    Austin, thank you for sharing another layout tour. I really enjoy seeing what others have accumulated and built.

    Fabulous collection. It's all great, new and old. Tired of Polar Express and Amtrak tho. The early Lionel American Flyer NYC Passenger set and Heavyweight steam passenger sets look gorgeous and are my favorites. Keep those great videos of those classics coming Austin. Many of those were produced much longer and in greater numbers than even A.C. Gilbert made them.

    I have enjoyed your videos over the years. Your knowledge and creativity with old AF trains is fun to watch and learn from. The masonite buildings are Minicraft, not Mastercraft (those are care parts, I think?). They are very, very fun to collect and the ones with hand-lettered sign boards are especially cool. I have one of those that isn't found in the Flyer catalogues.

      Thankyou Dr. Yes... unfortunately I only caught my verbal mistake after the video had been live for awhile...too bad since during editing I heard myself say it wrong over and over...and it did not register.

    I've never seen a sit 332. What a treat. In fact a very impressive collection 😁👍👍👍!!

      That's a 1947 332. Only a handful of '46 Northerns were made. The tender is simply lettered, "UNION PACIFIC."

      @@AustinsAmericanFlyertrains No sir, just a subscriber and fan of your channel near Wimberley, Texas. I have a decent collection of AF S gauge stuff. I am planning a large layout to set up in my second story hobby room. Always appreciate your videos. -Tim

      @@timothyyoch8941 awesome! The reason I asked is I was just there again this past weekend and saw the layout as well as some other neat things as I spent the day with a s gauge group. I thought maybe you were part of the field trip! 😃

      @@AustinsAmericanFlyertrains Ahh, I see. I appreciate your content. I recently watched your short vid on the “curved rerailer”. Being a subscriber and fan of Daves as well, I was pleased with the thoughtful way you handled that and hope all involved are satisfied and moving forward. Best Regards from a Fellow Flyer Fan!

    Great collection, how can he keep all that clean. My place collects so much dust I can't have more than two or three pieces out of boxes for more than a few days or you will have your fingers full of dust when you touch the items!

  • @michaelgmoore5708
    @michaelgmoore5708 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, Mini- Craft was the building maker for Gilbert. Never colleçted any of them. No room left at all for any more accessories than I hàve in original boxes! That 21145 O-8-0 has a plastic tender but that was the engine that pulled 60 cars at the façtory! I know a few other things Gilbert did that most collectors do not know.

  • @michaelgmoore5708

    Amazing but how does keep dust and dirt and stay out?

  • @michaelkunkel6264
    @michaelkunkel6264 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    And Mini-Craft made two versions of a number of the buildings with various differences for what they built for Gilbert versus what they sold under the mini Craft name. They were good looking structures with a bit of that semi scale whimsical look. Portlines carries a good selection of repo parts.

    Hi Austin. At the beginning of the video, just over your left shoulder is a streamliner in dark green with a light green stripe. I assume this is a custom paint scheme, just wondering what you know about it.

    • @AustinsAmericanFlyertrains
      @AustinsAmericanFlyertrains  ปีที่แล้ว

      It was originally a #356 chrome engine. The person who formerly owned it painted this and many other engines in this color scheme. The paint job is very well done...however this person was not a mechanic so I have found some things that have needed some attention... video in the future.

    Great video Austin.
    I believe all the buildings were made by Mini-Craft for American Flyer, not Master-Craft
