I grew up in the NE and we always called it a babushka. So glad back then we respect each others cultures and religions and learned from each other. Difference’s opened up our world. Yep. We've just hit a 34F here at a quarter to 5 pm, but started out with 23F, with a wind chill that brings us to 25F, and we'll take it gladly after what we just went through last week... sub-zero air with wind chill bringing it to -58F. I went to town 8 miles away, to the post office and grocery store, and was just wearing jeans, wool socks, t-shirt, and a light fleece jacket over it all, with the usual underwear (regular, no long-johns), and I was fine. I realize that Cog Hill Farm is in the southern part of the country and doesn't normally get these types of weather conditions, as I used to live in the south, myself. Humidity is the difference.
Good on you Jason! I would have a professional to install the storm shelter because if I did it and something happened to my family I would be devastated.
You should take a large piece of board and make a list on it of everything you need to do and prop it up outside of the camper, as you complete a task put a line through it. That's what builders do. Them the list is on plain sight.. Love you all and your podcasts.
I like this suggestion, I always make lists when I have a lot going on. Seeing things in order or getting crossed off a list always helps me to not get as stressed and keep focused .. it dont help everyone but It helps me alot :)
Moving Moody to big pasture 1st allows Mildred & Moody to know each other as back fence neighbors while Moody gets the routine down in Big Pasture and can show the kid the ropes as calm safe zone. You need field cameras so everyone can watch it all

I agree. Click bait is not my cup of tea and a couple of their buddies started doing it on a regular basis. Don't get their notifications anymore since I really don't watch them any longer, don't like people trying to fool me. I enjoy when they highlight their animals and some of their buddies got away from doing that much.
The language on one of them is why I dont watch that channel. I cant stand the F word its so uncalled for. But I dont have to watch it and so i don't. I dont go leave rude comments in the comments section of that channel either. Cog Hill has quickly became my favorite channel. Guess its that Alabama loyalty. I live in Alabama too.

Love your podcasts. I tested positive for COVID yesterday and now I am home for 14 days which started Wednesday. We here in NFlorida are in for some heavy rain this afternoon and cold, maybe, frost tomorrow and coo. Below normal the next few days. I can stay in my jammies and under the blankets and catch up. It's funny because i find myself saying your introduction with you. Peaches wouldn't let Nugget into the canned ham today and so forth. Love it! I believe the plastic roofing is called pylons. That's what my husband calls them and he has been roofing since he was 18 and is now 61. Brook, since Jason is good friends with the guys, do you find yourself becoming friends with all there wives? I did with some of my husbands work buddies. Became rel good friends with one of them and used to hang out together almost every day. Jason, you and Shirtless Jake should imitate each other. That would be so funny!
Hey, A suggestion on building the new pasture. If y’all can build a lane between the existing paddocks it might be easier to move a greater quantity of animals from one to the other. If you need to periodically give a paddock or pasture a rest this might be an easier means. Sure, a lane will deplete your funds but if you build with this kind of thing in mind for the future I believe you’ll have no regrets. Love ya, -Mike

I used Onyx for a countertop in my master bathroom in an attempt to mimic a granite or stone surface at a much more palatable price, with easier maintenance. Unfortunately now I wish I would have went with stone because it shows water marks very badly and strikes.
Great point Lone Traveler, Just redid both baths & kitchen. Got lovely 'manufactured' all-in-one countertops & sink and it spots terribly. Kitchen is quartz (ground stone composite) and it dries quick & spotless which I wish I had done with the baths sinks too. The showers I used modern tile, one which I picked LARGE rectangles that look very modern & clean quick with no spots using a shower spray product. Jason, on one shower we used a barn door type shower door, because of space & look, and have trouble with it leaking where it overlaps, but I think that is because we could only open it on the the side the shower head is. Make sure to figure that out as there is no way we can move the shower head now.
The only onyx I've seen is a beautiful dress ring set in plain silver setting that my sister has had for at least 50years. Other than that I've seen black counter tops with traces of white/grey running through simular to marble.

It's 4° here in Northeastern Pa, with a high of 14° plus below zero wind chills....And hoping that storm coming up from the south, is going to dump lots of snow, rather that freezing 🥶 rain 🌧 or sleet. Hi guys, we have our shower and bathtub surrounds made out of 'cultured marble', which sounds similar to the Onyx you are describing. WE LOVE IT. it's white, 3 pieces and so clean looking. Above all, it's VERY easy to clean and to keep clean., it also takes a long time to accumulate grime, as everything just slides off. A hand shower would have been good to add (wished we did), as all you have to do is spray the walls down. Yes, it looks like marble, but it's not, it's better.

We are 74 years old and we were tired of cleaning tile. I wanted a walk in shower before my second knee replacement. We had an Onyx shower system installed with nice sliding doors. You can pick colors , style of walls( plain, different type types of type shapes). I don’t think you want plain white. The sales person can help you. Our local hardware stores had sample showers to view. So so easy to keep clean. Make sure you get a corner shelf for shampoo, etc. I also had bench. Handy but we don’t sit on it much.Thank goodness for no more grout cleaning. It sure does not look like Formica.

In the north, Michigan, Toboggan is a 🛷 hats are stocking caps. You are very right about the slang for different parts of the world even the USA. Like soda, n pop.
When training or cattle as calves we would let them drag a lead that was hooked to their halter so they would get use to it. It allowed them to get use to it against their skin and legs, we also would wrap their new halters and leads in a old t shirt. They are very sensitive to scents having a scent they are comfortable with instead of a new smell helps a lot.
I watch most of them but you and Lester and his family are my favorites, I never miss any of your videos or podcast. Same with Lester, and his family. I just love the way you and Lester love your animals, each one of them are special to both of you. That just warms my heart. Do you think that storm shelter will hold Moody, Mildred all the goats, Birds , dogs and cats. You are going to be crowded 😂😂
This product sounds like what we have. I love this product. We have had the shower for over 7 years. We bought it from Lowe's. They also installed. We also had the sink top to match. I pick out a square sink. The shower is so easy to take care of.
The solid surface showers are great. You will not be sorry. Easy to clean. The way it is installed has an almost invisible seam. I cannot figure out how to send a picture but in our new house that is what we have. Bathroom counters match.

Although not the same, at one time I worked a 3rd shift job. At the end of the year we found there was no actual work, but the three of us had to hold the fort down. To pass the time we started sharing books. With all three of us reading the same books many times things would trigger the same reaction , comments and laughs would happen for all of us. What a great feeling to work with three people who were on the same wave link.. Such great memories.. Enjoy your special friendship.

I went to town 8 miles away, to the post office and grocery store, and was just wearing jeans, wool socks, t-shirt, and a light fleece jacket over it all, with the usual underwear (regular, no long-johns), and I was fine. I realize that Cog Hill Farm is in the southern part of the country and doesn't normally get these types of weather conditions, as I used to live in the south, myself. Humidity is the difference.

You should take a large piece of board and make a list on it of everything you need to do and prop it up outside of the camper, as you complete a task put a line through it. That's what builders do. Them the list is on plain sight.. Love you all and your podcasts.
I like this suggestion, I always make lists when I have a lot going on. Seeing things in order or getting crossed off a list always helps me to not get as stressed and keep focused .. it dont help everyone but It helps me alot :)

I agree. Click bait is not my cup of tea and a couple of their buddies started doing it on a regular basis. Don't get their notifications anymore since I really don't watch them any longer, don't like people trying to fool me. I enjoy when they highlight their animals and some of their buddies got away from doing that much.
The language on one of them is why I dont watch that channel. I cant stand the F word its so uncalled for. But I dont have to watch it and so i don't. I dont go leave rude comments in the comments section of that channel either. Cog Hill has quickly became my favorite channel. Guess its that Alabama loyalty. I live in Alabama too.

Love your podcasts. I tested positive for COVID yesterday and now I am home for 14 days which started Wednesday. We here in NFlorida are in for some heavy rain this afternoon and cold, maybe, frost tomorrow and coo. Below normal the next few days. I can stay in my jammies and under the blankets and catch up. You’ll be surprised how well your cows will go where you want. Mine would get out in the mountains and I’d just holler and they’d come running. Nothing like seeing a ton of cow running straight for you and stopping within inches of knocking you flat.

It's funny because i find myself saying your introduction with you. Peaches wouldn't let Nugget into the canned ham today and so forth. Love it! I believe the plastic roofing is called pylons. That's what my husband calls them and he has been roofing since he was 18 and is now 61. Brook, since Jason is good friends with the guys, do you find yourself becoming friends with all there wives? I did with some of my husbands work buddies. Became rel good friends with one of them and used to hang out together almost every day. Jason, you and Shirtless Jake should imitate each other. That would be so funny!

A suggestion on building the new pasture. If y’all can build a lane between the existing paddocks it might be easier to move a greater quantity of animals from one to the other. If you need to periodically give a paddock or pasture a rest this might be an easier means. Sure, a lane will deplete your funds but if you build with this kind of thing in mind for the future I believe you’ll have no regrets.

I used Onyx for a countertop in my master bathroom in an attempt to mimic a granite or stone surface at a much more palatable price, with easier maintenance. Unfortunately now I wish I would have went with stone because it shows water marks very badly and strikes.
Great point Lone Traveler, Just redid both baths & kitchen. Got lovely 'manufactured' all-in-one countertops & sink and it spots terribly. Kitchen is quartz (ground stone composite) and it dries quick & spotless which I wish I had done with the baths sinks too. The showers I used modern tile, one which I picked LARGE rectangles that look very modern & clean quick with no spots using a shower spray product. Jason, on one shower we used a barn door type shower door, because of space & look, and have trouble with it leaking where it overlaps, but I think that is because we could only open it on the the side the shower head is. Make sure to figure that out as there is no way we can move the shower head now.
The only onyx I've seen is a beautiful dress ring set in plain silver setting that my sister has had for at least 50years. Other than that I've seen black counter tops with traces of white/grey running through simular to marble.

Hi guys, we have our shower and bathtub surrounds made out of 'cultured marble', which sounds similar to the Onyx you are describing. WE LOVE IT. it's white, 3 pieces and so clean looking. Above all, it's VERY easy to clean and to keep clean., it also takes a long time to accumulate grime, as everything just slides off. A hand shower would have been good to add (wished we did), as all you have to do is spray the walls down. Yes, it looks like marble, but it's not, it's better.

My mother was from Kentucky and growing up in southwest Ohio she called our knitted winter hats Toboggans.
We are 74 years old and we were tired of cleaning tile. I wanted a walk in shower before my second knee replacement. We had an Onyx shower system installed with nice sliding doors. You can pick colors , style of walls( plain, different type types of type shapes). I don’t think you want plain white. The sales person can help you. Our local hardware stores had sample showers to view.
So so easy to keep clean. Make sure you get a corner shelf for shampoo, etc. I also had bench. Handy but we don’t sit on it much.Thank goodness for no more grout cleaning. It sure does not look like Formica.

In the north, Michigan, Toboggan is a 🛷 hats are stocking caps. You are very right about the slang for different parts of the world even the USA. Like soda, n pop.
Ours was large walk in. 3x6’. Plumbing and glass door was included. We loved it. Very easy to clean.
Get a floral smock as a vest, that would be hysterical.🥰
When training or cattle as calves we would let them drag a lead that was hooked to their halter so they would get use to it. It allowed them to get use to it against their skin and legs, we also would wrap their new halters and leads in a old t shirt. They are very sensitive to scents having a scent they are comfortable with instead of a new smell helps a lot.
I watch most of them but you and Lester and his family are my favorites, I never miss any of your videos or podcast. Same with Lester, and his family. I just love the way you and Lester love your animals, each one of them are special to both of you. That just warms my heart. Do you think that storm shelter will hold Moody, Mildred all the goats, Birds , dogs and cats. You are going to be crowded 😂😂

This product sounds like what we have. I love this product. We have had the shower for over 7 years. We bought it from Lowe's. They also installed. We also had the sink top to match. I pick out a square sink. The shower is so easy to take care of.
I would suggest that while Mildred is drinking her bottle slightly tugging on her halter and using the bottle to move forward.
The solid surface showers are great. You will not be sorry. Easy to clean. The way it is installed has an almost invisible seam. I cannot figure out how to send a picture but in our new house that is what we have. Bathroom counters match.

Although not the same, at one time I worked a 3rd shift job. At the end of the year we found there was no actual work, but the three of us had to hold the fort down. To pass the time we started sharing books. With all three of us reading the same books many times things would trigger the same reaction , comments and laughs would happen for all of us. What a great feeling to work with three people who were on the same wave link.. Such great memories.. Enjoy your special friendship.
