Yep. And I have some now. And had I not thought I needed to make my own everything, I would have just bought the one that RetroHackShack offers as a kit option. 🤷♀️
Yes, but Retro Hack Shack sells a very complete kit. You don't have to build the D-Sub cable like I did, and had I thought it through a bit more, I would have just bought the premade one when I bought the rest of the kit.
The 80 columns mode needs a DB-9 connector, like a CGA monitor. The 40 columns mode comes out over the same plug as the C-64 did. There are implementations of them acting as dual monitors, like The 8-Bit Guy's Attack of the Petscii Robots, but typically it's one or the other, so you'd need a way to switch them. Some exist, I just use two different inputs on my TV.
Ok. This is EXACTLY what I’ve been hunting for for a WHILE!! I hope I can order the same hardware; did you link it!!!! Yay!!!

Get the board and the PC Cable.
They do make an insulation-displacement DB9 connector too, it would be a lot easier to have a "crimp on" type rather than the soldering involved

RGB2HDMI is little finicky at the start. But if you finally configure it properly it just work
Yeah, it seems to be doing pretty well now. Thanks!
Nice.. so it's a kit and needs some assembly... not an out-of-the-box immediately plug-and-play, eh?
