Never forget the day my mom got me the Simpsons game on Xbox 360 from Toys R Us when I was a kid. Had a lot of Childhood memories playing it on the 360, gone but never forgotten R.I.P. Mom 1967-2018
It's a completely different game and honestly I enjoyed it more than the ps3 version I had. Not to mention a fun multiplayer version that only one of your friends needed to own just to play

I really wish they made more quality niche games nowadays, the amount of effort they used to put into games like this would be unbelievable, the best they'd give us is a mobile port as of how trends are today
Also, PS2 version looks better on actual hardware too, as on CRT TV's the scanlines are like a bloom effect that hide those pixels and makes the game look smoother and with a bit different color palette
Fairly speaking this hub-world Springfield was kind of poorly made and too boring to explore (unlike the Simpsons Hit&Run's counterpart for ex.) and has its value only for 100% completionists, so if you arent one of them, you havent lost much. it seems to me that this hub location was made only to highlight next gen's superiority(x360 and ps3) in terms of game content
I played it on PS2 and now I play it on PS3 again. I remember how sad I was, because I couldn’t explore Springfield, but I explored it now and it looks stunning.

All in all, if you’re gonna play The Simpsons Game, please choose the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 version for the definitive experience. Choose the Wii, PS2, or PSP version for nostalgia of those systems. Choose the DS version for an entirely different game
I have beaten the game at like 9 or 10 years old on the 360 but I also struggled at the mall, the walking donut figure and the end boss. But now it's much easier when you know what you have to do.
I have the ps2 version, and watching this video, I realize that the most complete and superior version is that of the ps3, I feel that the ps2 version (due to the capacity of the console, I imagine) they removed too much content, like the powers, costumes and also the power to explore Springfield, and I honestly do not like that the other versions lose so much content and to have more hours of fun with this game.
I always thought that a 3ds had the potential and they could take advantage of it for psp-type games but in the end they ended up making simple games in 2d-type DS
With the RPCS3 60 fps patch and 1080p functionality, the PS3 version is now the definitive version of The Simpsons Game as of this year. All of the other versions can be considered inferior ports with superficial features, apart from the DS version which has more than a modest amount of completely original content exclusive to the DS.
In the Wii,PSP,and PS2 Version they don't have a Openworld Map of Springfield In the PS3 and Xbox 360 They do have Openworld Map of Springfield DS Version well an Level Select Screen and Pet Homer sitting on his Chair
You can emulate the DS, PSP, PS2, and Wii versions of the game on the Series X/Series S. But I still wish the Xbox 360 version was backwards compatible.

if you show the ps3 and xbox 360 version captures in diferent camera angles or locations it is more dificult to spot witch one is the best in both versions.
Underrated game for sure; whenever people get nostalgic about Simpsons games they almost exclusively talk about Hit & Run (which tbf is still the GOAT) More love for Road Rage and The Simpsons Game
The only complaint I have is that you are not respecting the aspect ratio of the PS2. It's a 4:3 game that you stretched, making it "uglier" than it should be... But then again, who am I to complain! Great work! Thanks for the Video!
Man, I liked this game, I was playing it on PSP. This game is one of things where my imagination made it look better than it was, but I still love the time I spend with it
PS3 and Xbox are probably the most good looking compared to the rest (Wii Version is the same as the PS3 and a Xbox versions) The only good thing about the older versions of the game like the PSP and the PS2 were that the levels had a few additions etc. it was a little harder which I liked.
The Nintendo DS and Xbox 360 versions were so great, I played the crap out of both of them back in the day. The PS2 version was good as well but after playing the Xbox 360 version I couldn’t go back. The PSP version had a frustrating bug where Homer would fall through the floor as the ball and completely soft lock the game if you didn’t switch characters right so I didn’t have the best of times on that version.
1) What about the Wii version? Its basically a slightly better looking version of the PS2 version. 2) I keep forgetting that despite the year that this game came out, it WASN'T a tie in to "The Simpsons Movie".
The Xbox 360 version sometimes (I don't know why) has FPS drops of up to 55-58 fps, probably due to poor optimization, but the PS3 version doesn't have a single FPS drop, and the They have the same graphic quality, and I say this because I have seen videos and I checked it myself
Because people was more familiar with Nintendo Handhelds. If Sony makes another handheld that have PS4 graphics, the Nintendo Switch will still sell more units.
I had the PS2 version of this game (and no that buzzing sound isn't on original hardware) I actually like the softness to the image, makes it feel more dreamlike or nastolgic since your memory might not be able to produce a clean image the PS2 could match that. (Hopefully your emulator could have a widescreen patch) It's a shame you couldn't explore springfield in the PS2 but the small contained hub areas actually helped getting you from one level to the next quickly. I haven't played the PS3 or Xbox versions but it looks like a lot of walking, (but also exploring so no probs from me, i do hope there's a way for you to travel faster)
Nintendo DS Version is probably the crappiest. Another reason why PSP is a much better Handheld Console. PSP can also do much more things than just Playing Games.
The PSP version was the first one I had and the whole time I wondered why it looked so different from what was advertised, I wondered why the world looked so different in the cutscenes and why Marge had a bigger mob. Then I got a 360 copy some years later and wondered why that version got the real game. Now I know. The Xbox version came first, then they ported it to the PSP and because of the limits they had to make some major changes. That and probably because those in charge wear incompetent and messed up and nobody cared. Also after looking at this comparison I just realised how blurry the PSP port is and how the graphics are. It looks as tho it hasn't been fully rendered. They never should have made that port if this was the best they could do.

fun fact, the ps2 version actually has a hidden widescreen mode. you can activate it in the ps2's system settings if you set the system to 16:9
