The base looks great on the piece. I especially like that you used whatever you had on hand.
I'm a trial and error beginner woodworker and projects always take way longer than I think they will.
Usually, by the time I get to the end I've figured out a half a dozen ways it could have been done easier/better.
Luckily, there is always youtube and a "next time" to get closer to perfection 😄

Painting the base before attaching it to the carcass will make it easier. Z clips or figure eight clips are great for attaching bases

Christina thankyou for sharing your work. I like learning tips from others - often how to manage around a "not built to purpose" work area.
My biggest challenge has been managing spraying - from the art I do to cabinets or speakers.
I'd be grateful if you have a minute to share some experience...
Does the Wagner gun create a lot of overspray or throw it a long way in comparison to a traditional spray gun?
How well does the Wagner tent work do you find for preventing overspray from dumping on everything in your garage?
I like the pink too... I think you are finding that priming your surfaces helps. If you are doing gloss the prep is super important. prime and fill with a few coats as needed and spray with a fine tip. If need be sand and then do a final coat.
A lot of the fluffing around with sanding, cut and polish is to do with 2 pack clears or a desired glass like finish. It can be a real PITA and doesn't suit all looks. I love how your dresser turned out.

I wish I would of known about this challenge, maybe then I would of painted my desk a bright color. I just finished a piece someone threw away with a Behr Paint matte compass blue color. It turned out great.

Looks good but I doubt that finish is going to hold up without some sort of coating...pink is also highly susceptible to UV damage given red is the longest wave length in the visible colour spectrum (pink is a red). Might have been worth getting an isocyanate to make your paint 2K (like automotive paint) or even adding a ceramic coating. Wouldn't cost more than an extra 5 or 6 dollars and it would protect your piece for years before needing to be recoated.

Can I skip all this and just spray on pink spray paint on a brown desk and tan dresser? I want to do it quick and easy im gonna cover the top it where its got some wood scratches with stickers. Will the spray paint rub off do I need to anything else for a glossy look than just the spray paint? How do I clean the furniture will lysol wipes or fabuloso make the paint come off?
