How to Make Looped Burlap Flowers + Bonus Tablescaping Ideas

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 18 พ.ย. 2013
- Inspired by a burlap and lace table runner created by Professor Pincushion, Tiffany Windsor creates a Thanksgiving tablescape featuring looped burlap and pearl flowers. A vintage favorite from the Momma Aleene's archives, these flowers are a perfect way to transform a floral topiary to match this rustic theme.

You are great channel your flowers so beautiful Can we use food color to color them? I know the using of this kind of cloth is beautiful as it is but in case of coloring how we can do it thank you
Nagwa Rabie Remember that you can purchase burlap in colors. You will need to test to see how food coloring works because it may make the fibers of the burlap too wet and it will lose its stiffness. It's the stiffness in the burlap fibers that helps to hold the shape. If you want color the plain burlap, I would suggest that you spray paint the flowers after you make them. [Tiffany]
Love thee
This is so simple, yet such a surprising result. One question, please: what are the dimensions of fabric that you are using for the three flowers? (Thank you for your response.)

Tiffany, would it still work using Aleene's Fabric Fusion?
joe2jo1 Yest the Aleene's Fabric Fusion Peel & Stick Sheets or Tape should also work for this project. It's really sticky and really strong. The only thing you will find is that the rolled area may be bulkier because the glue does not soak in like the Aleene's Tacky Glue. [Tiffany]
Cool2Craft What I have is a bottle of Aleene's Fabric Fusion.
From where I can buy this burlap clothes
Smitha Jeejo I purchased my burlap by the yard at JoAnn Fabrics (USA). [Tiffany]
thank u
alguém sabe o nome desse tecido (em português)

Found your channel by accident when searching for burlap flowers. Was delighted to find you. I used to watch you years ago on the Aleene's Craft Show! I have many VHS tapes of the show because I didn't want to miss a show and so I could review techniques and craft along. Glad I found you and I'm now going to subscibe! Love the flowers and Thanks for sharing!
+Dona Green So happy you found us Dona! We love reconnecting with the Aleene's fans! [Tiffany]

LoveLOVELove! I've seen burlap at JoAnn's already thread pulled which would save time & energies as another step in this gorgeous process, too. I happen to have a fair amount of burlap from years & years ago picked up on sale. This truly is EV.REE.Thing! Thank you for your generosity in sharing!

es maravillosa esa flor muchas gracias por compartir este vídeo me encanto
Just a note for a topiary tree, you can get a large styrfoam ball and use long toothpicks for the flower stem and then take the flowers and burlap flowers and stick them into the ball however you like. I've used a bbq skewer and then took 4-6 small branches for the topiary base. Glue the branches, wrapping them around the skewer (make sure to leave 3" to insert into the foam ball. Wrap a burlap ribbon and glue it to the branches and glue a bow (put it just under the ball) ;-)
Beautiful!!!!!

Nice
Thanks for sharing...I don't like the table runner because the lace looks cheap and the burlap looks expensive...maybe a more expensive lace and not so white bright in color...I do love the burlap spiral flowers and the way you incorporated regular napkin holders into the set as a unit. The burlap flowers were perfect for the tapestry tree...that was absolutely beautiful...
Thanks for watching! We hope these techniques inspire you to create your own beautiful decor! [Tiffany]
👍👍👍👍
How wide is the burlap that you started with? The are beautiful .
The burlap I purchase by the yard is 45" wide. [Tiffany]
Did you use 10 oz or 7 oz burlap for your flowers? They are too adorable!!
Genie Boulineau I'm not sure what weight the burlap is. I purchased it from JoAnn's by-the-yard and it was full-bodied so I'm guessing it was 10 oz. [Tiffany]
would this be working with embroidery sheet ? as they look alike ? thank you
Mara Roxana As long as you can pull out the individual rows of threads, this technique should work on cross stitch but you need to be sure that the fabric has a lot of sizing in order for the flowers to hold their shape. [Tiffany]
what is the yardage you bought to get that size flower ...
Rebecca Arneh I used 20" x 4" for the largest flowers and graduated down from there to make smaller flowers. [Tiffany]
sorry,....beautiful
can i use 36000
+denise cryer Is 36000 a glue?
YES IT IS
+denise cryer You'll want to use a glue that grips the burlap and dries flexible.
tree inches =7.62 cm
