the fermenter.
Looks like a hybrid of a Shake Weight and my BrewSSSiphon. I love it (the BrewSSSiphon; no shake weights here), so I’d expect this one to perform similarly. It’s great to finally see multiple companies offering stainless steel siphons instead of cheap plastic ones. Great work!
My jiggler did not work no matter how fast or slow I jiggled - I sound the problem with the spring (a little short) - so I streched it a little (not much!) and bingo it works fine now
I bought one of these but it didn't come with silicone rubber tubing, it came with some type of poly tube. Also, the jingling action tends to disrupt a lot of the sediment on the bottom of the container.
This was designed to take liquids up to 100C(boiling water). With that said looking at the specifications of the seals and silicone tube it actually should be able to go up beyond 230C with no problem at all but we just have not tried this ourselves and to be honest probably have no reason to try this unless you wanted to transfer hot deep fryer oil or something strange like that.
Just tried this siphon for the first time...had a couple of polycarbonate ones previously but I can't understand why I didn't buy this one in the first place...works perfectly, really well made, easy to to clean... Really a great product!!
I just bought one of these. The tip you have is different than the tip I have. Why is it different? Mine did not work at all. It was expensive too. I wanted it to work so bad. I wish it had worked.
Wouldn't this just mix up the yeast sediment with the drink you're siphoning? Seems kinda useless, apart from the fact that its made from stainless steel.
I just buy, it’s not good. Buy one with in plastic with pump handle much better! This one It’s hard pump up a water flow and it’s stop after you shake it :/
thats the last one he will need, but anyone buying one from kegland should be warned the quality control is low, and they dont recall out of tolerance items from wholesalers leaving them with the problem.
Hahaha.. Nice device.. I'm way to juvenile to watch this video.. Kudos on keeping a semi straight face Kee!! Lol 👍🍻

That is exactly how I do it!
@@KegLand and thats how I'll doing it tonight when I rack our keeved cider from underneath the chapeau brun
Top advice from 2:22 - 2:34 plus off camera laugh just tops it off. Haha.
😂 again funny video and a great product. Make sure to switch hands every other day...for the siphon that is.
Works great! Thanks for showing how the spring and ball are reinserted at 1:09, ha ha
Hell I'm already good at jiggling! I should get one of these!
Go for it!
Another great, well thought-through product.
Thanks for that Ali!
What size thread is on the end of it? Could a 1/2 camlock fitting be attached to it to use as a whirlpool arm while not been used for syphoning ?
The poly autosyphon has a crappy seal and I can't find just a replacement seal. Instead need to buy an entire new syphon (planned obsolescence?). These look great!

can it transfer hot liquids at 100 degrees?

BEER-N-BBQ by Larry the one you have is sick but this one is like 70 dollars cheaper and seems easier to clean and sanitize

Thanks for that feedback. We will have a look at our existing stock and see if we have the same issue and rectify this.
does the jiggling add oxidation to beer?
Also, does the jiggling disturb sediment?
If you are bottling, any oxygen introduced will be taken up during re fermentation in the bottle.
I just got it but after I jiggle it a bit a slow Drip begins but then stops. What am I doing wrong?
I bought one of these but it didn't come with silicone rubber tubing, it came with some type of poly tube. Also, the jingling action tends to disrupt a lot of the sediment on the bottom of the container.
They key is to shake in swift strokes. The tubing type should not really matter that much.
@@KegLand tried that, it doesn't work without disrupting the sediment cake on the bottom of the demijohn.
What is highest liquid temp the siphon can handle? (Wearing gloves while using.)

Does this have a sediment trap or is beer drawn from the bottom?
This unit draws from the bottom.

Can you get this stuff in the states?
I would check with www.morebeer.com as they stock our range of products so you should be able to order from them.
I try siphoning into my keg directly into the liquid post. It always slows down to a trickle. What am I doing wrong?
The constriction in the liquid post might be what is causing it to slow down. Closed transfers from a Fermzilla would be the way to go!
@@KegLand I agree but my wife has vetoed further spending at this stage.

same problem here, did you solve it D:? i think we have the same model but its hard to make it work or im doing something wrong

Juste use SS simple tube siphon and slide a long the silicone tube with a tube emptier with tape around the two roller.
Why doesn't this come with a clamp?
There is not much back pressure and the tubing forms a nice snug seal. Hence there is no need to use a clamp.
Stop making good products, my wallet can't handle it!
Ha ha,I thought exactly that. 👍

You have to shake it enough to start the siphon.
@@KegLand it’s not that easy
its the worst shit i ever bought, ruined a whole bash. stick to the old type.
