    Hey everyone, I hope you enjoyed the video! I wanted to clarify when I was talking about a them setting up a potential Peach movie, I used the term “woke”, but I meant it as in “big brain”, since as a kid that’s how it used to be used. I apologize if this has led to any confusion or thinking I was trying to bring politics into my content, which I work very hard to leave out of the series.
    Oh, and I’ll clarify I would see a Peach movie day fricking 1.

    Concerns that Peach is too emotional are severely misplaced.
    Look at the context of the game. Everyone else is completely consumed by a single emotion. Angry goombas, crying koopas, even Mario and Luigi are subject to this. Peach is literally the only being alive who is able to -control- her emotions. She's not crying because she's a woman and that's something only women do, she's crying because she understands the power inherent in the action and chooses to do so. People choosing to be offended by that are not able to see what's going on in the game as a whole, and it's very frustrating.

    I understand the problem with Peach's emotions but

    There is one thing I would like to bring up which is the whole argument of peach having emotional powers being "sexist" I can kind of see why some people would find it sexist however if you actually consider the context I think it's quite the opposite. Bowser is using the vibe Sceptor to manipulate everyone's emotions and peach is the only character still in control of them. It's painted as a strength of her character rather then a weakness. She has more control over her emotions then mario and luigi.

    when i was younger me and my friends never thought of it as controversial, we just thought it was pretty cool that there was a game where peach was the main character. i specifically remember us using cheats with our r4 cards to have infinite magic so we could fly whenever we wanted, i also remember this one level i could never get past in the last world where you had to run away from a lava curtain.

    Super princess peach probably has one of my favorite openings to any Mario game. Most Mario openings are super fast. There’s like a 30 second cut scene and then you’re off but this game takes a bit more of it’s time. Reminds me of galaxy 1s opening in that way. It’s kind of cool to actually see bowser planing his attack before hand and to see things from the enemies point of view

    Ppl raging about a woman for expressing controlled emotions in a positive way and calling it hysteria are actually the sexists ones. It’s actually everyone else that was hysterical, the ones being negatively affected.

    As a woman, I loved _Super Princess Peach_ and never understood why Peach using her emotions to attack was sexist. I'm an emotional trainwreck who cries over the slightest things, has a hot temper, and gets super giddy when I'm excited. As an adult, I realize this is due to a range of factors like my autism and my lifelong struggle with anxiety, but the fact that women aren't taught to suppress their emotions like men are also played a factor. As such, I never had a problem with the "Hysterical Woman" stereotype, because I _am_ that stereotype. I'm a woman, and I'm a crybaby. I know that I'm a sample size of one, but I'm sure there are other women who are very emotional and will excuse it as "oh, that's just how women are" due to how they were socialized. And as a kid playing _Super Princess Peach,_ seeing Peach use her emotions to fight bad guys was kind of empowering. It showed that perhaps _my_ extreme emotions aren't something to be ashamed of like my parents often said ("You're acting like a 2-year-old!" "You're crying over nothing!" "You're embarrassing yourself!"), but can actually be beneficial. I thought maybe _my_ emotions could be used to take down bad guys, too.
    Not everything is black and white. What may be a sexist stereotype to one person may also be a reminder that emotional expression is not a bad thing to another.

      @docbaker3333 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Honestly personally I don't think it was even meant to be sexist I just thing that developers thought that using emotions as a gameplay mechanic would be fun and from my experience it worked.

      ya I think that the devs just thought that the emotion thing would be cool but that doesn’t fix the end of the game

      I can see why the game would be controversial, but you brought up something *fascinating* to me, and it reminds me of my own beliefs about the character.
      Y'ever notice how traditional femininity is kinda looked down upon in society? Girls often don't like pink, *definitely* don't like dresses, and are annoyed by Peach in general.
      But I'm not. She's my favorite. I know she's kind of stereotypical, but I like her a lot. She's a character that, to me, represents a hidden toughness under shameless femininity. She likes pink. She likes baking. She's sweet in personality. And for someone who also likes pink and baking and being sweet, I wish we had more of it. Because in an attempt to break the stereotypical woman mold, I believe there's been a new one in place for a while now --one that further embraces the idea of being a little soft as being cringeworthy and weak.
      and, if nothing else, at least the newer movie portrays Peach's balance of gentleness and combativeness. :]

    • @TheMbmdcrew
      @TheMbmdcrew 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Lunar_willoww Yeah, I've noticed that too! When I was in college, on many occasions, I was the only girl who was wearing a dress out of any of my female classmates. I'm also a traditionally feminine woman who loves pink and baking and dresses, and I often feel like girls today are societally pressured _not_ to act that way. I certainly felt that way growing up- feeling like I shouldn't be wearing dresses and should be wearing more neutral colors instead of pink. But know, I'm embracing my true self and being as girly as I can!
      And I love Princess Peach because she's unabashedly feminine, but she's still strong, capable, athletic, and keeps a positive outlook in spite of all that has happened to her.

    Note on the Thwomp section: You don't have to match UP with the statue. You only have to mimic the pose of a statue, anywhere you want. You aren't hiding behind states, you are convincing the Thwomp that you are another statue.

    The Koopalings were going to be in this game but were cut.
    The would've been fighting order of the Koopalings:
    Petey Piranha = Iggy
    Hoo = Morton
    King Boo = Lemmy
    Wiggler = Ludwig
    Gooper Blooper = Roy
    Blizzaurus = Wendy
    Giant Kamek = Larry

    I think all the people who dislike this game probably just exaggerate a lot about it. Yes, Peach's abilities in this game are rather simple, and "stereotypical", but... that's because it's a Mario game it's supposed to be just cute and fun. Don't look too deep into it.
    Anyway I think this game is decent, the graphics are nice, the controls are good, the level design us decent, and I like how it uses the slide ability. Some of the music is quite nice as well.
    Fuck the Final Boss though they never told you that toads were all that important to collect, to be able to play the final boss level. And because of that, I did not beat this game I ain't going back just to find toads.

    The art style feels very reminiscent of the Mario & Luigi games, and some sprites in this video honestly looked pretty much directly copied from those games. But that’s not a bad thing, because the art style of the Mario & Luigi games is heavenly

    Like I said when I first watched your videos: You have 1 million subscriber quality content. Keep up the grind. Personally, I don't think that it's "sexist" women often express their emotions then men do. I grew up with a single mom and so I can be more emotional than a lot of women but it's like that social psychology study that men are more agro and women are more emotional. And you got Peach attacking physically and being emotional the whole game taking a "man" and "woman" role.
    I will say the "Vibe Sceptor" or (Vibrator for you know what) makes this game really weird and idk how they got away with this lmao. Also having to 100% a game before the credits screen and final boss is very lame. 100% playthroughs should always be an option not forced on the player so it feels rewarding when you beat the game but brings more euphoria when you actually 100% it and beat it, it almost makes you feel no more powerful than anyone else who beat the game because everyone 100%'d the game who beat it.
