I have tried many times to read the bible in its entirety over a period of 40 years. This is the answer to my prayers. At the age of 86 I have finally almost done what I set out to do so many times. I am so happy to hear that it is going to be ongoing because I had decided about a third of the way through to do it again next year if it would be available. A second time around will just enhance and add to all that I have retained so far. God bless you FR Mike and all who are making this possible. I will donate as much as I can.

I was never able to read the Bible. I love this. I love Father Mike’s voice as the narrator and I love how he explains it after. This is my 2nd time through the BIY.

I am 73 years old, cradle Catholic and sadly 1st time reading the Bible. I am also doing Catechism in a year, when I complete the Bible I plan on doing it again starting with the same day as CIY. *Prayer Request: My brother David is dying of cancer. He called today 11-18-21 and we talked about God. He is a person that has to see to believe, therefor he does not believe. I asked him for a favor as his brother and he agreed. I asked him to pray that God would give him a sign that he is real and that Jesus is his personal savior. God has no limitations, so I ask that you and all that read this will pray for my Brother David and that he will recieve a sign from God. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen praise God*
1/29/24 Dear Friend, I am just reading your prayer request for the first time, although this is my third year listening to BIY. I'm praying for your brother David. I believe God can do anything. He is the God of the impossible. I am a Jewish convert to the Catholic Faith. I was far from God most of my life, growing up in the 1960's. If Jesus could save me, He could save anybody. He is awesome! Keep trusting and keep praying. I lost my brother to cancer a few weeks ago, and a few years before that, he lost his wife and his son David to cancer. I am entrusting them all into the loving hands of Jesus. The Lord's Mercy is unfathomable. May God bless you with peace and confidence in God! Truly this podcast and the continual motivation it provides to read through the entire Bible is a God-send! Only 43 days left! Some of Fr. Mike's words from today's discussion resonated so strongly to me that I was compelled to share. I have been listening repeatedly to Paul Simon's new recording Seven Psalms and really enjoying the music and many ways I see that the lyrics connect me to God. In today's podcast, we hear (starting 18:12) : "one of the things we know to be true is when we turn away from God our intellect is darkened even further. When we turn away from God, the human heart almost knows no boundaries when it comes to the evil that we can devise and the evil that we can choose..." Here is the lyric from nearly the end of Seven Psalms (section titled "Wait") that echoes this so closely: "Wait I don't want to be near my dark intuition I need you here by my side My beautiful mystery guide..." I highly recommend giving this music multiple listens to let the spirit seep in. As he states a little earlier in "The Sacred Harp": "The thought that God turns music into bliss..." carries a full helping of truth for me.
Happy our youngest son, John Phillip, recommended Bible In The Year. Would love to be able to contribute to get God’s Word out but I cannot. As a Protestant since age 14 (for over 59 years)listening to these podcasts has enriched my days as well as my family. Many stories and scriptures learned and sadly abandoned as an adult are recalled and loved again. Confirmed my& convicted to share daily in worship through indwelling of the Holy Spirit. As Jeff mentioned to Fr Mike this is evangelism to all.

What a beautiful journey we’ve all been on. We finish the Old Testament and working our way through the New Testament and it’s already322. It is helping me in my journey so much. How kids are deeply about people bladder is a relevant even more. It’s so incredible to continue Luke’s writing As we read We read the acts of the apostles.

November 26, 2023 Please, I am looking for people to take a moment and pray with me for Souls in Purgatory. Can you help? According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory: Eternal Father, I offer You the most precious blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, for those in my own home, and in my family. Amen. In her account of another vision, St. Faustina describes Purgatory as a "great crowd of suffering souls" undergoing purification. Further, she says that the souls are "praying fervently, but to no avail, for themselves; only we can come to their aid" (Diary, 20).
It is increasingly hard to talk about same sex attraction and not be thought of as small minded, however a tenuous link I know, one of my favourite shows used to be Strictly come dancing, I loved the music and the romance of it all, until a couple of years ago they introduced same sex couples. I stopped watching, it's a small stand, but I am more and more determined not to let the worlds standards seep into my life.

Father mike Bible in a year I've been doing it faithfully. I'm on day 322 I have not gotten behind i'm right on top of it.
I was never able to read the Bible. I love this. I love Father Mike’s voice as the narrator and I love how he explains it after. This is my 2nd time through the BIY.
Wow! Romans 1 is so apt in today's world! I never knew this because I had not read the whole Bible and I'm so grateful that I've been on this journey with you all since day 1 and I will be repeating this journey in the new year for sure. God bless you all and God bless you Fr Mike. You're awesome!

*Prayer Request: My brother David is dying of cancer. He called today 11-18-21 and we talked about God. He is a person that has to see to believe, therefor he does not believe. I asked him for a favor as his brother and he agreed. I asked him to pray that God would give him a sign that he is real and that Jesus is his personal savior. God has no limitations, so I ask that you and all that read this will pray for my Brother David and that he will recieve a sign from God. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen praise God*

I am just reading your prayer request for the first time, although this is my third year listening to BIY. I'm praying for your brother David. I believe God can do anything. He is the God of the impossible. I am a Jewish convert to the Catholic Faith. I was far from God most of my life, growing up in the 1960's. If Jesus could save me, He could save anybody. He is awesome! Keep trusting and keep praying.
I lost my brother to cancer a few weeks ago, and a few years before that, he lost his wife and his son David to cancer. I am entrusting them all into the loving hands of Jesus. The Lord's Mercy is unfathomable.

Truly this podcast and the continual motivation it provides to read through the entire Bible is a God-send! Only 43 days left!
Some of Fr. Mike's words from today's discussion resonated so strongly to me that I was compelled to share. I have been listening repeatedly to Paul Simon's new recording Seven Psalms and really enjoying the music and many ways I see that the lyrics connect me to God. In today's podcast, we hear (starting 18:12) :
"one of the things we know to be true is when we turn away from God our intellect is darkened even further. When we turn away from God, the human heart almost knows no boundaries when it comes to the evil that we can devise and the evil that we can choose..."
Here is the lyric from nearly the end of Seven Psalms (section titled "Wait") that echoes this so closely:
"Wait
I don't want to be near my dark intuition
I need you here by my side
My beautiful mystery guide..."
I highly recommend giving this music multiple listens to let the spirit seep in. As he states a little earlier in "The Sacred Harp":

carries a full helping of truth for me.

Happy our youngest son, John Phillip, recommended Bible In The Year. Would love to be able to contribute to get God’s Word out but I cannot. As a Protestant since age 14 (for over 59 years)listening to these podcasts has enriched my days as well as my family. Many stories and scriptures learned and sadly abandoned as an adult are recalled and loved again. Confirmed my& convicted to share daily in worship through indwelling of the Holy Spirit. So here I am again for 2024, doing Days 322-365 (Acts, Hebrews, Other Epistles, and Revelation) before finishing with Days 313-321 Gospel of Luke.

According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory:
Eternal Father,
I offer You the most precious blood
of thy Divine Son, Jesus,
in union with the Masses said
throughout the world today,
for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory,
for sinners everywhere,
for sinners in the universal Church,
for those in my own home,
and in my family. Amen.
In her account of another vision, St. Faustina describes Purgatory as a "great crowd of suffering souls" undergoing purification. Further, she says that the souls are "praying fervently, but to no avail, for themselves; only we can come to their aid" (Diary, 20).

How is it even possible that we are coming to the end of CIAY already?
It is increasingly hard to talk about same sex attraction and not be thought of as small minded, however a tenuous link I know, one of my favourite shows used to be Strictly come dancing, I loved the music and the romance of it all, until a couple of years ago they introduced same sex couples. I stopped watching, it's a small stand, but I am more and more determined not to let the worlds standards seep into my life.
