The Gospel of Luke was very enjoyable. Probably my favorite Gospel of the four. Thank you for sharing the Christmas tree relation to the story of the road to Emmaus. Makes a lot of sense in that they could not recognize Jesus until they had eaten the bread he gave them (i.e., the Eucharist). Fascinating. Good stuff. I am a sinner. I have been living in sin but, I have never, never, ever stopped praying and going to Mass..... Maybe that is why God the Father and Jesus Cristo have always blessed me and protect me from all the evil around me and my family. I have always love my Catholic faith. I decided to be baptized Catholic when I was 4 years old. My mother is not Catholic and I demmanded my mother to get me baptized. I chose my Godmother and told her the situation. I started calling her ( Maria Argueta ) Godmother even before I was baptize and she helped me to convinced my mother to get me baptized. I got baptized September 11th of 1979. I remember that day like it was 3 days ago. Thank you Father Mike and all of those who makes this Bible in a year podcast possible. God bless you and viva Cristo Rey. Ave Maria Purisima pray for us. A high school classmate got married in the Catholic church I'd like it so much I took the classes Because I was not a baby when I was baptized Go to sponsor She's my high school classmate. I was Gone from the church for many years. Because I didn't know if what I believed I was catholic by name only. Now i'm Practicing Catholic I've been back 15 Month. One commentary I heard on the road to Emmaus was that their eyes were prevented from seeing him because he wanted to teach them about the things concerning himself in the bible. The explanation was that we all have equal opportunity to see Jesus in the scriptures. We could sit here today and think 'of course they believed him because he was there physically' but these two listened to Jesus being present in the Old Testament, without knowing he was in their midst.
I will go on this journey of the reading the Bible In A Year you and this community as long as I am able. Thank you Fr. Mike and Ascension Press for presenting the Lords words to us.

What I find fascinating is in John's account chpt 20, he talks about strips of linen, and the face cloth neatly folded separately, this account kind of knocks out the validity of the Turin Shroud, as I think that image is all on one piece.

Just a random slice of life, on my bus journey home Jesus got a name check, a broad Irish chap got on (they never lose that accent) anyway he burst into song " one day at a time sweet Jesus" its all about the man upstairs he said. Amen to that I thought, think he just come out of a pub. Funny old life sometimes.

Wow I will never stop loving and learning about my Catholic faith, this journey has been a gift that I plan on reopening Jan 1st 2022, as for me, I have just scratched the surface. From Day 320-Do you all remember Father Mike telling a joke about people in Christ's time who did not believe on the resurrection? So.. they would not be able to share in the joyful knowledge and were said to be Sadducees? I cracked up when I saw that this joke was actually scriptural. Luke 20:27. Anyway, thanks Father Mike.

Christ’s resurrection continues to amaze me. The crucifixion of Jesus reminds me of a classic example of groupthink. King Herod and Pontius pilot no but Jesus was not guilty of a crime but all it takes is enough people to say that Jesus is guilty and Jesus suffered foneedlessly.r us. It is true that if Jesus is God, he could’ve saved himself. However he suffered his death because of the love he had for people.

That story at the end was super awesome. It reminds me of when I'm trying to explain how the Eucharist is the filling in, so to speak; the making of wholeness of a dualistic world/YinYang. I would explain better but I have 10mins to get to work...

When are things I like when you went for the gospel of Luke about Jesus berth . When I was growing up what we did before opening the Christmas presents. My dad would get get get out the Bible. Am I read the the story about Jesus being born about to shepherds?
