Capitalizing on the popularity of off-road ready rigs, GMC has debuted the Canyon AT4. A more potent version of its mid-sized truck. But is it all just curb appeal or is there some actual heavy-duty hardware at play here? Today we're going to find out.

A good truck. I test drove the Tacoma but noticed it's a mid-sized truck for smallish people. I'm 6'4" but didn't want a full sized pickup. Started looking at the Canyons and got an Elevation package. Love it. Plenty more interior room like headspace and seating than the Tacoma had. Plus the Canyon had more horsepower and bigger tow capacity. Better interior than the Tacoma. I'm not a fanboy of either brand but the Canyon is a very worthy truck if you're looking at midsize.

You said you don’t get driver alerts like lane departure, etc… but I have them in my Canyon. You said no heated seats; but I have them in my Canyon … and heated steering wheel. Wants in the Canyon? Better inside door storage, some plastic trim creaks, power rear sliding window, push button start, and push button unlock like I had in my Terrain.

The main reason I chose not to purchase this or the Colorado was the lack of push to start and remote start options.

Why do you want more electronics? Screw that

Great review! Would have liked to see it in a more 4 wheel drive situation. I have a 2000 ford ranger with a 4 cycl. with 200k miles, two wheel drive and it could take that trail no problem, so showing the GMC doing it in 4 wheel drive(I'm guessing) is laughable. Who designed that interior? Too small cup holders and too small phone holder for modern phones. SMH. Not worth $47,000.00 especially since General Motors has now made a 3 year subscription to Onstar mandatory which increases the price by another $1,500.00.

The Colorado looks better all the way around. It's more rugged and aggressive imo.

As soon as he mentioned the key and the smallness of everything, I'd seen enough. For a GMC and that kind of money, I expect more.

Charging pad useless? Bro it was charging your phone if you look closer! Maybe you should do a little research on resell value, as biased as you seem to be. You will find GMCs hold value better then most vehicles and yes even your luxurious Hyundai.

I take a Taco over this junk any day. GM will screw you. Direct injection engines cause problem with carbon buildup after 50,000 miles. 8 speed transmission is problematic. Interior is cheap. Get a Taco for a premium experience.
