I am feeling extremely happy to see this house.I was also born in kancheepuram. My grandparents had very big house there .Of course after their demice my uncles sold off that house .Please upload many such old houses because some sort of happiness comes within ourselves when we see these houses.

Thanks for taking on a trip down memory lane..How beautiful are these old dwellings..There is a similar small house in Tiruchendur ( jiyapuram , Trichy) that belonged to my great grandfather Justice Seshagiri which he built and gifted to his brother ..I have spent some wonderful times there as a child in the 60's..Am reminded of those days and thanks for taking time out to show us our ancient culture and traditions..

That wooden slippers u shot is called 'paadhugai' ...these are usually worn by sanyaasis like mahaperiyava of kanchi Madom..its believed to have their blessings if you have a paadhugai at home..

Kanchi kudil super. It is called THOTTIL where small babies sleep. Then in the next room one brass item is called GOOJA that has a handle on the lid it can be used to carry water

Thank you for a great video. My late mother's family home in Tanjore was built more than 100 years ago but now its not used i believe . Its a brick house with a farm. .The psintings in this house is truly amazing. Were they purchased or done by the family itself. My grandfather did paintings but myvfamily live in Msia so I have not bn there to see his paintings which hv disappeared probably. Best wishes , Msia.
