The DS version is an interesting beast. It feels like a prototype for the titan mechanic and has more classic Crash elements for some reason. And it's fun, I was genuinely impressed when I played it for the first time.
@@iorreneft yeah i know but i cant remember any lol :D but if u think about 3d games without voice acting then i know some but idk fully 3d games with voice acting on ds
The DS Version is my favorite, because in addition to being very beautiful for a DS game, it makes a perfect blend of the gameplay and elements of the old games with the beat up gameplay of the original game
I actually miss that time. Funnily I never had a wii or other tv consoles when I was very young. I liked the DS games I got but sometimes I envied the ones who could play the fames advertised on the dvds (licensed movie games). However nowadays I often think some of these versions are actually a golden Ticket compared to other versions. I especially reccomend the ds version of Madagascar 2 (who is very similar to this game for some reason even in terms of music) and of the first kung fu panda (which is, I kid you not, a Metroidvania - a simple one but a freakong Metroidvania)
the best of them all is the nds version. it really feels like a crash game (return of the boxes!) and the 3D engine is quite impressive. It is also used in Madagascar 2 which is pretty impressive too.
No @DamageMaximo is right. The ds version is horrible compared to the psp and up. I grew up playing it on the ps2 (one of my favourites) and I recently downloaded it for the ds and holy moly they’re completely different. The ds version is wired like the first Crash releases, but the ps2 is a whole new game, new controls and even a different story line. I highly suggest trying it on the psp, ps2, Wii or Xbox! You’ll fall in love with crash bandicoot all over again
You just unlocked a lost memory of mine. I know that i have played a Crash game on PSP but never knew what is the title, until i saw this video When i watch the intro cutscene i feel like i've seen this before. You know that feeling when you recognize something and kinda feel something familiar? That's what i felt. Turns out this is the Crash game i used to play WAY way back. Ahh might try emulate this
The DS Version has 2 Different Endings 1. Normal Ending In the Normal Ending, Nina tries to shoot Crash and turn him into a Baby, but he deflects it by using Aku Aku as a Sheild and it bounces back at Nina and turns her into a Baby, so then Crash defeats Cortex 2. 100% Ending In the 100% Ending, Nina shoots Crash and turns him into a Baby and she defeats Cortex instead
this was my favorite ps2 game when i was a child. I didnt know graphics are stunning in xbox360 version. I gotta play it through emulator or something lol
It's a soft reboot. They kept the character personality but redesigned it to have a more 2000 look. They did that because Twinsanity was a commercial failure (800k sales which is low for a Crash game)
Tbh, they ruined crash bandicoot's look. Activision brought back his iconic look which was cool Then a crash it's about time...that was cool. They both kept his design
Biggest difference is resolution between the PS2, Wii and 360. Shadows are smoother on the 360 as well but the characters have this weird shiny shader on top of them, not sure if it's a glitch or not. The PSP port, although it's in lower resolution is surprisingly decent, only missing some map details from the PS2/Wii ports. GBA port is... interesting but I guess we couldn't ask for more. While the DS port is almost an entirely new game with cool features and new playable characters missing from the home console ports. In conclusion, the 360 port is the best but that shader bug stops it from being the definitive version imo.
I guess there's no definitive version here. There is 3 different games with the same name here (gba,ds and psp) the ds version have more classic crash bandicoot things like boxes and exclusive content (if you played the xbox 360/Wii/ps2 version you maybe give this game a shot because it's different but still fun) The gba version is 2d (if you like 2d platformers or played the ps2/Wii/xbox360 version maybe you like this game) the psp version is the same as the home console versions but portable and downgraded (want to play the home console release portably? Guess this is you version so) the xbox 360 version has better graphics than the ps2/wii release so choose that one instead of these other 2 versions.
in the game boy advance it is a strange port, in the ds it is good but weak, in the psp, ps2, wii, and xbox 360 it doesn't have many changes if you consider the graphics.
GBA: It is funny to think that this was the last game for GBA in the middle of 2008, a pity that it is not a good game, it is by far one of the worst Crash games on the console. DS: Despite being completely different from the other versions it is actually quite fun, it even has some references to the original PS1 Crash, the graphics are great for the DS and it is even funny as the Mutants Mudds that came after is a 2D game. PSP: Despite having models with less polygons and textures with much lower quality than the PS2 and Wii, it is quite incredible to think that they ported the console game to a laptop, they did an excellent job here. Wii and PS2 : They are practically the same, the only differences that I was able to notice is that the Wii version runs with a much better frame-rate (more noticeable in the cutscenes where the Wii version runs smoother than the PS2 version) and has a better aspect ratio than the one on the PS2 (2:50) and better draw distance ( 2:54 look at back of the cenário ) but other than that you can't see any other difference, I think they could have used the hardware of the Wii better here but it seems that they only carried the PS2 version and made some small improvements. X360 : By far the best version, but apart from some extra lighting effects and improved textures it doesn't seem as superior to the PS2 and Wii version as other games, I think they could have used the X360's hardware better here.
I'm really dying to play this game again. Sadly my psp was history and this, mind over mutant and tag team racing aren't in Psvita digital store. The nostalgia is something else T-T
