    I think the jade with the kinfolk jig looks fantastic. I need to get at least one pattern with those covers. Thanks for the look at this awesome toothpick, buddy!

    Another great presentation. Thank you. That bone stag is really nice. Nice info on the bone stag jigging being done by an individual. The Jade kinfolk jigging is nice as well. Thanks for sharing once again.

    Looks good. I like the Jade, but love the smooth Green Apple! Didn't even realize how much I liked it until I got one in hand. Beautiful.

      The Smooth Green Apple is terrific. Hard to choose a favorite Case Toothpick and stick with it as my favorite for any long period of time.

    Great knives! I love that jade one. It's weird that you don't see many medium toothpicks from RR. Thanks for sharing these!

    Very nice knives, tough to choose between them 😎
    I’m blaming you Tobias, I’m feeling the need to pick up some of these toothpick’s 😀😎
    Thanks for sharing and being a source of fantastic information and valued options ❤️ Stay safe buddy 👍🏻

      They are at least worth a try. If you can’t afford a Case there are still Rough Ryders floating around.

    Beautiful knives Tobias. I've always liked Case knives. Grew up when the choice of knives was a traditional slip joint or fixed blade belt knife. Still a fan of slip joints.🇺🇲🇺🇲. I remember when all the old American made knives were everywhere. Such a variety of makers.

    Appreciate your video. That is a really good looking addition.

    I’ve very few medium Toothpicks, and none from Case, but I do have a GEC #12 in jade bone. In this instance smooth camel bone. It’s one of only 4 GECs that I have broken my buying rules for.

      I have two GEC medium toothpicks. They are to toothpicks what Sowbellies are to Stockmans. I like them

    Hey Tobias you are awesome! You videos are very relaxing you seem like an easy going guy.
    I’m just now getting into classic slip joints my favoate pattern from case is the medium stockman 18 pattern going to keep an eye out for new bone patterns that catch my eye!
    I have the barnyard jig purple medium stockman from case and I love it. Such a versatile little knife.

      Thanks for the kind words. You have good tastes in Case Stockmans. The #18 is terrific. Shepherd Hills sells a #18 with a punch blade. It also features Carbon Steel blades and black synthetic handles. It's currently on back order but if you're into the #18 pattern it would be a nice addition to your collection.

    I need to get me a medium toothpick, a Tobias knife, after all, been watching your old ass for 5 years now and I'm notoriously sentimental.
    My longtime toothpick user is the RR French Tickler, which I'm pretty damn sure was a Tobias recommended purchase.

    The Kinfolk jigging is absolutely gorgeous especially with the Jade coloring. I've got to keep an eye out for it. Thanks Tobias. Do you know if the jigging comes from the original Kinfolk knives?

    • @KnifeChatswithTobias
      @KnifeChatswithTobias  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi BD H. I’m not sure if this is an original Kinfolk Jig. What I can tell you is that Case has four distinct jigging patterns used for what they call Family Brands; Crandall, Kinfolk, Platts, and Russell. I found this info on the main Case site!

    • @bdh3949

    For all the brands that make bone covers, Case really stands at the top. Their different jigged and smooth bone is absolutely top notch. So taking that in consideration as well as the fact that it's USA made, the price difference is quite understandable. The fact that i pick up RR's is mostly because af my budget, Case knives are more expensive, but also not that available over here. The Kinfold looks awesome. Thank you Tobias.

    • @acid6urns
      @acid6urns ปีที่แล้ว

      the issue w case is they charge those prices but have horrendous quality control and fit and finish. i bought a sodbuster jr and it came w the blade rubbing the liner and bent off to the left when open, and the back spring stuck out.

    6.5 Bonestag, it costs a little more, but it's worth the $!

    Amber Bone is my default handle to collect I have a Medium Stockman and a Gunstock in 6.5 and both as you said are gorgeous My only Jade Bone is the Tiny Trapper and while it is perfect it is so small it is just a place holder in the collection I really would like to get a Medium Toothpick like that or a Large Stockman something that shows off the bone and the color
    That comment on smooth bone and imperfections makes perfect sense It’s just like gloss semi gloss and flat wall paint One uses flat paint to hide a bad drywall job because semi gloss or gloss will show every mark
    Thanks for sharing a very nice and informative video with us
    BtW those knives are awesome

    The bone stag is a beauty. I had my dad’s old genuine stag esinhower and stockman out admiring them the other day. It’s a shame the real stag is in such short supply. I understand but still a shame.

      Going after Carbon Steel or Chrome Vanadium Case knives would definitely limit the collection but I can see how that would be fun!

      Case no longer makes Large Toothpicks and the ones on the after market run in the $200-$300 ranges which is a little on the stupid side. As for Large Toothpicks, still my favorite but they are getting as scarce and hens teeth (especially USA made). I did recently pick up two new large toothpicks from Marbles. They'll be showing up soon enough!
