Google still has a long way before many firms will consider switching platforms. Small things like this really do make the difference and is why Microsoft products are still preferred by many.
This is so helpful! I'm working on my thesis and was initially using normal heading. However it gets mixed with my table of contents. So finding this video is like a blessing to me ahahahah, thank youu
I am so glad that you found this video helpful. Here's another upcoming video that might also be helpful for your thesis. :) th-cam.com/video/Uuu7pyoaN-E/w-d-xo.html
Hi guys! This is my first video. Let me know in the comments how I could improve my videos and what topics you're interested in so that I can try to cover them.
You can also copy paste a table from Google Sheets and adjust the numbering. I guess you can also put it a hyperlink for each cell. Ex. : This is from Google sheets Blank Cell - Where you place the pic Fig. # - Automatic formatting, adjust accordingly Description - Type anything !!! Don't forget to press "Update Table" from Google Docs if you do make changes from Sheets.
there is an easier way instead of adding a plugin you can just format the "Figure" as Heading 6 and numbering, add a Prefix = "Figure " (use the space) and Suffix = " : ", it will result as "Figure 1 : " you can just add your text after; Copy paste this for the next figure you get autonumbering "Figure 2 : "
Hello, I love the tutorial, I have one problem though, if I clicked the "update lists" only the figure and the table is appearing, the equations I referenced are not in the list, what could be the problem?
Hi. Thank you so much for reaching out. May I ask, how long is your documents and approximately how many figures? I think it's a Google Docs or app problem if your document is 60 pages ++ it really is hard for the app to generate lists. However, sometimes, you just need to ensure that the google chrome profile and your google docs account that you are using is the same, and then try to close the other windows to help Chrome process the lists. Let me know if this works!
@@elise_enova hi! Thank your for replying and I really appreciate your suggestions. Actually, I just did some practice after watching your tutorial and there was just 2 tables and 2 figures, but my document was more than 30 pages long. I tried to close unnecessary tabs and even restart my laptop but it just didn't work. It was so hopeless and I just ended up do the list of figures manually.
just select H6 format, add numbering, add Prefix = "Figure " and Suffix " : " it took me some time to find it out but really easy and no external plugin (security threat)

That does not do cross-referencing, such as when you reference that figure in the text, and then move the figure around.
thank you eliseeeee
excelente
